How can I reduce my baby's acute diarrhea?

My baby boy has acute diarrhea it has been days and he is on antibiotics and the diarrhea is still a lot, how can I help to reduce the diarrhea

Answered on 20th Aug '24

Diarrhea can be defined as the frequent passing of loose or watery stools. It may be triggering by infections, which are caused by bacteria or viruses, or as the side effects of antibiotics. To help with diarrhea, ensure your baby's fluids are kept up by giving him water or oral rehydration solutions. If not, avoid sugary drinks. Besides them, try to give him other easy-to-digest foods like bananas, applesauce, rice, and toast. If the intestinal disorder lasts, please consult a pediatrician for further treatment.

Male | 0

It seems like your little one might have caught a cold. This causes the body to work hard, making the hands and feet feel cold. However, we can help! Try massaging his hands and feet gently. Or, use warm socks to keep them comfortable. Make sure he rests and stays snug.

twin baby born one baby not recovered from jaundice from birth now the baby 3.5months old weight not gained.

Male | 105days

Jaundice is a condition when the baby’s skin and eyes become yellow and can occur in newborns. In case it is prolonged, it may lead to weight loss. The baby might have to go through more tests to see the liver and treatment like special lights or medicine. The doctors can help with this.

I have a daughter she is 14 months old she is a preterm baby born in 34 weeks 5 days she is responsive can talk some words like mama papa and all but not able to sit properly and walk sometime stiff her legs

Female | 1

It's good that your daughter is responsive and speaks some words. However, not sitting properly or stiffening her legs could indicate developmental issues. I recommend visiting a pediatric neurologist for a thorough evaluation and guidance on appropriate interventions.

My kid is 3yrs old still not talking

Female | 3

Some children take time to develop speaking skills. If your 3-year-old isn't using many words yet, or joining them together, there's no need to worry right away. However, it's wise to have their hearing checked. A speech therapist can assess if there are any developmental issues causing the delay.

4and half year old kid, girl, in blood report CRP 21.6, getting fever frequently, head is more warm then rest of the body. git prescribed Azithromycin 200 twice a day, Cefopodoxime 50mg thrice a day, and for fever Paracetamol with Mefanamic acid as per requirement. Its about 3-4 days, but no improvement in fever, and now kid is not allowing to touch his stomach.Several vomits were during Macpod(cefopodoxime tablet) until replaced with oral suspension. Suggestions requested for food and eatings and when we should look further to be worried?

Female | 4

The fever and hot head might indicate an infection, while the vomiting and stomach ache could be from the medication. Let's switch to a different antibiotic and add probiotics to ease the stomach issues. Keep offering light, bland foods like crackers, bananas, and rice. If symptoms don't improve or get worse, further tests may be needed.

My child has slow development of brain. Not socializing and can not make friends

Male | 15

Children develop differently, some take more time than others. Your child's social struggles may indicate delayed brain growth. Delays appear as learning difficulties, atypical behavior, or communication troubles. Multiple factors contribute: genetics, birth issues, early experiences. A specialist can help with tailored therapies and support. Creating an encouraging home and promoting social activities aids progress.
