Should I Worry About Watery Nipple Discharge Post-Emergency Contraceptive?

I had protected intercourse on August 10, 2024, and took an emergency contraceptive within 4 hours. My period/withdrawal bleeding occurred on August 19. On September 8, I noticed a small, watery, slightly cloudy nipple discharge (only when pressed), which has continued for weeks but without pain. I got my period this month with cramps, and a pregnancy test showed a single control line (negative). The discharge is still present but minimal (like a dot).is it normal or I should be concerned??

Hello there! It's fantastic that you used emergency contraception after having protected sex. The watery discharge from your nipple could be the result of various reasons like hormonal changes, medication, or even stress. Since you had a negative pregnancy test and minimal discharge, it could be normal. Keep an eye on it, and if it continues or worsens, it's a good idea to chat with a gynecologist.

If you missed your period and are worried about being pregnant, the best thing to do is to take a home pregnancy test to confirm whether or not you are pregnant. These tests can give you a reliable answer within a few minutes. Even stress or some other hormonal or health issue can cause a delay in your period. Kindly check with a gynec.

Please, seek your gynecologist's opinion before you start receiving any contraception pills while nursing. With your medical history in mind, the doctor will advise the suitable option of contraception for you.

Hello doctor I was expecting pregnancy and yesterday I have to get my period. I have noticed little bleeding yesterday with very mild period cramps. Immediately I have taken diclomal tablet get releived from those cramps. However I havemt noticed any kind of bleeding in my pad but noticed brown colour discharge today morning. My concern is am I pregnant or is it implantation bleeding and if it is so as I have taken the tablet will that effect the pregnancy

Female | 34

It’ is difficult to tell if it's just implantation bleeding unless there is a medical assessment done. You should visit a gynecologist and let them take the pregnancy test and afterward give you the advice you need. The intake of Diclomal tablet can leave the pregnancy at the risk and therefore it is vital to inform the doctor the same. It would be best that you see a gynecologist so you can get a complete check-up with their recommendations.
