Child experiencing diarrhea and rash post pedialax suppository

Gave my son a pedialax suppository to help him poop and he’s had diarrhea for about 3days now and has a pretty bad rash from it what can I do?is it normal?

Answered on 28th June '24

The Pedialax suppository seems to have caused those side effects. Diarrhea happens when the tummy gets irritated. Rashes come from skin irritation. Give your son lots of water to stay hydrated. Put a gentle cream on the rash. If it doesn't improve soon, talk to a doctor. These issues should go away, but get help if needed. Reach out to a pediatrician for advice if concerns persist.

How can i relieve my baby from colic pain and gas. I give him colimex drops but are of no use.

Male | 2.5 months

Babies can get colic and gas. Colic is when babies cry intensely. Gas makes babies uncomfortable. It happens when they swallow air while feeding. Or, they have a sensitive tummy. Try massaging their stomach gently. Burp them frequently during feedings too. Keep their surroundings quiet and calm. Don't overfeed them quickly. Keep them upright after feedings. Warm baths and gentle rocking might help soothe them too. With these tips, your baby should feel better soon.

Baby 1.5 years old swallowed a bit of baby powder containing talcum. Does this require emergency?

Female | 1

Babies swallowing baby powder with talcum is common. Usually, it's harmless. Sometimes, it causes coughing or choking briefly. Watch for breathing troubles or stomach issues. Often, no treatment is required. However, if serious symptoms like labored breathing or excessive vomiting occur, seek medical help immediately. In most cases, everything resolves smoothly.

Hi! I just started wetting the bed two nights in a row. My friend gave me one of his kids Huggies 4t-5t Pull Ups to try. I tried one on and it fit perfect actually since I am small for my age. I woke up wet today. I also have tried out a pacifier that they gave me for better sleep for a few nights.

Male | 26

Bedwetting as an adult can be due to various reasons like stress, urinary tract infections, or other medical conditions. It's important to see a urologist to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. Using pull-ups or pacifiers may help in the short term, but consulting a specialist is the best step for a long-term solution.

Hi my baby is struggling to poop it's been 3weeks I even Change the formula but still he is 1month old he cry day and night

Male | 1 month

It seems like the kid is constipated. This is when they find it hard to pass stool. It may be due to the type of formula they are taking or insufficient intake of fluids. You can give them some water in between feeds or massage their stomach gently to relieve the discomfort. If it persists, it would be best for you to take them to a doctor who can check for any underlying problems.

My son is 3 years 7 months old. He is having ADHD and delayed speech problem. Last month he suffered from hand foot mouth infection but he recovered in few days. After that infection, his nature has changed a lot. He cries without any reason. When he gets up in the morning he cry for almost an hour. In day time also he starts crying at any time and we are unable to understand any reason for that. We try to do all the things which he likes but he only stops crying after 1 to 2 hours. The same problem happens at night also. On some days he wake up at 3-4 am and starts crying and after an hour he stops and then go for sleep. As he does not speak anything we do not understand what problem he is facing. He is also undergoing therapies for ADHD and speech delay. But at therapy centre also he keeps on crying. He was moody earlier also but after HFM infection this crying problem has increased a lot. Pls guide.

Male | 3

It sounds like your son's recent changes in behavior might be linked to his recovery from the hand, foot, and mouth infection. Such infections can sometimes cause lingering discomfort or changes in behavior. Given his ADHD and speech delay, it is crucial to consult with his pediatrician and a child psychiatrist to evaluate any underlying issues. They can provide a thorough assessment and tailor interventions to help manage his symptoms.

My 9 year old kid ate mold cake by mistake. What should we do? Do we want to take him to the hospital? Not showing any symptoms now .

Male | 9

Mold exposure can trigger health issues in some people, but not everyone is affected. It's important to watch for symptoms like stomach swelling, vomiting, diarrhea, or nausea. Generally, if the child appears well, there’s no major cause for concern. Encourage drinking water as the main beverage, and if any symptoms do appear, consult a doctor for evaluation.

Hi doctor. My baby gets cold often while ac is on but if I switch it off he sweats so much and never sleeps. He starts crying. I don’t know what to do . Please help. Thank you.

Male | 1

The situation with your baby seems to involve regulating body heat. With AC on, your little one feels cold. Without AC, they get sweaty. This happens because babies' sweat glands aren't fully developed yet. So their bodies struggle to control their temperature. To help, dress your baby in layers that are easy to remove. Keep the room around 68-72°F. A small fan can gently circulate air without making it too breezy or cold. These simple adjustments should help your baby stay comfortable and sleep soundly.

4and half year old kid, girl, in blood report CRP 21.6, getting fever frequently, head is more warm then rest of the body. git prescribed Azithromycin 200 twice a day, Cefopodoxime 50mg thrice a day, and for fever Paracetamol with Mefanamic acid as per requirement. Its about 3-4 days, but no improvement in fever, and now kid is not allowing to touch his stomach.Several vomits were during Macpod(cefopodoxime tablet) until replaced with oral suspension. Suggestions requested for food and eatings and when we should look further to be worried?

Female | 4

The fever and hot head might indicate an infection, while the vomiting and stomach ache could be from the medication. Let's switch to a different antibiotic and add probiotics to ease the stomach issues. Keep offering light, bland foods like crackers, bananas, and rice. If symptoms don't improve or get worse, further tests may be needed.

My daughter is 4 years old and still she is not talking properly. She sometimes talks but nobody understands what she speaks. It feels as if she is talking in some other language. Sometimes she speaks to herself. She repeats whatever she watches in the mobile or TV. What do you think could be the problem? I don’t think she has hearing problem then why is she not growing like regular kids. What do you think her condition is? Whom should I consult?

Female | 3

Your daughter may have a speech delay. There could be different reasons for this. Sometimes the mouth muscles are still too weak. In other cases, the problem may be with hearing or some other condition underneath. It’s good to see a speech therapist. They’ll be able to evaluate her and offer suitable treatment that will help improve her speaking abilities.
