Having headphones on while lying on your side for long periods can cause pain in your ear. This happens due to pressure and friction in the ear canal. To ease earache symptoms, take breaks from wearing headphones frequently. Apply a warm compress to the affected ear. Avoid sleeping on that side until the pain goes away. I am a 15 year old male and for the past 2 or 3 days I have had pain in my left semi-outwards upper ear.
