1 Answer

Answered on 27th May '24

I am looking after my dad that has end of life copd.hes not eating much very weak talks in his sleep and fidgety and is getting withdrawn from peopl

Male | 83

Extreme fatigue and loss of appetite could be caused by COPD. Sometimes people may talk while asleep, be restless, or become unresponsive during this period. This means that the body is extremely weak. Right now, what is most important is to make sure he is relaxed all the time, don’t force him to eat too much but give him small amounts of food often.

Hi Iam 26 years old and I’m having a severe cough and breathlessness , I have done a chest x ray and COVID RTPCR but nothing is in the reports ..but at night I’m suffering from cough and breathlessness

Male | 26

It is possible that you may have an underlying respiratory condition such as asthma or COPD that is causing your symptoms. You should see a doctor for a more thorough evaluation and to discuss treatment options. It is also possible that your symptoms could be caused by allergies or other environmental triggers. An allergist or pulmonologist can help you identify the underlying cause of your symptoms and develop an effective treatment plan.

I was not feeling well for 2-3 days after that i got 103° F fever and one day later i got constant chest pain that is not going since 2 days along with throat, nose and chest congestion. I am not any diabetics patient. My fever is ok now after still chest pain and congestion in nose, throat is not going completely and also i am feeling tired.

Female | 45

A respiratory infection probably caused your symptoms. Fever, chest pain, congestion in throat, nose, and chest, along with tiredness. Viruses or bacteria usually cause these infections. Rest up, drink lots of fluids, and use over-the-counter meds for congestion and pain relief if needed. But if symptoms persist or worsen, see a doctor.

Weldon sir/ma, I am issues with breathing and sometimes too I have chest pain, sometimes when I stand. I was told to do an x-ray to figure it out but the test results came out anf everything seemed normal, but I am still having issues.

Male | 15

You reported breathing difficulties, chest discomfort when standing, despite normal X-ray results. This could indicate asthma, anxiety, or acid reflux issues. I advise discussing additional testing with your doctor, such as lung function evaluation or electrocardiogram (ECG). These further examinations may provide insight into the underlying cause, allowing appropriate treatment.

I am 18 years old and my question is can I share room TB patien like my uncle

Male | 18

Tuberculosis (TB) is a serious infection that mainly affects the lungs. Symptoms include coughing, chest pain, weight loss, and fatigue. TB is a contagious disease that spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Your uncle should stay in his room until he finishes his treatment, as TB can spread to others. To prevent this, certain measures should be followed. It's important to follow your doctor’s advice to protect both yourself and your uncle.

i recently got tested for covid and was positive and i haven’t had a fever for 48 hours but i took another test and it came back positive but have no symptoms just a sore throat from dry cough am I good to hang with friends?

Male | 19

It's good that you haven't had a fever for 48 hours, that's a positive sign. Nonetheless, the sore throat you may be able to catch from a dry cough may as well mean that you are infected and may still be contagious. Staying at home and keeping away from people is the best way to protect other people from infection. Continue with the fluids, take your rest, and check your symptoms regularly.

I had intranasal MRSA and my doctor prescribed me mupricion. It actually made me contagious, why did that happen? Is it common

Female | 34

You could be handling MRSA bacteria which normally causes infections. When contracted, a drug known as Mupirocin is prescribed for treatment. The bacteria may become resistant if not used properly for a long time such that it even stops working, thereby rendering one more contagious. Take note of any symptoms such as increasing redness, swelling, or pain, and consult your physician. They might need to change your therapy to assist you in feeling better. Whenever you are using your medication ensure that you adhere to what your doctor has instructed or else you may encounter some complications.

I haven't asthma flare up and I don't see my primary for 2 weeks is there anyway that I'm able to get a prescription for my prednisone for my wheezing and cough until then. I'm at Kroger pharmacy in River oaks, Gray street, Houston Texas.

Male | 52

You can go to see a pulmonologist or an allergist, who may be the appropriate professionals to see the wheezing and cough related to the asthma attack. They would be able to examine your condition and write them a prescription for prednisone if it is necessary.

I have RSV how bad is it for an adult like me I'm 37 and I started getting sick on Monday and how long does it take for it to go away and could it kill me and how long does the coughing go for and will the coughing stop in how long before this RSV will get out of my system

Female | 37

RSV causes breathing trouble for grown-ups. With a cough, runny nose, fever and hard breathing, it can be rough. But most feel better in 1-2 weeks without treatment. It rarely kills healthy adults yet can be severe for some. The annoying cough may continue for weeks after the other symptoms fade. Resting up, drinking fluids, and symptom relief medications help most recover.
