Why Won't My Child Eat After Vomiting?
My child vomited 3 times last night, today he refuses food, he is indisposed, he doesn't want anything
General Physician
Answered on 3rd Sept '24
Your kid seems to be not epic at all. If a child throws up multiple times and then says he does not want to eat, it could be possible that his tummy is upset. This can be many things such as a tummy bug or food intolerance. The best thing you can do is keep him hydrated with small sips of water and let his tummy rest by avoiding food for a bit. You should take him to a pediatrician.

My daughter was bit by a dog tick what should I do I cleaned the area
Female | 5
Dog ticks are a nuisance. Watch for the signs you see: blood, itchiness, and a bump on the skin. Ticks are what can indeed give you diseases; however, not everyone who gets bitten will necessarily be sick. The best outcome you had was to wipe the area with a cloth. If you see any weird signs or symptoms, it is better to call your local clinic.

My 1 year 2 months baby refuse milk and food.. So what to do?
Male | 1year 2 month
Kids often show tantrums and refuse to eat at such times. It could simply be due to teething, illness, or just a temporary phase. Therefore, do not worry, keep changing their foods and wait. You should consult a pediatrician if the child has been refusing to drink milk or eat for more than one or two days.

My 1 year old hit his head recently and has been trying to sleep when he does fall asleep he’s hard to wake up just curious on what I should do
Male | 1
Many parents worry if their child bumps their head. A toddler who's hard to wake after a head injury may indicate a serious issue. Be alert for constant tiredness, throwing up, or pupils that look different sizes. See a pediatrician quickly to be sure all is well. With young kids' head injuries, it's best to get checked rather than risk harm.

Hi doctor. My baby gets cold often while ac is on but if I switch it off he sweats so much and never sleeps. He starts crying. I don’t know what to do . Please help. Thank you.
Male | 1
The situation with your baby seems to involve regulating body heat. With AC on, your little one feels cold. Without AC, they get sweaty. This happens because babies' sweat glands aren't fully developed yet. So their bodies struggle to control their temperature. To help, dress your baby in layers that are easy to remove. Keep the room around 68-72°F. A small fan can gently circulate air without making it too breezy or cold. These simple adjustments should help your baby stay comfortable and sleep soundly.

My daughter is having recurrent fever syndrome. Does that mean she has weak immunity. Will it go or will it be lifelong because she falls sick every 15 th date of the month for 5 days with high fever. Will it continue in adulthood as well
Female | 2
Recurrent fever could be many reasons! It may, however, be the flu, which may not be the case here. It is very essential to get your doctor on board to determine the factor that is behind the condition. Your pediatrician might recommend tests to find the most appropriate treatment.

My baby has running nose Also she has a cough.. And she is sneezing
Female | 5 month
These symptoms can also mean a common cold is happening. Colds are mostly due to viruses. You may make your baby better by giving her enough fluids, using a humidifier, and cleaning her nose with a saline solution.

My 4 year old has had a stomach flu since Saturday, she was vomiting up until Monday night and has had barely appetite, she is very thirsty even though she stopped vomiting and has been drinking a lot of pedialite and water, no vomiting or diarrhea since Monday night… why is she still so thirsty?????
Female | 4
When someone has stomach flu, their body loses lots of fluids. Even though vomiting ceased, her body might still be trying to regain lost fluids, causing increased thirst. Continue providing Pedialyte and water to help her rehydrate. If she doesn't improve or struggles keeping fluids down, contact a pediatrician.

I am 12 years old and I am a female who has been having chest pain for at least 2 and a half years now. It has been happening with sharp pains either my left arm or right arm. It hurts very badly and sometimes I feel very sharp pains near the chest area. Though breast pain may not have to do with this but I get it when I'm not on my period or when my period isn't even yet to come. Today I have felt a sharp pain near the breast area , underneath them. The chest pains as well come every so often. There were times were I wasn't able to sleep due to the pain near or on my chest. I have told my parents and seen a doctor once but the doctors said nothing about it at all and only talked about my allergies. So I'm concerned if this is bad because there are times I think I wont be alive by the next day because of the pain. Maybe I am just overthinking but I don't want to not know what's going on. So please answer my concerns if you can.
Female | 12
Chest pain at a young age can be related to various causal factors, such as muscle strain or an anxiety attack. However, there can also be a connection to the sharp pain in the arms. You must see a cardiologist. Next time remember it is vital to point out chest pain including other symptoms. Based on this observation and your results, they may suggest the needed tests.

