PCOS and pregnancy are closely associated with each other. Hormone imbalance and Ovulation issues are the reasons behind having problem in conceiving.

PCOS leads to increase in levels of androgen in women’s body. Androgens are vital in the growth of male sex organs and other male behaviours. Androgens gets converted into the hormone estrogen in women. Increase in the levels of androgens affect the development and regular release of your eggs.

Regulating your menses is important as it will can help women with PCOS to conceive and have healthy pregnancy.

PCOS is not curable, but there are treatments offered to treat the symptoms of PCOS and the infertility associated with this condition.

Through stimulation of ovulation, especially in case of women who are trying to conceive, and treatment of insulin resistance will help in regulating ovulation and restoration of periods.

Another way to treat PCOS is with known method of in vitro fertilization, or IVF. Estrogen and progestin hormone containing medications are prescribed as they decrease the production of androgen.

Consult best gynecologist in Mumbai for the treatment for regulation of your menstrual cycle.

Abdominal pain and light bleeding are a common side effect of the medicine you took. At times, the bleeding may differ from person to person, so if it is not heavy that is fine. Just rest and keep yourself hydrated. If the bleeding stops entirely or you feel severe pain then seek medical help.

Does consuming a 5% alcohol beer during pregnancy increase the risk of miscarriages?

Female | 25

It's generally recommended to avoid alcohol or to consume it in moderation for those who are trying to conceive or are already pregnant.
Even if its 5% alcohol beer in moderation and may not have a significant impact on fertility or pregnancy outcomes, it's important to know that every person and pregnancy is unique.

My wife missed her period. LMP was 8 April. She is guessing pregency. Without test she took 4 pills of misopristol to abort it because she is not mentally prepare for it. Symptoms breast swalloing but no vomiting. After taking pills small amount of bleeding occurred then stopped. What should do and how to proceed.

Female | 32

It seems your spouse did take the drug misoprostol to get rid of the babies. Bleeding is the most common side effect of this very drug. Another common thing with women who are in advanced pregnancy is the fact that they have swollen breasts. But then again, without any tests performed, we can't be certain about the pregnancy. You should consult a doctor for advice and treatment. Her health needs to have her do it soon while her life is still not in danger.

I had unprotected sex on 29 June last month and I was to ovulate on 30th June...I drunk alcohol too much yesterday which was 3 rd July which was 3 days after ovulation can i still get pregnant?

Female | 27

Most women do not get pregnant if they have sex 3 days after ovulation, but unfortunately, it's not impossible. Chronic alcohol consumption may contribute to a deficiency in the reproductive process and marital relations result in a baby's impairment. Mind the symptoms and take a test to be sure. Besides, take the test after you miss your period to know for certain.

I cant calculate mu current period cycle as im having irregular period every month and want to get pregnant.

Female | 25

Disordered periods don't make the process of finding the fertile window easy at all. You should see your gynecologist or a fertility specialist and have him/her evaluate your menstrual history, as this is the best way to get advice on tracking ovulation. It will also raise your chances of conceiving.

I have a question I took a 3 emergency contraceptive pills last month and now am late on my period. And I took 3 pregnancy Hcg urine test 3 weeks and 4 days and I have a negative results

Female | 19

Possible side effects of the morning-after pill include changes to your menstrual cycle, however, do not expect these to be the case with the pill. So it's okay if you're late. Pressure or other causes may be considered by the mind as well. Your negative pregnancy tests suggest that you are probably not pregnant.

I have a query regarding HPV vaccination. My daughter was taken only one dose of HPV vaccine when she was 14 yrs . We are not aware about other doses. Now she is 20 years.. so what should I do regarding her HPV vaccination ?

Female | 20

HPV is a type of virus that can lead to cancer in some cases. The good news is your daughter can get the rest of the HPV vaccine doses now. It's best to have all doses done to get maximum protection. Go to a clinic and they will tell you how to catch up on the missed doses.

Hello Ma'am, i would appreciate if you could give me you few minutes... My mom is in her pre-menopausal age she's 47 years old back in 2022 she had started bleeding heavily for list almost a month continuously we had done test so at that time here uterus lining was 10/11mm which is supposed to be normal She was taking pause-MF tablets and aftr that she had normal regular periods for 2 years Now since april 2024, she's having very heavy flow of blood she had her periods from 10-19 april then from 2-20 may then after this she again started her period from 28th may till 05 june. she's had very heavy flow during these 3 recent cycles We've done an ultrasound so in the ultrasound we got to know that the Endometrial has thickened to 22mm she's been suggested biopsy, so is it necessary to get the biospy done or can it be left like that keeping her age in mind? Your valuable suggestion will be very meaningful. Thank you.

Female | 47

These kinds of changes could be caused by hormonal imbalances or conditions such as endometrial hyperplasia. 22mm is concerning and needs further evaluation through biopsy to rule out anything serious like cancer. Because of her age as well as her overall health status, these tests must be done.

Having periods after 11 days of intercourse... Any chance of pregnancy?

Female | 17

A woman could be pregnant if she gets a menstrual cycle after having sex for 11 days, but other times, this is not the reason behind it. You can see cramps in this regard or some bleeding that is not typical of a period. This may be due to the changes in your hormones, or there may be other issues that have lead to this. To diagnose the situation, it's advisable to take the pregnancy test a few weeks after the last time you had sex. Although it's not necessary to have periods after 11 days each month of the sexual act, it does occur sometimes, but it's not always indicative of pregnancy.
