Aparna is a psychologist at Over a Cup of Tea. After completing her Bachelors in Psychology from Mumbai University, with an exchange semester at the prestigious University of California, Berkeley; she went on to pursue her Master's in Clinical Psychology from SNDT University, Mumbai. Additionally, she has also completed a diploma in Forensic Science and has taken training in Personal Counseling.

While in Mumbai, she has worked with many government hospitals including KEM Hospital, JJ Hospital and Thane Mental Hospital giving her experience to work with children, adolscenets as well as adults. After shifting to Kolkata, she started working as a psychologist at Manovikas Kendra and continues to be a part of the Manochetna Team at Manovikas Kendra.

Having experienced a wide array of situations in her professional capacity, she believes that an individuals thoughts and feelings stems from their life experiences, reaction to different situations and social demands. Keeping this in mind she believed in the use of an amalgamation of various therapeutic intervention designed to meet an individuals need and help them in healing. Her focus includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and mindfulness based interventions among others.
