You mentioned a lump behind your ear causing pain. It might indicate an infection in lymph nodes or cyst formation. Redness, swelling, and tenderness can accompany lumps. I am a 16 year old male, and I have been experiencing earaches that sometimes come and go, it feels only a little but is disturbing, it first happened in the right ear and then in the left ear and has been going on for more than 2 months until now, I have visited an ENT doctor and was told that my ear paper is fine, just a little red and was prescribed antibiotics and painkillers for a week but that seems to be gone a month ago, I have been feeling the pain until now, I never cover my ears when I shower because I have OCD, I also always use earphones but since I had the earache I have used the volume one to three, and I also seem to hear a whooshing and ticking sound often,
Male | 15
You've been struggling with earaches for a long time already. The redness of the ears is a sign of inflammation. Your earphones habit and not covering your ears while showering may have some impact on this problem. The whooshing and ticking sound you hear might be connected to the earaches. It may be better to reduce earphone usage and keep your ears dry. When the pain doesn't go away, check with your ENT doctor for additional tests.

I have glandular fever and was wondering if I should go into hospital or if there’s anything I can do to lessen the symptoms as my tonsils are very swollen and it hurts to talk and swallow my saliva as well as eat and drink
Female | 17
Glandular fever, also known as infectious mononucleosis, could be causing your symptoms. This viral illness makes tonsils swell and hurt badly. You may have a sore throat, swollen glands, and feel exhausted. To ease discomfort, rest well, drink plenty of fluids, and take pain medication if needed. If swallowing is difficult, eat soft foods and avoid rough or spicy items. Consult an ENT doctor if symptoms worsen.

Why I have Partial hearing loss from my left ear and when I apply pressure by closing my nose , mouth, air come out from my ear
Male | 26
The Eustachian tube is a little passage. It links your middle ear to your nose's back area. This tube can get blocked, causing partial hearing loss in that ear. When you close your mouth and nose, air might come out of your ear if you apply pressure. To help open the Eustachian tube, try yawning or chewing gum. If this issue persists, it's wise to see an ENT doctor.

When a situation like this arises, your nose can easily get very sensitive and even start to hurt. It can be that you may also find yourself sneezing or coughing a lot. To help with this, first, gently blow your nose to get rid of any leftover oil and then rinse your nose with cool water.

Tinnitus may be caused by exposure to loud noises, ear infections, or even stress. To decrease the ringing in the ears, consider using the white noise machine at night or do not play music that is too loud. Also, visiting an ENT specialist is the best option for getting a proper evaluation.

Hello. I am 21 years old male. Last night I took a tablet for tooth ache and after taking I was feeling that it is still stuck in my throat. After a hour I went to sleep with the same feeling that the tablet is stuck in my throat. I am a bit confused that while I am sleeping the tablet may have entered the windpipe instead of food pipe. Is it possible that it entered the windpipe while I am sleeping and not letting me know that it had entered the windpipe. I would be really grateful to know the answer.
Male | 21
When a tablet feels stuck in the throat, it is usually in the esophagus instead of the trachea. You would cough a lot if it got into the windpipe. Sometimes, it can be a feeling of something getting stuck in the throat because the tablet is dissolved for some time. Drinking water may assist it in its journey downward. However, if you experience difficulty breathing or acute pain, get medical treatment as soon as possible.

You might have tinnitus, which happens when you hear ringing, buzzing, or other noises in your ears. This might happen because of loud sounds, ear infections, or stress. To get over tinnitus follow the suggestions of initiating off loud sounds, cutting the stress level, and mind covering the ringing with white noise generators. In case it is giving you a lot of trouble, visit an ENT specialist for more professional advice.

Got a genuine question, been having frequent nosebleeds ( around 12 times in 14 days) and was wondering on what could be the cause or what it could mean
Male | 21
Very often the bloody nose is caused by some things i.e. dry air, allergies, infections, and high blood pressure. In different scenarios, anemia may bear a more long-term consequence including blood disorders or even tumors. You are advised to see an otolaryngologist for a thorough examination as well as opt for the recommended treatment.

