Riya  is a 68-year-old female patient originally from London, currently residing in Bangladesh. She has been battling cancer of the uterus and ovaries, which has unfortunately resurfaced after previously receiving treatment in London.

Due to significant delays in receiving treatment in her hometown, Riya sought medical consultation in India. However, her condition is further complicated by mental instability.

Riya was experiencing symptoms associated with her cancer, such as vaginal bleeding and blood in her urine. Additionally, her weight has been adversely affected. In order to determine the most suitable course of action, a whole body PET CT-Scan was conducted. She also had an autopsy in London, which was reviewed in India again, with the help of ClinicSpots.

Regrettably, the results revealed that surgery is not a viable option for her.

As a result, Clinicspots referred Riya to Dr. Suresh Advani, an experienced oncologist. Given the unique circumstances of her case, Dr. Advani recommended an unconventional treatment approach known as immunotherapy. This therapy aims to leverage the body's immune system to combat the cancer cells and potentially provide Riya with an improved prognosis.

Treatment Plan

By transitioning her medical care to Dr. Advani and exploring the possibilities of immunotherapy, Riya's medical team hopes to optimize her treatment plan. The objective of Clinicspots was to provide her with the best possible chance of overcoming her condition, despite the challenges posed by her recurring cancer and mental health concerns.

Riya 's treatment journey took a significant financial toll due to the high cost of immunotherapy. The initial therapy alone amounted to Rs. 6.5 lakhs, followed by two additional therapies with medicine costing around Rs. 40,000 each. Despite the financial strain, the treatment process proceeded diligently with the help of Clinicspots.

During the first dose of immunotherapy, Riya underwent a complete CT scan which revealed extensive spread of the disease. However, the subsequent dose, along with a PET CT scan, showed significant improvement, indicating that the disease was almost eradicated. To ensure complete remission, another cycle of immunotherapy was administered under the guidance of Clinicspots.

The Results

At present, Riya is undergoing oral chemotherapy and receiving treatment for her mental illness. She has stabilized both physically and mentally, enabling her to return to London with her family. Thanks to the efforts of her medical team, including Dr. Hemant Ongaokar and Dr. Suresh Advani (Medical Oncologist) at Nanavati Super Specialty, Riya's health has considerably improved, and she is now doing well.

Her treatment plan provided by Clinicspots involves periodic visits to the doctor, with medication and chemotherapy administered in day care every 21 days. It's worth noting that Riya will require lifelong oral chemotherapy to manage her condition effectively. With the current treatment approach, she is expected to lead a fulfilling life, and her overall well-being has significantly improved.
