Does cancer come back in everyone who is cured after treatment?
Male | 22
When an individual undergoes treatment and the disease fades away, it’s a relief. Nonetheless, there are times when it recurs after going into remission. It is contingent on the kind of malignancy one has as well as the method used for healing it. Signs that can indicate its reoccurrence may be similar to those experienced during the first onset such as unexplained weight loss, fatigue, or formation of new masses. To avoid its resurgence, you need to keep seeing your doctor for regular checkups besides living healthily.

Lump under armpit - thought I had a muscle strain, go to check my armpit where the pain is and there’s a hard edamame size lump. This shoots ache down my arm and the location under pit is painful. Warm compress is all I’ve done.
Female | 23
That may be a symptom of the breast infection, cyst or even cancer. In this situation, a specialist to refer to is an oncologist or a breast surgeon. The application of warm compress might give just the temporary relief of the pain, but it is critical to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Hello, I want to know if breasts are removed in Breast Cancer surgeries, or are there any other methods in which there is no need of removing the whole breasts?
Female | 46
The biology and behavior of breast cancer will be considered for planning the treatment of breast cancer. Treatment options also depends on several factors like the tumor subtype, hormone receptor status, stage of the tumor, patient's age, general health, menopausal status, and preferences. The presence of known mutations in inherited breast cancer genes, such as BRCA1 or BRCA2. There are some general steps commonly preferred for treating early-stage and locally advanced breast cancer. Doctors generally recommend surgery to remove the tumor in breast. Though the goal of surgery is to remove all the cancer which is visible but microscopic cells sometimes remain behind. Therefore another surgery may be required. For cancers which are large or are rapidly growing, the clinician suggest systemic treatment with chemotherapy or hormonal therapy before surgery. This is called neo-adjuvant therapy. This helps in shrinking the tumor which is easy to operate; also breast can be preserved in some cases. After surgery it is important to check for recurrence. Then adjuvant therapy is advised. Adjuvant therapies may include radiation therapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and/or hormonal therapy When surgery to remove the cancer is not possible, it is called inoperable, and then Chemotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation therapy, and/or hormonal therapy may be given to shrink the cancer. For recurrent cancer, treatment options depend on how the cancer was first treated and the characteristics of the cancer. What will be the line of treatment in your case will depend on your clinical condition. You can take one more opinion to a clear understanding of your concerns. Consult Cancer Treatment doctors in Mumbai, or any other city you find convenient.

Hi my name is Melissa Duodu and My mom has been having for the past 2 years CDI right breast stage IV for cerebral, hepatic, bone mestases, already treated with systematic therapy (two lines) with recent critical relapse in known epilepsy symptomatic of cerebral mestasis. severe obesity. carrier of hemoglobinosis C. I wanna know if there’s any kind of way to cure all this diagnose.
Female | 41
The malignant tumor in the right breast is stage IV, with metastases in the brain, liver, and bones. This is considered a very severe situation. The upcoming seizure can be associated with a brain tumor, which would finally become the cause of the disorder. The patient also has some other concerns like hemoglobin c and increasing weight. Consequently, in advanced cases, oncologists guide patients to symptom control, relieve pain, and enhance life quality.

What are the symptoms one can experience if they have Eye Cancer? Are they noticeable or do they go unnoticed?

- Partial or total loss of vision
- Bulging of 1 eye

The above mentioned symptoms can also be caused by more minor eye conditions, so they're not necessarily a sign of cancer. Consult an ophthalmologist. Hope our answer helps you.

Good morning. On examination of the CT scan and the MRI they detected a thymoma, with a benign appearance. Do you think I should remove it or do a biopsy first? THANKS

First, a biopsy should be performed in order to confirm the diagnosis of thymoma. When the diagnosis is made, it should be surgically removed. See a thoracic surgeon to have correct diagnosis and management.
