Based on your symptoms and blood test results, you have experienced fluctuations in white blood cell counts, which can occur due to various reasons, including infections or immune responses. While some symptoms might raise concerns, they do not directly indicate HIV. Risk from exposure is difficult to quantify without specific information, and testing is crucial for accurate assessment. I encourage you to speak with a physician who can offer appropriate testing, guidance, and reassurance.

Female | 21
Alpha thalassemia major can be present in a patient who does not require blood transfusions. This form of the disorder can result in severe anemia, although it affects people differently. Some individuals may not need a transfusion at all. Signs and symptoms of alpha thalassemia may include fatigue, weakness, or paleness of skin. Treatment may consist of symptom management such as taking supplements or drugs that stimulate the production of more red blood cells within the body. Please consult a doctor for individualized advice.

I'm 30 years old , my hb level increases to 16.3 ,what should I do now to reduce that to normal, will it cause any serious issues, please suggest me
Female | 30
A hemoglobin level of 16.3 g/dL is slightly above the average range. While often not concerning, it’s essential to consider potential symptoms like fatigue or dizziness. High levels could arise from dehydration, smoking, or living at high altitudes. To normalize your hemoglobin, ensure adequate hydration, maintain a balanced diet, and avoid tobacco. Engaging in regular exercise can also help. However, it’s advisable to consult an endocrinologist for personalized guidance and evaluation, as they can determine underlying causes and recommend appropriate actions.

My WBC count 15000 how to normal
Male | 44
A White Blood Cell (WBC) count of 15000 could be an indication that your body is fighting an infection. Some of the usual symptoms are fever, tiredness, and body pains. Increases in WBC counts are due to infections, inflammation, and some of the drugs used to treat them. You should consult a hematologist for proper treatment.

Hi.. I'm always struggling with being very skinny and I can't gain weight and my iron level always drops, I did blood analysis and everything was good except iron level. I reached many doctors and they gave up because the diagnosis still dim ????. Thanks in advance doctor .
Female | 24
The typical symptoms of iron defusion consist of fatigue, weakness, and trouble gaining weight. The most prevalent cause of low iron is that you don't get enough of it in your diet. Iron-rich foods such as red meat, beans, and green leaves can do a good help. Besides consuming iron supplements, which should be prescribed by a doctor, one will also be able to improve one's iron levels. Don't forget to see your doctor to get more directions.

Is it normal to feel weak and loss of appetite after a week of getting treatment of Bilharzia.
Male | 34
After treatment for Bilharzia, feeling weak and losing appetite is common. Medicines used can cause these side effects. Weakness happens as the body fights infection. Drink lots of water and eat healthy foods, despite no appetite. If symptoms worsen or persist, inform your healthcare provider.

Started taking pep and it’s day 12 now but the results after testing it went positive
Male | 25
It's understandable to feel concerned after receiving a positive test result, even while taking post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP). PEP is highly effective but not 100% guaranteed. Symptoms of potential HIV infection can include fatigue, fever, or swollen lymph nodes. I recommend scheduling an appointment with your sexologist, who can guide you through further testing and provide personalized advice. This is a crucial step to confirm your status and discuss any next steps for your health.

Hello doc. Can an adult male contract hiv if he ingested breast milk of an infected person.
Male | 32
The likelihood of an adult male contracting HIV through consuming infected breast milk is extremely low but not impossible. HIV typically spreads through specific fluids such as blood, semen, vaginal secretions, and breast milk. Symptoms of HIV may include fatigue, fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes, though many remain asymptomatic initially. If you have concerns about potential exposure, consider consulting a healthcare professional for guidance and testing. Remember, early detection and treatment can greatly improve health outcomes, so seeking expert advice is always a wise choice.

Im worried about my wbc since 2019 do i have cancer
Female | 31
It's understandable to feel concerned about your white blood cell counts. These cells play a crucial role in your immune system. Variations can occur due to infections, stress, or other benign conditions, rather than cancer. Common symptoms of concern include persistent fatigue, unexplained weight loss, and increased infections. However, these can also result from various non-cancerous health issues. I encourage you to discuss your worries with a hematologist who can provide tailored advice and may suggest blood tests for clarity.

My patlet -154000 MPV -14.2 Is it ok
Male | 39
A platelet count below 150,000 is considered low. Platelets help the blood clot properly. Low levels can cause bruising easily, bleeding, or tiny red spots called petechiae. An MPV of 14.2 is slightly below normal too. This could happen due to infections, medications, or medical issues. It's crucial to talk to your doctor about these results. They'll check further and recommend the right treatment.

