Am I Contagious If Coughing After Being Ill?

He been ill last night and didn’t go school Today and been coughing aswell

Answered on 19th Dec '24

To have worries when someone is sick is a very normal thing. Conditions like colds, which may come with symptoms such as a sore throat and fatigue, could be the reason for the infection, both the common ones and the mild ones. The best cure for it is rest, water, and a diet that provides relevant nutrients. Using a humidifier will savvily ease coughing. If the symptoms do not go or get worse with some other problem, it is reasonable to discuss this health issue with a pediatrician.

Test and I am having one baby and how it is turning blue in the night and getting sick.

Male | 23

It's worrisome to see your baby turn blue and get sick. These symptoms can be a warning sign of insufficient oxygen supply, which can be rooted to obstruction of the air pipe or a respiratory problem. Other potential causes are, allergies and the environment. Check if your baby is in a comfortable position and watch out for their breathing. Make the surroundings peaceful and free of smoke. Urgently refer a pediatrician, who can perform a thorough examination and help your child so that they secure their health early. Don't forget the early stage of treatment is essential and, you need not doubt but seek for professional help to be sure that you are doing the right thing with your baby.

the patient in hospital is a young girl and doctor wants to take her C.T. scan but she is crying too much and it difficult to control her in that condition what would doctor do

Female | 6

Crying is normal when frightened. To make the girl calmer, speak softly, give comfort, and explain the scans like taking a picture inside her body. Ask her parent to hold her hand or be close while it happens. This might help her feel safer. Giving her a favorite toy or music could also distract her from the scan's happenings.

Hello doctor .had doubt on febrile convulsion.my daughter 2 years and 7 months old had febrile convulsion with fever..on March 9.at 2 am..after 35 hours had another one convulsion..after that take frisium 5mg tablet with doctor consultation..now fever gone ..is it simple or complex seizure convulsion?I had febrile convulsion at age 2 of mine? What could be reasons?

Female | 3

Your girl had seizures caused by fever - febrile convulsions. These simple seizures often last under 15 minutes, don't recur frequently in kids. Family history is common. Fever spikes rapidly increase body temperature, triggering convulsions. Monitor her temperature closely. Follow up with her doctor for proper care.

Hello is 80cm waist circumference healthy for a 11 year old boy who is 155cm tall and weighs 51kg

Male | 11

For an 11-year-old boy around 155cm tall, weighing 51kg, an 80cm waist size could be a bit large. A bigger waistline at a young age might cause future health concerns like diabetes or heart issues. To maintain good health, balanced meals are crucial. Additionally, engaging in enjoyable exercises and discussing waist size monitoring with an adult could be beneficial.

I have a daughter she is 14 months old she is a preterm baby born in 34 weeks 5 days she is responsive can talk some words like mama papa and all but not able to sit properly and walk sometime stiff her legs

Female | 1

It's good that your daughter is responsive and speaks some words. However, not sitting properly or stiffening her legs could indicate developmental issues. I recommend visiting a pediatric neurologist for a thorough evaluation and guidance on appropriate interventions.

My child doesn't speak in sentence

Female | 3

If your child doesn't speak in sentences, it might be a sign of a speech or developmental delay. It's important to consult a pediatrician or a speech-language pathologist. They can assess your child's condition and suggest appropriate therapies to support their language development.

My daughter is 12.5 years old and 165 cm tall. She already has got her period last year when she was 11. Father is 5 feet 8 inch and mother s height is 5 feet 2 inches. I'm worried if she has stopped growing. Can she get few more inches. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

Female | 12

Girls her age, 12.5, often keep on growing for some more years. Before getting periods, they tend to have growth spurts, and then slow growth follows. Since your girl had her period at 11, there might be more growing left. Things like her genes, eating well, and being healthy affect growth. Keep encouraging healthy foods, enough sleep, and exercise for her. If worried, chatting with her doctor could help.
