A team of doctors headed by Dr. Gaurav Chaubal at Global Hospitals in Mumbai performed a complex liver transplant on a 42-year-old morbidly obese patient, Jitendra Belgaonkar. 

The patient, a businessman from Nashik, was diagnosed with fatty liver disease which progressed to liver cirrhosis, and despite optimal medical management, he was listed for a cadaveric liver transplant for over a year. 

With his condition continuing to deteriorate, the doctors planned a living donor liver transplant, which was successfully performed. The patient weighing over 150 kg got a new lease of life thanks to the meticulous planning and expertise of the team at Global Hospitals Mumbai.
