About unwanted pregnancy
Gynecologist/Obstetrician
Answered on 25th Sept '24
An unwanted pregnancy is an occurrence when the woman gets pregnant purposefully without any prior planning. The symptoms may encompass missing periods or getting the sensation of being nauseous. This may ensue when either the birth control methods are improperly followed or they fail. If this is the case, visiting a gynecologist is one of the most important things.

I want to my health issues because my periods is irregular and I am not confirm
Female | 19
For many women, irregular periods are a frustrating experience. Sometimes this happens due to different reasons. Stress, changes in weight, and hormonal imbalances can all affect your cycle. You might notice unpredictable bleeding or missed periods. But if irregular periods keep occurring, it's best to see a gynecologist. They can help find and treat any underlying issues causing the irregularity.

I hive a batholin cyst please help
Female | 37
I recommend you to the gynecologist to receive a proper diagnosis as well as treatment. The Bartholin gland is located at either side of the vaginal opening, if blocked, a fluid-filled cyst can develop. Treatment involves a sitz bath, antibiotics, and surgical drainage. It is necessary to see a doctor to avoid complications.

Female | 23
Considering the prevailing symptoms you have, it is a good thing that you took pregnancy tests already. As a result of being negative, the probability of a pregnancy is low, but it does not mean that it can't happen. Your irregular menstrual periods, stressfulness, insomnia at night, and obesity, along with other symptoms can be due to hormonal imbalances, stress, or nutritional deficiencies. A visit to the gynecologist is a must. The gynecologist might suggest blood tests or other possible exams to identify the reason behind your missed periods and other symptoms.

I am 26 years old,I am having a yellow smelly vaginal discharge from yesterday, I have not seen my periods for two years first cz I was pregnant then after birth I got started on depo provera i have been off it for 3 monthsI haven't been sexually active for 4 months What could be the issue
Female | 26
It sounds like you may have a common issue called bacterial vaginosis. This problem can make a yellow, bad-smelling discharge. It happens when the bacteria in the vagina get out of balance. Not having periods for a long time and changes in birth control can sometimes start this issue. The best thing is to see a gynecologist for the right tests and treatment.

I have wart like growths formed on the external labia since last two months. Not sure if its STI or something else. The last time i got intimate was in August 2023, we used a condom and didn't have multiple partners. Should i visit a gynecologist or dermatologist?
Female | 28
One must have the wart-like growths found on the outside lips of the genitalia checked by a physician. Such growths could be due to a viral infection such as HPV which is not always associated with sexual activity. A gynecologist can help to determine what has caused them and advise on the most appropriate treatment.

I want to know the probability of my pregnancy
Female | 18
Age, timing, frequency of INTERCOURSE, and fertility all play a role in determining the probability of pregnancy. The likelihood is approximately 20-25% in each menstrual cycle. After 6 months of trying, 60-70% of couples successfully conceive... In case of unsuccessful attempts, consult a DOCTOR to assess any underlying CONDITIONS...

I had my last period on the 3rd Jan. I have a 25-day cycle with 4 days of bleeding. I had sex on the 13th I had a pill within one hour and then on the 15th of that month, I took a pill within one hour, just as a precaution.I started a light bleed from 20th to 25th Jan.The expected period date was 30th Jan of the month. But, I still have not got it.
Female | 26
Taking emergency contraceptive pills can affect your menstrual cycle and cause changes in your period. If your concerned about pregnancy then do a UPT for confirmation or a home pregnancy test.

So she had sex on 15th of jan which was 4th day of her periods and her partner didnt ejaculated at all and she took pills with 40hrs and got heavy bleeding after two days of taking pills and today is 19th of feb and she hasnt gotten her periods yet . What does this mean?
Female | 18
If your partner did not cum and you had taken emergency contraceptive pills within 40 hours after sex during your period, the pregnancy is very unlikely to happen. Possibly the tablets should blame the bleeding you had rather than your period. You can visit the gynecologist if this area concerns you to get examined and counseled more.

Am 18 yrs l had sex a week back and later had some period flow red to brown colour. Feeling like l have some fever and when l eat l feel like vomiting. After the sex incident l took p2 pills .am l likely to be pregnant because l had my periods twice this month
Female | 18
Having periods twice a month and feeling feverish or nauseous can be concerning, but taking emergency contraception (like the p2 pills) can sometimes cause irregular bleeding and other side effects. It’s important to see a gynecologist to rule out pregnancy and address any other health concerns.

I'm 19 female who using olanzapine and mirtazapine since 27, my period should've come in 28. I'm not pregnant, I might have hypoprolactinemia, my results gonna come in Monday. My period is delayed by 19 days right know. 2 year ago my period was off cycle without any reasons (maybe weather change, it was in May) and I used birth control pills and my cycle was turned to normal. Is there a chance that mirtazapine cause my period delay or is it because of seasonal change agaşn? (I do not have any health problems, cycst etc.)
Female | 19
Mirtazapine may disturb your cycle and cause your periods to be late. Seasonal changes can also be a factor. Stress and some drugs are also responsible for your period being unchanged. After you get the test results on Monday, you will be able to understand better. Meanwhile, try to calm down, drink enough water, and get enough sleep.

I took unwanted kit pills but I took 2 tablets of misoprostrol 400 mg today n I got proper bleeding should I take 2 more tablet 400 mg again tomorrow to complete course ?
Female | 24
Don’t take more tablets tomorrow unless your doctor tells you to . Severe bleeding can result from taking more tablets. Ensure that you rest and take plenty of fluids. If you have heavy bleeding, severe pain, or any other worrying signs, seek medical help immediately.

I m suffering from yeast infection which is troubling me with itching, soreness and white discharge. Please help
Female | 31
Yeast infection is quite common and can cause itching, soreness, and white discharge in your private parts which can make you feel uncomfortable. It usually occurs due to an imbalance of the yeast in the body. This may be because of things like antibiotics, a weak immune system, or wearing tight clothes. To feel better, try over-the-counter antifungal creams or pessaries. You should also keep the area clean and dry, wear cotton underwear, and avoid perfumed products. If your symptoms don’t improve after this, visit a gynecologist for more advice.

I took a positive pregnancy test presumably 4.5 weeks gestation. I am now 10 weeks gestation, tomorrow. I took a pregnancy test tonight as a result of overthinking and doubt whether I'm pregnant or not. It was negative. However, I've been experiencing tender sore breasts, nosebleeds, light cramping, back pain, feeling more hungry yet hesitant to eat much due to feeling nauseous at various times of the day and "pregnancy rage" (I'm a very calm person. It's out of charachter)
Female | 27
You've had uncommon symptoms lately. The negative test doesn't always mean no pregnancy. Early pregnancy often brings tender breasts and nausea. Nosebleeds, cramping, back pain, and mood shifts can relate to pregnancy hormones too. Take care of yourself by resting when needed, drinking enough fluids, and eating small meals frequently. If you're concerned, consult a gynecologist.

I haven’t had my period since last year around October/November! I am not pregnant nor am I on contraception. I was told I had pcos a few years ago but it has never been this bad.

Irregular or missed periods can be linked to PCOS, a hormonal condition. Since your symptoms have worsened, you should consult a gynecologist. They can consider your PCOS history, perform tests, and suggest treatments.

Irregular periods have symptoms of missed periods, like periods coming very often and lasting too long. Hormonal imbalances, stress, weight fluctuations, or health issues can cause this. Tracking periods on a calendar and consulting a gynecologist helps identify the reason and suitable treatment plan.
