FDA Approved New Drug for Hypertension 2022

By Rahul Chauhan| Last Updated at: 27th Mar '24| 16 Min Read

Hypertension is a common condition that affects the body's arteries. It is primarily caused by high blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure, the force of the blood pressing against the artery walls will be too high. The heart has to work harder to pump blood.

Approximately 1.28 billion adults worldwide, aged 30-79 years, have hypertension, most living in low- and middle-income countries. Out of them, only 42% are diagnosed and treated.

Around 1 in 5 adults (21%) with hypertension have it under control. 46% of adults with hypertension are unaware of their condition.

Hypertension significantly increases the risks of heart, brain, kidney, and other diseases. Making it a major cause of premature deaths worldwide.

It's understandable to feel concerned when experiencing discomfort in your chest area. Symptoms like pain or pressure could indicate various conditions, including angina. It's essential to consult a cardiologist for proper evaluation and diagnosis. They may recommend tests such as an ECG, stress test, or echocardiogram. These can help determine the cause of your symptoms. Treatment options may include lifestyle changes, medications, or procedures, depending on the diagnosis. Discuss financial concerns with your doctor, as many clinics offer sliding scale fees or payment plans.

i want to show my father's ecg

Male | 55

I see you have your father's ECG results. An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a very simple and easy-to-run test that shows the heart's electrical activity, and it is called an ECG. Besides, if the ECG shows such disorders as too fast or too slow heartbeats, it can be the reason for heart problems. A heart attack or myocardial infarction may occur because of the symptoms of chest pain, shortness of breath, or dizziness. It can be a result of hypertension that is related to either the heart itself or to stress. Other possible remedies are lifestyle changes including healthy dieting, regular exercising, and stress reduction. It is always necessary to contact the doctor to get your condition assessed and the treatment prescribed.
