Who is the top liver infection treatment specialist?
Which is the best doctor for liver infection treatment, need to get endoscopy done

Surgical Gastroenterology
Answered on 1st Mar '25
For liver infections, common symptoms include fatigue, jaundice, abdominal pain, and nausea. Various factors like viral infections, alcohol consumption, or certain medications can contribute to liver issues. While addressing this condition is important, seeking professional help is crucial for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment. An endoscopy might be necessary to evaluate the liver’s condition. I recommend consulting a specialist, such as a hepatologist or a gastroenterologist, who has experience in liver diseases. They will guide you through the appropriate tests and treatment options.

Sir I was affected HCV 13 years ago after treatment I was completely cured and my PCR negative. But when ever I go for my medical to abroad they declared me unfit and reject my visa because HCV antibodies are shown in my Blood Elisa . Is there any solution to solve out this problem please guide Can I go for Plasma therapy to remove these antibodies from blood ....?
Male | 29
My suggestion would be to go to a liver specialist and do the necessary tests. Immune memory of HCV infection may persist. Not plasma therapy is advised to eliminate the antibodies to HCV. A hepatologist can refer you to more specialized care or recommend other treatment options.

I did my LFT last Thursday. The albumin, protein, CRP and GGT were slightly elevated. I'm a diabetic. Should I be worried?
Female | 61
Elevated levels in your liver function tests can indicate several factors, including inflammation or liver-related issues, especially in the context of diabetes. Symptoms to watch for include fatigue, yellowing of the skin, or abdominal pain. Various causes, such as medications or dietary habits, can contribute. It's essential to monitor your diabetes closely and consider lifestyle adjustments, such as a balanced diet and regular exercise. However, I recommend scheduling an appointment with a hepatologist for a thorough evaluation and personalized guidance.

I am fall ill with jaudince before 15 days when the doctor give the lft test it was 6.56 before 15 days now it's been 16.46
Male | 19
When someone has jaundice, their skin and eyes may turn yellow. Liver function tests revealed high results of 6.56 and 16.46 which means that there could be a problem with it not working properly at all; this might be caused by infections or damage from things like alcoholism. Drinking lots of water, eating well regularly, and steering clear of alcohol can all help your liver heal itself again. See a hepatologist so that they can give you the right treatment and look after you properly.

My father suffering from nonalcoholic steatohepatitis
Male | 53
This is a state where the liver gets fat-rich and thus there is inflammation. Symptoms can be tiredness, pain in your abdomen, and jaundice when the skin and eyes go yellow. To help, he will likely have to eat healthy food, exercise, and avoid alcohol. These changes can help his liver to be intact.

I am samiullah 4y old male I have been having fever for last 3 months. I have taken many medicines like colistin, tigecline but I am not getting any relief. I have some cough and weakness. I have done many tests but all came back negative but my liver is swollen. HB-7.2 SGOT-135 SGOT-78 SERUM BILROBIN 3.9 XINE XPERT negative Blood culture - no growth CSF- normal
Male | 4
The complaints you have of long-lasting fever, cough, weakness, and swollen liver make me worried. The lab results hint that your hemoglobin is low, and liver enzyme levels are elevated. This could be an indication of some infection or inflammation in your body. Further investigations and a thorough evaluation by a hepatologist are needed to find out the exact cause and provide you with the right treatment.

A positive hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) on a blood test shows that you are currently infected with the hepatitis B virus (HBV). The CLIA value in the test is 4230 which is considered a high level of HBsAg, that indicates a higher risk of transmission to others. Consult a hepatologist and with proper precautions to prevent transmission, its possible to manage hepatitis B.

HBV is a viral infection that can cause liver damage. Possible signs are weariness, jaundice (yellow skin or eyes), and abdomen discomfort. This virus is transmitted through direct contact with blood or fluids from an infected person. Medication can help to control the virus, but no cure is available. I suggest visiting a hepatologist if you want to get a diagnosis and treatment plan.
