Costochondritis is the left-sided chest pain that you have near your breastbone on and off for about 6-7 days. It is the case when the cartilage that links your ribs to your breastbone is inflamed. This can happen if you are doing too much, have an injury, or even have a viral infection. As a remedy, you can use ice pack, and over-the-counter pain relievers, and practice good posture. If the pain remains or gets worse, it is advisable to see a cardiologist.