Can it's completely cure by Ayurveda treatment thalassemia ??????
Male | 14
Thalassemia is a problem with the genes that makes red blood cells develop incorrectly. It impacts hemoglobin production, which carries oxygen in your blood. With thalassemia, you often feel constantly tired and weak, and your skin appears pale. Though Ayurveda won't cure thalassemia, some practices like herbal remedies and yoga could help you feel better overall. Still, your doctor needs to oversee managing this lifelong disorder properly.

I'm an 18 year old female who thinks she may have Raynaud's? These are my symptoms. ### Raynaud’s Phenomenon: - **Fingers and Hands**: - Frequent color changes in response to cold, stress, or pressure: fingers turning white/yellow, blue/purple, and red during rewarming. - Numbness, pain, and stiffness, especially in cold water or when exposed to cold air. - Fingernails occasionally turn blue, particularly when nervous. - Fingers often go white under light pressure, but color returns after. - Red, painful, and numb fingers, especially when handling cold objects or after cold exposure. - Hands sometimes go pale/white in cold water, with visible blue veins. When they warm up it can feel tingly and intense heat and sometimes burning and uncomfortableness. - Ridges and a light white color underneath fingernails. - A small cut on your hand is taking longer than usual to heal. But cuts in general too. - **Feet and Toes**: - Feet often turn purple or blue when sitting still for long periods, especially without socks. - Numbness and coldness in feet, particularly when standing still or exposed to cold. - Toes sometimes appear weirdly purple/light blue/gray after cold exposure. - Difficulty standing and walking due to numbness and pain in feet, particularly in cold environments. - **General Cold Sensitivity**: - Need to wear multiple layers and use hot water bottles/heat packs to stay warm, especially at night or when sitting still. - Lips sometimes turn blue or darken when cold, especially during Raynaud’s attacks. - Occasional episodes of feeling cold despite being in a warm environment. - **Pain and Discomfort**: - Discomfort in hands and feet during cold exposure, sometimes making it difficult to perform tasks or move. ### Recent Observations: - **Improvement**: - Hands have been warmer than usual recently, with fewer Raynaud’s attacks. - **Persistent Issues**: - A cut on your hand that is slow to heal, potentially due to reduced blood circulation. - Ongoing need to protect hands and feet from cold to prevent Raynaud’s attacks.
Female | 18
It appears like you have Raynaud's Phenomenon. The condition makes your fingers and toes to change color, cause the cold and numb feeling, particularly, when you are exposed to cold or stress. This is due to blood vessels in your extremities overreacting to these triggers, thus, decreasing blood flow. The best way to do this is to wear warm clothes, gloves, and socks, and also avoid the cold that triggers such episodes.

I have normal cold and cough and sputum with blood from nose and mouth both
Female | 17
You have a common cold and cough. When blowing your nose or coughing up phlegm, you notice blood. This happens because coughing irritates the delicate blood vessels in the nose and throat. However, blood can signify other issues like sinus infections or severe conditions. Pay attention to the amount of blood - a little may not be concerning, but persistent or excessive bleeding warrants medical attention. For now, avoid blowing your nose forcefully and stay hydrated to soothe your throat. If blood persists, consult an ENT specialist to rule out serious problems.

Hello doctor I have a very challenging question here for you to help me with. Do you have to extend the duration of PEP for HIV prophylaxis to more days if the patient got another exposure on the 6th day while taking the regular 28 days dosage regimen. He had so far reached the 6th day of taking his PEP and got anothet exposure. So should we add more 6 days on top of the remaining 22 days. Thanks Laurence
Male | 26
If a person on HIV PEP experiences another exposure to the virus on the sixth day of treatment, it is of the utmost importance to consult a doctor. They will consider the situation at hand very carefully and consequently decide this case. Quite sometimes, they might find it adequate to prolong the treatment duration according to personal circumstances for optimal safety. Never forget that open and honest communication with your healthcare team is the crucial component of the best possible care.

Male | 17
Understandably, you’re feeling anxious, but swollen lymph nodes can happen for many reasons, like infections or inflammation. Since your blood tests showed an increase in lymphocytes and low neutrophils, it's important to follow up with a hematologist or ENT specialist to rule out any serious conditions and get a proper diagnosis. They can help guide you further, so don’t hesitate to visit them for a detailed checkup.

I have lower abdominal pain for 5days. I have done my full boy test. But there is many problems like hemoglobin low, ESR high, creatinine low,bun low, vitamin d 25 hydroxy low. Now what should I do ?
Female | 14
The pain in your lower abdomen, along with low hemoglobin and high ESR levels, along with decreased creatinine clearance and reduced UV-B irradiation exposure, can be associated with various health conditions. These signs may indicate issues like anemia of chronic disease, inflammation, kidney malfunction, or vitamin D deficiency. It’s important to consult a doctor for a thorough check-up and personalized treatment plan.
