Hi my husband was diagnosed with secondary lung cancer. Doctors asked for immunotherapy. Should we consult for a second opinion or is it fine to go with immunotherapy?
Answered on 23rd May '24
It looks like the patient has metastatic lung cancer. There is no information about previous treatment. I would like to know about the details of treatment given so far and histopathology report. We usually give immunotherapy if the tumor is PDL-1 positive.
My brother has malignant lesions in his lungs and Doctors have stated that the lesion must be removed at the earliest using Chemotherapy or immunotherapy. However, we'd like to know which hospitals in Nagpur are the best for lung cancer, particularly for Chemo, Targeted Chemo, or Immunotherapy.

There is no details available regarding the stage of disease and histopathology report which usually decides the type of treatment. Oncologist usually advice biopsy, PET-CT scan, MRI Brain to stage the disease. Treatment depends on the stage of disease. In stage III and IV, we usually give chemotherapy. Targeted therapy or immunotherapy is advised depending on certain biomarkers and stage of disease.
Hello, my aunt was diagnosed with a brain tumor after a bad fall on December 31st. We were advised that surgery would be impossible due to her age and other considerations and she would be unable to undergo chemo, therefore she will be treated solely with steroids. We are not sure about this hence would like to go for a second opinion. She has diabetes also. We are from Kolkata.

Details of the pathology report of the brain tumor and treatment given so far is needed. In brain tumor, the first line treatment is usually surgery. If not possible, then radiation can be given with or without chemotherapy depending upon the histopathology report.

How fast does sarcoma grow?
Answered on 23rd May '24
Sarcoma has to be treated by surgical excision if it is in the early stage / local disease. If it is not removed surgically, it can spread to local surrounding organs or other organs.

Three years back I was diagnosed with Colon cancer and treated for that. I was cancer-free after the treatment. But recently, I had to do a CT scan for a non-cancer purpose and then the doctor said there is a spot. So he asked me to have some other tests. Then one tumor was discovered during the PET scan, it's a new one. It's a particularly aggressive malignancy, and I'm losing a significant portion of my liver. And I'll have to go through chemo once more. I feel numb to thinking about the trauma I have to go through again. Can you please help with a doctor for a second opinion?
Answered on 23rd May '24
It looks like you have metastatic CA Colon. Most of the time, it requires chemotherapy with targeted therapy or immunotherapy. We may have to do certain mutational testing on paraffin blocks if it is not done. You need to consult an oncologist for the proper line of treatment.
