  • To remove moles, these are the options that you can discuss with your dermatologist:
  1. Laser removal:
    • Based on factors such as size, type, and color of moles -- the cost and number of sessions required, will vary.
    • Uses a beam of laser positioned in such a manner that its heat breaks down the cells of moles, and causes it to dissolve & dissipate.
    • Effective for moles that are difficult to reach.
  2. Radiofrequency:
    • Uses radio waves to remove moles.
    • There will be a wound following this treatment but will heal.
  3. Punch Excision:
    • Used to treat smaller moles.
    • A device is employed to punch out the moles.
  4. Electrocautery:
    • Burns the moles superficially, to protect the surrounding tissues and avoid scarring.

  • Cost:
    • The process of mole removal can cost between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 30,000 per session, depeding on the procedure and other complications encountered during treatment.
    • Regarding microdermabrasion, it may not help with mole removal, but our understanding of it could be limited -- but for the sake of this query, it costs Rs. 1500 to Rs. 6000 per session.
    • Can also vary depending on location/experience of doctor, infrastructure of clinic and other value-added services provided by the doctors.

Note - Always discuss with specialists:

  • The procedure of each treatment, their side effects and risks, liability/compensation/rectifying treatments available for risks & unwanted outcomes, pre-operation measures, post-operation care, any possible complications that your health background can create and correction treatments for such condition, also the eligibility criteria for a patient to undergo those treatments.

  1. When you say that you want to "reduce belly fat", it isn't clear to us whether you are fit overall and this is merely a case of localized fat, or if you are obese and your belly happens to stand out somehow, on our platform we have often seen people confusing the two.
    • So with the lack of relevant details, we will answer your query keeping both possibilities in mind.

  2. Assuming that you are obese overall and your belly stands out, then:
    • You should approach a nutritionist/dietician to enquire about dieting & lifestyle modifications.
    • Once it's concluded that they aren't delivering desired results, then you move on to endoscopic procedures or other weight-loss surgeries, but they will only limit food intake, and won't remove fat -- they are mentioned below:
      • Gastric bypass, gastric binding, gastric sleeve, Biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch -- the doctor will determine your eligibility, depending on your health background and pace of weight loss.
    • The doctor shall guide on everything, just make them aware of your expectations, limitations and pre-existing health conditions as they could create complications and the dietician would have an easier way of providing realistic goals.
    • You may refer our page to contact experts and learn more - Dietitian/Nutritionists.

  3. Assuming that you are fit overall and your belly fat is a localized deposit that refuses to burn out no matter how much you exercise, then:
    • In this case, you can think of plastic surgeries such as liposuction, liposculpture, and various body contouring techniques.
    • For plastic surgeries mentioned above, following things are common:
      • Common side effects include: Pain, bruising, and swelling.
      • Possible risks include:
        • Loose, uneven or bumpy skin.
        • Permanent spotted skin.
        • Temporary pockets of accumulated fluid.
        • Temporary/permanent numbness caused by nerve irritation.
        • Skin infections, damage of internal organ, kidney and heart problems.
        • Fat embolism where fats get trapped in blood vessel, same qualifies as a medical emergency.
        • Bad reaction to anesthesia.
      • An ideal candidate is someone who has:
        • good skin elasticity,
        • no smoking history,
        • skin free of sun damage,
        • ideal weight and BMI under 30,
        • strong muscles and no sagging skin
      • Word of caution - Avoid or discuss these medications with your doctor:
        • Aspirin, anti-inflammatory prescriptions and herbal complements.
        • Please visit this page to find specialists who can consult you and provide affordable services - Plastic Surgeons.

Note - Always discuss with specialists:

  • The procedure, side effects and risks that can follow each treatment, liability/compensation/rectifying treatments available for risks/unwanted outcomes, pre-operation measures, post-operation care, any possible complications that your health background can create and correction treatments for them, also the eligibility criteria for a patient to undergo those treatments.

Beneath is a gist of treatments every patient can opt for -- but based on your health background and severity of concern, the dermatologist will ultimately decide which course to pick.

