What should I do about painful oozing wounds?
I am 19 years old female and I have these painful oozing wounds on the back of my head near my hairline. They are tender to the touch and accompanied by a lump on the back of my neck. I’m not sure what to do.

You may be suffering from a scalp abscess, which occurs when bacteria become trapped under the skin, causing an infection. Painful draining sores and a lump on the neck are common symptoms. A dermatologist should be consulted for appropriate treatment even if warm compresses help.

i am using finasteride 1mg daily for hair loss . i have read that it can cause prostate cancer . is this true or can i take it without any worry
Male | 26
Finasteride is mostly safe to use for most people and it's not a direct cause of prostate cancer. Nevertheless, it can have an impact on the behavior of the prostate which in turn, may result in a PSA test result being altered. If you have concerns, it's always best to talk to your doctor.

What we do our face have pimples
Female | 41
When you see pimples on your face, don't worry, it's common and usually nothing serious. This occurs if your skin pores are clogged with oil and dead skin cells. Indications may involve red lumps and whiteheads or blackheads. To avoid these pimples wash the face regularly with a mild soap, not always touching it, and use oil-free products for your skin. You can also visit a dermatologist if necessary.

Female | 19
You might have something known as a lipoma. It's a lump formed by fat cells. Lipomas don't usually hurt. They feel soft. You can move them easily under your skin. They're typically harmless. You likely won't need treatment, unless it bothers you. However, it's wise to see a dermatologist.

I am 24 years old and yesterday I just feel something under my chin like it feels a swelling and something under my skin
Female | 24
You may have a swelling below your chin. This could be caused by a swollen lymph node. Lymph nodes are small glands that help fight germs. When they swell up, it might mean your body is battling an infection. If the swelling is not painful and you feel fine, you can keep an eye on it. However, if the swelling does not go away or you have other symptoms, it is a good idea to see a dermatologist to find out the cause.

I have too many blemishes on my face
Male | 17
Blemishes can be frustrating, yet they're normal and treatable. Spots or tiny bumps on the skin are classified as blemishes. Clogged pores, bacteria, or hormone fluctuations might cause these. Gently cleansing your face regularly helps. Applying benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid products could improve things. However, avoid popping or squeezing blemishes to prevent scars. If the issue persists, consult a dermatologist for guidance.

You may have itching, and redness in a specific spot on your body. Possible causes: an allergy, bug bite, or irritated skin. Don't scratch! That worsens things. Use a hydrocortisone cream to ease itchiness, and swelling. However, if symptoms continue, see your dermatologist for an exam, and proper treatment.

I am Nursing student.27 year old I have painful itchy pimples on fore head and few hard pimles on scalp.. It's irritating, uncomfortable and it's very painful. Some are swelled. And some few medicines I have taken which are Pentid 400 for 10 days Dexamethasone for 6 days Zerodol sp 6 days And also applied or applying Cosvate GM plus plus cream which effective sometimes.... But my problem is not solved... It's been cleared in some area and grown in other with same moderate symptoms and also eye pain and headache What to do sir / madam please help
Male | 27
Pimples on your forehead and scalp may signify acne. Medicines don't cure it; special treatment is required. Benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid can potentially help. However, Cosvate GM plus cream should be avoided. It might worsen symptoms like pain, itch, and redness. Eye pain, headaches too seems connected to this problem. So, discussing all symptoms with a dermatologist is vital. Get proper evaluation and advice for comprehensive acne management.

i have pigmentation patches on my face since last 3 years. my treatment was run last 3 years but the still the condition are equal. what can i do.
Female | 28
Those pigmented areas on your face for the past three years must be showing literally on your skin because they are probably highly noticeable. Melasma is a condition that can be brought about by exposure to sunlight, hormonal changes, or a person's genes. Since your last treatment did not manage the condition, see a dermatologist.

If the marks are just pigmentation-like, they will be corrected in due course of time with the combination of steroids and antibiotics in tropical form, and if it is a depression or scar that has to be addressed with lasers.

Hello sir /ma'am From the past 3 months i was using elosone ht skin cream over my knee areas, because of the sun exposure my knee became very dark and they were looking very odd. That's why i was using it in my knee areas only, also it was having visible results. 4 5 days back i saw my knees and suddenly i was in shock. My knees are looking very scary. The area where i use to apply the cream the whole area is covered with a dark patch which is 2x darker than before i had. Please help me it is looking very scary and i can't even wear shorts due to this.
Female | 18
The cream you were using might have led to the development of a skin condition known as skin atrophy which causes the skin to become thin and darker. This can occur if certain steroid creams are applied for an extended duration on sensitive areas like the knees. It's vital to discontinue the cream instantly and see a dermatologist for a thorough examination and advice on how to improve the skin condition.

Female | 31
White patches can be pityriasis alba which is an allergic reaction due to climatic change that presents dry ill defined white patches or hypopigmented patches commonly seen in children but might also seen in adults as well. The treatment is mild topical steroids like hydrocortisone. Apart from this using sunscreen is important. White patch can also be vitiligo which requires more prolonged treatment. It is always advisable to have proper diagnosis by dermatologist either by online or offline consultation.

I am 21 year old male and my hairline is declining from front and middle. I often smoke. I have used onion oil for months and got good results but after sometimes my hairs started falling out again. How should I stop my hair from falling out and what tests should I prefer to know its hormonal or not ??
Male | 21
You need to give due attention to your hair loss problems. Smoking is one of the reasons for hair loss. Hormone Imbalances are also another factor. Blood tests can help determine if your hormone levels are abnormally high or low. Fatigue and weight shift are some of the symptoms of hormonal imbalance. You may require medications or lifestyle adjustments customized to your condition. Routine dermatologist checks are critical.

I have been facing vaginal itching and inflammation over the past two years. Also on my inner thighs. It comes and goes. As you mentioned i also suspected yeast infection. And i ve been using candida b ointment for over an year now. And still there's no change. It comes and goes all the time. My eyelids also started getting irritated , without any itching. And the infection has not spreaded to anywhere over the past two year. Is there any medication i must try ? Or should i consider any pap smear ?
Female | 24
Vaginal itching and redness could be induced due to several things like yeast infections. If the candid B ointment hasn't done the work, consider other possibilities too. As the infection has not expanded, I diagnose it as a local problem. Make an appointment with a dermatologist for health assessment and treatment suggestions.

Female | 29
Your thyroid and skin issues are connected. Thyroid imbalances often cause dry, dull skin tone changes. Thyroid medication balances hormone levels, potentially improving skin quality gradually. Ensure you take your prescribed doses regularly and follow up with a dermatologist routinely. This helps rejuvenate your inner well-being, and outer appearance alike.
