The numbers indicate high blood pressure (BP). These numbers show how hard the blood pushes against the walls of the blood vessels. Whenever it is not controlled, high BP can damage the heart and the blood vessels. Sometimes it can cause heart disease or strokes too. Amlodipine is one of the common drugs used in treating high BP. It works by relaxing the blood vessels so that the heart does not have to pump too hard when pushing the blood through them. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed and go for regular checkups with your doctor so that he may be able to keep track of your BP readings.