However, you can still try to enquire regarding these treatments with your specialist:

  1. Laser toning (Rs. 4,000-10,000): laser device breaks down pigment and helps reduce appearance of tan, sun spots, etc.
  2. Chemical Peel (Rs. 1,800-10,000): A mixture of acids that is beneficial to skin, is applied on the concerned region of your body, in the required quantity, which dries up and is removed thereafter - this process aids in the regeneration of newer & healthier skin cells by removing upper tanned layers of skin.
  3. Skin lightening Injections (Rs. 6,000-40,000): Can detoxify the body and provide U.V protection, along with improving skin tone. It will use a dosage of glutathione however.
    • Risks:
      • Kidney damage &/or blood poisoning
      • Nausea, breathing issues &/or chest pain
      • Rashes, allergic reactions, numbness or hives.
      • Stomach infections &/or eye disorders.
      • Hair loss &/or hair Whitening.
      • Weight gain
      • Postscript: Severity of symptoms can be reduced by supplying proper dosage.
  4. Either OTC or Clinically prescribed - Creams/face pack/face wash (Rs. 200 to Rs. 2000): Results last for comparatively lesser amount of time, and tanning can affect even deeper layers of your skin while these would work on only the surface level of your skin.

  • Common side effects for rest of the treatments except creams & injections:
    • Pain. discomfort, stinging (for all).
    • swelling, redness and bruising (for all).
    • Increased sensitivity to sun (chemical peel).

  • Risks following rest of the treatments except creams & injections:
    • Damage to heart/kidney/liver (chemical peel).
    • Permanent pigmentation, scarring and blistering (for all).

To get in touch with experts, refer our page - Dermatologists.

Also, drop us a message if you have city-specific preferences or any other concern, take care!

To pick a suitable specialist, discuss/look-out for these aspects:

  • Past experiences & success rates.
  • Common side effects & risks of such procedures.
  • Pre-treatment preparations & post-treatment care.
  • Candidate eligibility to undergo these treatments.
  • Your health history, present conditions, and history of family diseases, and what complications they can create.
  • Revision course in case you run into risks &/or achieve undesirable outcomes -- or correction course in case you are ineligible to undergo this operation in future.
  • Detailed information about how they will perform these treatments & what outcomes they intend to achieve (permanent cure/reducing the degree of problem/preventing further progress).
  • Pay utmost attention to hygiene and sterilized tools - as unsterilized equipment can cause infection.

  • For knee replacement the cos should be anywhere between rs. 1,50,000 to rs. 7,60,000.
  • The variation seen in the price range is due to several factors such as location & infrastructure of hospital, or expertise of doctor, and type of surgery influencing the cost.
  • If you want to learn the city-wise breakdown and about types of surgeries that come under this, along with other hidden expenses and what stages this treatment will follow, then our blog will help you with same - the knee replacement surgery cost in India.

  • If laser treatment isn't giving desirable results with regards to hair removal, then electrolysis is the only option left in our view, however, a specialist is at a better place to comment on same.
  • It charges Rs. 800 to Rs. 5,000 per hour.
    • Cost depends and can exceed our estimated range, depending on: experience of doctor, severity of concern, location of clinic, number of sessions, density of hair and area covered.
  • The temporary side effects are: pain, redness and swellings.
  • But if not done properly, then it can cause: scarring, keloid scars and changes in skin color as well.

It's extremely concerning if your right eye isn't able to function at all.

We advise you to get in touch with our specialists - Ophthalmologists, only they can determine the underlying cause and arrive at an appropriate treatment plan.

It appears to us that there's some issue with your retina, based on the symptoms you mentioned, but a specialist would know far better.

How much will cost me hair transplant of 5000 drafts: FUT 2500-2800, FUE; 1200 and beard 1000

S

Samruddhi Bhartiya

Member of team ClinicSpots.

Answered on 23rd May '24

The first thing that we would like to clear is, that we neither perform nor provide any medical treatment/surgery ourselves, we are only concerned with educating people about their possible options and which they can discuss with their doctors, or with providing other services that help such people reach their treatment destination more easily.

Coming to your query:

  • FUT per grafts costs Rs. 25 to Rs. 35, so for 2500-2800 grafts, it should be anywhere between Rs. 62,500 to Rs. 98,000.
  • FUE per graft costs Rs. 35 to Rs. 45, so for 1200 grafts, it should be anywhere between Rs. 42,000 to Rs. 54,000.
  • If you go for 1000 grafts for beard then it should be between Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 45,000.
  • To know about each procedure in-depth, or which factors to consider and safety/complications, read our blog - Hair Transplant in India.

Additionally, you can also take second opinions from other doctors - Hair Transplant Surgeons. Let us know if you have city-specific preferences, and drop us a message if you have any other concern/query!

Below is just a list of treatments options that are available to every patient, but based on your health background and severity of concern, the dermatologist will ultimately decide which course to proceed forward with.

