Do the insurance companies in Delhi cover the PET scan?

A PET scan may be reimbursed by insurance for some forms of cancer. One of the conditions that Medicare now covers includes breast cancer staging, therapeutic response, and re-staging of cancer.

Insurance companies in Delhi cover PET scans when they are deemed medically necessary and prescribed by a qualified healthcare professional. The coverage may also depend on the purpose of the PET scan, such as diagnosing or monitoring certain medical conditions like cancer, cardiovascular diseases, or neurological disorders.

When seeking coverage for a PET scan, follow these steps -

Check your insurance policy: Review your insurance policy documents or contact your insurance provider to understand the specific coverage details. Look for information regarding diagnostic imaging procedures, such as PET scans.

Pre-authorization: If a PET scan is covered under your insurance policy, you may need to obtain pre-authorization from your insurance provider. This involves submitting relevant medical documents, such as the physician's recommendation, diagnosis, and other required information.

Network providers: Check if your insurance policy has a network of approved healthcare providers or diagnostic centers. It is advisable to undergo the PET scan at an empaneled facility to ensure maximum coverage.

Co-payments and deductibles: Keep in mind that even if your insurance covers PET scans, you may still be responsible for co-payments (a fixed amount you pay at the time of service) and deductibles (a predetermined amount you pay before insurance coverage begins). Review your policy for details on these costs.

Note: The coverage and reimbursement policies can vary between insurance providers and different insurance plans. It is essential to consult your insurance company directly or refer to your policy documents for accurate and up-to-date information regarding PET scan coverage in Delhi.

Female | 49

There are specific signs such as chest tightness or shortness of breath that can be related to different medical problems, meager in severity to very serious. The reporting can be quite challenging to understand, so for me, the best approach is to talk to her doctor about them and follow the advice given by her healthcare provider. My wife is 11 weeks pregnant. She did some blood tests and one was an hiv test which came back reactive. Since then she has had 2 dna tests both negative. They are running 2 rna tests. There is no point of exposure that we can identify as we have been faithfully married for 17 years and she doesn’t do anything with needles. To me it seems like this was a false positive but I’m still so scared.

Female | 36

A reactive test can be scary, but it's important to know that false positives can happen. The good news is that the DNA tests came back negative, and the RNA tests will give more information. Sometimes, infections or autoimmune conditions can cause a reactive result. Stay calm and wait for the RNA test results. If you need more advice, please consult your doctor.

Mistakenly mentioned wrong age on quadruple test, Is the result may be accurate or not. We seen two different between quadruple and ultrasound 1. Quadruple report is not good 2. Ultrasound report is good or normal Pls kindly help me

Female | 30

The wrong age sometimes leads to wrong test results. The quadruple test checks certain substances in a pregnant woman's blood, and one of the factors that count is age. If the ultrasound report is fine and everything looks normal, it is good. Inform your doctor about any errors to ensure that they have the right information.