My 8 years old daughter have cough during playing time(running, climbing stairs, climatic changes). when she was in 3 months & 5 Months old,she admitted in hospital due to cough (lung infection)..... now after vomit her cough is going to better. Is Nimococal vaccination is suggested for her at this age?
Female | 8
Your daughter seems to be struggling with a persistent cough, especially during playtime and with sudden weather changes. Considering her history of lung infections, the pneumococcal vaccination might be a good option. This vaccine helps protect against bacteria that can cause serious illnesses like pneumonia, supporting her lung health. Please check with her pediatrician to see if she is eligible for the vaccine.

Which supplement is good to grow height after 16 in like 9-10 months??
Female | 17
You're considering height. Bones halt growth past age 16, so supplements cannot increase stature. Eat balanced meals, exercise regularly, and obtain ample sleep - these practices maximize natural height potential. If worried, discuss it with a medical professional. Maintain healthy habits.

Worried about giving budecort and easybreath together? That combo could potentially lead to some side effects for your baby. They might experience a faster heartbeat, feel jittery, or have trouble sleeping soundly. Be on the lookout for those signs. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, reach out to your child's doctor right away.

Son 13 year old vomiting pain on stomach and headache
Male | 13
The signs of a stomach bug can start with vomiting. Stomach pain and headache are also two other possible symptoms. Often, these bugs are self-limiting and go by themselves, for the time being, ensure he drinks as much as possible to avoid dehydration, and feed him suitable light foods. Should he not feel any better in several days, it's the best option to see a gastroenterologist.

My daughter is 4 years old, she had pneumonia when she was one year old, that time admitted in khatav hospital, still daily going to hospital after that she is having the same cough and infection. Every time she had fever, there was no difference. All x-rays and tests were normal.
Female | 4
It sounds concerning that your daughter is still experiencing persistent cough and infections despite previous treatment for pneumonia. It's important to consult a pediatric pulmonologist. They can assess her symptoms thoroughly, consider other possible causes, and recommend appropriate treatment to manage her condition effectively. Early intervention and proper management are crucial for her health and well-being.

Fever 100.03 give dolo Cyrup before one hour
Male | 1
Your temperature being slightly high at 100.03°F indicates a fever. An infection, perhaps the flu or a cold, could cause this elevated body heat. To alleviate the symptoms, consider taking dolo syrup. This medication can reduce fever and improve your overall feeling. However, it's crucial to rest adequately, maintain proper hydration by drinking ample fluids, and prioritize comfort during this time. If the fever persists or additional concerning symptoms arise, please visit a pediatrician.

My 10 month old daughter poops after every feed..wether I give her milk or banana or cerelac...she poops after eating or drinking anything...pls suggest something
Female | 10 month old
It's usual for newborns to poop after eating, yet a consistent movement with a loose or watery content could indicate a sensitive stomach. The probable cause of this might be a certain food in its diet that is not serving well to her. Your food diary can point you in the right direction by showing you the link between her reaction to food and food consumption. It will be worthwhile to discuss this with a pediatrician, who will reassure you about its healthiness and help you figure out ways to get rid of it if there is any malaise. Make sure your child gets enough fluids and give her foods that are easy on the stomach, such as rice and bananas.

hi there, i've only now come to realise ive had threadworms for almost all my life - i am 15 and i've probably had them since i was 3 or 4. i want to know what medicine i should be getting to take care of this and can i buy this myself? also will treating this affect my metabolism since i read that these threadworms use glucose to survive so does that mean that's the only thing keeping me skinny?
Female | 15
It's important to treat threadworms with proper medication. You can use over-the-counter medicines like mebendazole or albendazole, which are effective. However, it's best to visit a pediatrician or a general physician for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Treating threadworms won't significantly affect your metabolism.