However, you can try and enquire regarding these with your specialist:

  1. Chemical Peel (Rs. 1,800-10,000): A mixture of acids that is beneficial for skin, is applied on the concerned region of your body, in the required quantity, which dries up and is removed thereafter - this process aids in the regeneration of newer & healthier skin cells by removing upper tanned layers of skin.
  2. Microdermabrasion (Rs. 1500 to Rs. 6000 per session): Acts on the epidermis only (superficial scarring). During the treatment, your dermatologist will use a drill-like handheld appliance with a wire brush or some other abrasive as its attachment, to swipe over your skin. Same will eliminate epidermal scarring.
  3. Dermabrasion (Rs. 1500 to Rs. 6000 per session): Same as Microdermabrasion, but also reaches a part of your dermis which is a little deeper.
  4. Laser resurfacing (Rs. 4,000 to Rs. 10,000 per session): laser device breaks down pigment and reduces the appearance of tan, sun spots, etc.
  5. Microneedling (Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 25,000 per session): You will be supplied with anesthesia, followed by fine pricks being created evenly throughout face, and then there will be a gentle application of serum, which will result in growth of collagen
  6. Either OTC or Prescription - Creams/face pack/face wash (Rs. 200 to Rs. 2000): Results last for comparatively lesser amount of time, and tanning can affect even deeper layers of your skin while these would work on only the surface level of your skin.

  • Common side effects following each are:
    • Pain. discomfort, stinging (for all).
    • swelling, redness and bruising (for all).
    • Increased sensitivity to sun (chemical peel).
  • Risks for each treatments can be:
    • Damage to heart/kidney/liver (chemical peel).
    • Skin getting pierced (microdermabrasion/dermabrasion).
    • Damage to eye (microdermabrasion/dermabrasion).
    • Permanent pigmentation, scarring and blistering (for all).

To get in touch with experts, refer our page - Dermatologists.

To pick a suitable specialist, discuss/look-out for these aspects:

  • Past experiences & success rates.
  • Common side effects & risks of such procedures.

Your weight loss treatment will begin with dieting, exercise and lifestyle modifications, and in the event that they don't yield desired results, only then will you be considered for some medication or surgical treatment, but they would be parallel to your dieting, exercising, and lifestyle efforts.

  • To put you on medication, your doctor will first expect you to meet one of the following criterions, in case clinical prescriptions aren't sufficient:
    • Your body mass index (BMI) is equal to or greater than 30.
    • Your BMI is greater than 27.
    • But if you have medical complications related to obesity as well, such as diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnea, or anything else, then discuss with the doctor.
    • Note: There could be side effects & risks for each, so keep your doctor updated on regular basis.

IMPORTANT:
There are surgeries meant to remove fats, but those specific surgeries are reserved only for those individuals who are not obese/fat overall, if you are obese then you will qualify for the surgeries below that are only concerned with limiting your food intake.

  • Endoscopic surgeries: they are less invasive and are concerned with surgical procedures which limit your capacity to consume food, such as the methods mentioned below:
    • Putting stitches in your stomach to reduce its size and its capacity to consume food.
    • Or inserting a small balloon into your stomach, which is then filled with water to reduce the amount of space available. This helps you feel fuller faster.

  • Bariatric surgeries: These surgical procedures have the same role as endoscopic surgeries, but with more invasive technologies.
    • You will qualify for them if earlier treatments failed, but your BMI will have to be between 35 to 40, and especially so, if the same is coupled with some serious weight-related problem, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
    • The procedures are as follows: gastric by-pass, adjustable gastric banding, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, and gastric sleeve.

  • Vagal nerve blockade:
    • It involves planting a device under the skin of your abdomen, which will send intermittent electrical signals to the abdominal vagus nerve, it is concerned with informing the brain when the stomach is empty or full.
    • Can be used for adults who have not been able to lose weight, or who have a BMI of 35 to 45, either/both with at least one obesity-related condition.

  • Rough cost estimate:
    • The surgical procedures will cost anywhere between Rs. 2,25,000 to Rs. 7,00,000.
    • Whereas for dieting-related consultation it can vary from rs. 1,200 to rs. 20,000.

For more information regarding obesity treatment, you can visit experts - Dietitian/Nutritionists, let us know if your city is different, and drop us a message if you have any other concern!

To pick a suitable specialist, discuss/look-out for these aspects:

  • Past experiences & success rates.
  • Common side effects & risks of such procedures.
  • Pre-treatment preparations & post-treatment care.
  • Candidate eligibility to undergo these treatments.
  • Revision course in case you run into risks &/or achieve undesirable outcomes -- or correction course in case you are ineligible to undergo this operation in future.
