Ear Infection and Vertigo: Symptoms and Treatment
Ear infection and vertigo in head
General Physician
Answered on 27th Aug '24
Ear infections may give you vertigo, making you dizzy and feel like the room is spinning. Since infections impact your inner ear's balance mechanism, this happens. Ear infection symptoms are ear pain, hearing issues, and drainage. Your ENT specialist might prescribe antibiotics and recommend resting to treat the infection and vertigo.

What decongestant can i take while breastfeeding
Best is to take nasal decongestant sprays for a short duration as prescribed by your physician. It's locally acting, quick relief and a negligible amount is absorbed into the circulation.

My son 12 + suffering from tonsils last ten days .... antibiotics also given to him but he is allergic with Amoxicillin, ...He treated from bl Kapoor, with pcm, attarax & avil, cepodem 200mg....He feel pain in ears because of tonsils what medicine should give.... please reply fast
Male | 12
I understand your concern about your son's adenotonsils and ear infection. The tonsils could be causing his ear pain since they are close by in the throat. To help with the pain, you can give him acetaminophen (PCM). Make sure he continues the prescribed medications, drinks plenty of fluids, gets enough rest, and eats soft, cool foods to soothe his throat. If his symptoms don’t improve or worsen, please see the doctor again for further tests.

I am 15 years old and I’ve had a really bad tonsil pain on the right side for the last 4 days, my tonsil looks swollen and it has a bunch of white stuff around it and it bleeds every once in a while. What should I do?
Female | 15
You could have tonsillitis. When your tonsils, which are small organs in the back of your throat, get infected or inflamed, it's called tonsillitis. Symptoms may include throat pain, swollen tonsils with white patches and sometimes bleeding. To relieve these symptoms you must drink fluids, rest well, and gargle with warm salt water gently. In case they persist or worsen, you should consult an ENT specialist for further evaluation and treatment.

I accidentally drink lizoil through the nose and my nose is burning
Female | 16
When a situation like this arises, your nose can easily get very sensitive and even start to hurt. It can be that you may also find yourself sneezing or coughing a lot. To help with this, first, gently blow your nose to get rid of any leftover oil and then rinse your nose with cool water.

My nasal allergy flares up every few days and it irritates me 24 hours a day. Taking setzine tablets makes it go away. But I want it to go away permanently. So what should I do?
Male | 36
It's great that Setzine is helping you manage your symptoms, but for a more permanent solution, it's important to identify and avoid the triggers causing your nasal allergy. You might benefit from consulting an ENT specialist who can assess your condition, suggest allergy testing, and recommend appropriate treatments like immunotherapy or lifestyle changes.

I'm curious to know whether i have heard problem or no
Female | 20
The cause of this can be a result of, for example, ear infections, loud noises, or simply getting older. For instance, some symptoms that one may experience involve difficulty following the conversation, asking others to repeat themselves, or increasing the volume of devices. You can go to an audiologist for a hearing test. If needed, an audiologist can suggest many products from wearable hearing aids to an implanted hearing device.

My brother is having a chaterize procedure today but he notice that his right ear is bleeding not much
Male | 59
Bleeding a bit after getting your ears chaterized isn't rare. You may experience swelling or irritation in the ear canal, which leads to this. If bleeding is light and doesn't happen often, it should stop on its own. Use a damp cloth to gently clean around the ear, but don't put anything inside. Contact an ENT specialist immediately if bleeding persists or worsens.

I am having throat pain(itchy type) along with ear pain for three weeks. I have taken normal antibiotics but is not working
Male | 37
You likely have a throat infection along with ear pain. The antibiotics you refused might not have helped if it's a viral infection since antibiotics only work on bacterial infections. Throat infections can be caused by viruses like the common cold. Resting your voice, drinking warm liquids, and using throat lozenges can help. If the discomfort continues, seeing a doctor is the best choice.