I am experiencing symptoms including a runny nose, swollen eyes, ear pressure, sudden sneezing, and occasional breathing problems. I have tried various anti-allergy medications such as Baydal, Fexet D, Telfast D, and Mytika over the years, but they only provide temporary relief. This week (August 20, 2024), I used Fexet D, Azomax for 3 days, and steamed with Vicks for 3 days. It appears you are going through allergic rhinitis, which is responsible for your runny nose, swollen eyes, ear pressure, sneezing, and breathing difficulties. These symptoms have been persisting for a long time despite trying different medications. The allergy shots that you are receiving may have expired, thus not giving you enough relief. Seek consultation from an allergist to review your treatment plan and consider updating your allergy shots to manage your symptoms effectively.

पहले गले में सूजन का आना फिर गांठ का होना और दो दिन बाद कान के बाहरी हिस्सो मे सूजन के आने के क्या कारण हैं
Male | 14
A cyst, a fluid-filled sac, may be causing your symptoms. It forms in various body parts like the neck and outer ear. Swelling in the neck and a lump could signal a cyst. Cysts develop due to blocked glands or hair follicles. Consulting an ENT specialist is crucial. They'll evaluate and treat the cyst properly. Treatment options include draining the cyst or surgical removal if needed.

Am a 27 Y/O female. I got a cold about 2 weeks ago and I’m having a hard time getting over it. I still have wheezing, a wet cough, extreme fatigue, and phlegm, but my main issue is that my ear became very “stuffy” and it felt like there was fluid In Them. I wake up with drainage, and they pop often. I have pictures of my inner ear to share for more detail. I had tubes when I was young, and I had a very traumatic accident happen while they were in place, and my ears have been a pain ever since. I get extremely painful pressure when I fly to the point where I cry the whole flight if I don’t have my special ear plugs. And heaven forbid I get an ear infection. I cry anytime I have to put In ear drops

Ear pain in adults could be due to different causes, such as ear infections, wax buildup, or maybe even some problems with the jaw. It is so nice of you to give Zerodol P, it can help with pain and inflammation. If the pain is not subsiding or is worsening, go to an ENT doctor for a thorough examination and the necessary treatment.

Male | 25
You are probably having some side effects from Candid ear drops. The burning sensation and the ear blockage that happened repeatedly could be caused by an allergic reaction or irritation from the drops. It is important to stop using the drops and avoid putting anything else in your ear. Get the right treatment from an ENT doctor and ensure that your ear heals properly.

I am a 22 year old female. I have had this for 4 days now. Saturday morning I woke up feeling feverish and a sore throat, it was red and looked very inflamed. I went to the pharmacy and bought immune booster and Ibupain Forte for the pain. I have had body aches, chills, headaches and feelings of fever for 2 days after Monday morning I throat was painful and had difficulty swallowing and I could feel it was my tonsils, they looked red, inflamed and had white patches on them. Tuesday morning, I went to the clinic at pharmacy and they gave me amoxicillin and pain meds for the pain. I feel much better now however my voice is gone.
Female | 22
The symptoms you have mentioned suggest a throat infection which is most probably of bacterial origin. The white patches seen on your tonsils are another hallmark of this condition. Amoxicillin is a good step as it is the medication prescribed by the clinic that helps deal with the infection. It is vital to finish the entire course of antibiotics, which you are taking even if you feel better. Your lost voice will probably go back to normal as you continue to heal. Ensure that you get enough rest, drink plenty of water, and stick to the medication directions. If your symptoms stay or get worse, it's a good idea to have a follow-up with an ENT specialist.

Their is a growth of muscle inside my nose as a result I can't breath, used 4 bottles of otrivin but after few hours but nose blocks again

Breathing difficulties suggest a nasal polyp, a tissue growth blocking nasal passages. Symptoms include laboured breathing, temporary relief from nasal sprays, and persistent blockage. Visiting an ENT specialist is advisable for diagnosis and suitable treatment options.