Male | 19
You might have an ear infection, which can cause pain and disturb your sleep. Other symptoms could include hearing loss and fluid drainage from the ear. Ear infections are often caused by bacteria or viruses. To ease the discomfort, try using a warm compress on your ear and taking over-the-counter pain relief. If the pain does not go away, make sure to consult an ENT specialist for proper treatment.

My back forehead is pulling by force all of my head towards it also stiff neck on left side and confusion...I have severe sinusitis and large antrochaoanal polyps in my left side nose and continuous nasal congestion of yellow discharge and white colour lastly there
Male | 30
The symptoms that you mentioned such as the pressure in your forehead, stiff neck, and confusion could be due to severe sinusitis and polyps on the left nostril. The presence of the discharge of yellow and white, as well as the nasal congestion, is a clear indication of a sinus problem. Medication such as sinus sprays, antibiotics, or surgery mainly to clear the polyps is used. You had better consult an ENT specialist who will provide an accurate diagnosis and recommend the proper treatment for you.

I’m having Frequent nose bleeds. I’ve had them since a child. Even a slight touch inside the nose will cause a nose bleed or even if soemthing hits my nose gently it bleeds. The nose bleeds lasts for about 10/15 minutes per time and it’s a heavy nose bleed. I have my septum pierced and it only bleeds from the left nostril but even before I had the piercing it kept bleeding. I coughed the other day and it started bleeding and I even woke up and it started bleeding
Female | 22
Your nose issue is a nasal septum deviation. That means your nose's middle part is off-center. One nostril's blood vessels are more exposed, causing bleeding. The piercing might worsen it. To reduce nosebleeds, keep your nose moist with saline solution. Don't pick or rub your nose. Consider visiting an ENT expert for evaluation and treatment.

Hello doc, I’m fahmi from Ethiopia. I have sinus since when I was 10 and from the last 2 years it becomes so hard to breathe through my nose. I tried to change environment, the weather and different things but my nose still stuffy and closed. MRI shows I have infection on my top nose. Doctors just always gave me nasal drops for temporary relief. Now I have been using nasal drops for 2 years and sometimes it start adopting didn’t work by 2-3 drops and also some times it wants the stronger one like Oxymetazol to stay for longer like 8-10 hours. Please I need your help , thank you ????????
Male | 24
You may have chronic sinusitis. This is when your sinuses become swollen or inflamed. Breathing through your nose could become difficult because of this. Using nose drops gives temporary relief; however, they might not be helpful in the long run as the body would be used to them. It’s important to find out what causes these before suggesting remedies for them. Visit an ENT Specialist for more insight into the matter.

I was using airdopes from past one year .I m facing problem now . Sometime i found difficulty in talking my voice doesn't clear
Female | 19
Your vocal cords seem irritated, resulting in hoarseness. Prolonged airdope usage could be the culprit. To recover, rest your voice completely. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid whispering or raising your voice. If it persists, take a break from airdopes, letting your vocal cords heal. Consult an ENT doctor if the issue continues.

I have some undescriable thing on my ear since I was 10 years old
Female | 20
The undescriable THING on your ear could be a cyst.. Cysts can appear at any age, and they are usually benign. However, you should consult a doctor to confirm the diagnosis. The doctor MAY recommend removing the cyst if it grows or becomes painful.. Try not to irritate the cyst by rubbing or scratching it. Keep the area clean and dry.. Don't worry;; the cyst is likely not a serious health concern..

I'm Rashmi, 27 years old. I'm a tb patient. Recently from past 5-6 days I'm having headache. So went for a CT brain scan. The results were normal. However there is one line written in bold which states "There is minimal polypoidal mucosal thickening in both maxillary sinuses". Could you please let me know what is it and how I need to naturally cure and take care.
Female | 27
It appears that inflammation within your sinuses might be responsible for your headache. When sinuses become aggravated or infected, this condition arises. You may experience facial pressure, nasal congestion, or even coughing. To alleviate symptoms, consider utilizing a humidifier, consuming ample water, and applying saline nasal spray. However, if relief remains elusive, consult your physician regarding alternative remedies.
