LANAP:
- This procedure can take anywhere between 1 to 2 visits depending on the severity of concern, wherein laser will be used to target and destroy infected tissues.
- Risks:
- Incorrect heat or wavelength settings during treatment can damage gums,
- Cracks on tooth or roots,
- Surrounding tissues of the treated area can experience cell death.
- Recovery process:
- Should complete within a week's time.
- During your recovery phase, avoid brushing/flossing the affected area, rinse regularly, consume soft foods, and avoid caffeine/nicotine.
- Common side effects include: Post-operative bleeding, discomfort or pain.
- Cost of this procedure:
Will come around to 10,000 Rs to 40,000 Rs, depending on insurance provision, location of clinic, experience of the doctor, and extremity of concern, even number of sessions, or other value-added services.
Splint teeth:
- As far as splinting is concerned, you have following options:
- Occlusal (Bite) Adjustment: Involves minor reshaping of the biting surfaces of teeth, so that they don't experience a lot of force during your bites.
- Splinting: If some tooth is loose, then it can be splinted or joined together with other teeth, so that the biting force is distributed amongst a group of teeth rather than an individual loosened tooth.
Can either be done using splinting materials to bond teeth to the enamel, thus making them more rigid, or can be done by inserting a rigid metal splint inside your teeth, followed by bonding and cementing. - Permanent Or Fixed Splinting: This permanently “fixes” loose teeth by crowning them together.
- Occlusal Splints Or Guards: Bite guards will protect teeth from the consequences of strong biting force.
- Orthodontic treatment: Repositioning teeth in such a manner that they receive bite forces in a proportionate manner.
- Common side effects are: Discomfort and pain which will affect your seech and eating pattern.
- Treatment cost:
2,000 Rs to 40,000 Rs depending on the procedure used, extremity of concern, the experience of periodontist, clinic location, as well as number of visits and duration of the session each visit.
Grafts:
- This is done when there is a loss of bone observed in your jaws.
There are 4 kinds of grafts depending upon the source from which the grafting material is acquired:- Autografts: Bone taken from your own body parts, such as your hips or jaws.
- Allografts: Bone taken a different person.
- Xenografts: Bone derived from other species, such as a cow, pig, or coral.
- Alloplasts: Artificial material such as calcium phosphate.
- Side effects: Pain and sweeling
- Risks: clotting, nerve damage, anesthesia-related complications, your body not accepting the graft.
- Treatment cost:
Depending on procedure, periodontist experience, value added services, location and infrastructure of clinic and severity of concern, the cost range will come around to Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 30,000.
To prepare yourself for any of the above surgeries, please enquire with doctor regarding:
- your medical history and current problems, and how they will impact your experience and recovery,
- pre-operative measures and post-operative care,
- risks as well as compensation.

Male | 52
I understand that you may be dealing with a condition known as oral thrush. This could be a result of smoking or heavy drinking, too much caffeine, or even GERD. Common signs and symptoms include having a white coat on your tongue that tastes sour which always returns despite brushing. To mitigate this problem one should cut down on cigarettes, alcohol intake and caffeine consumption. It's best to see a dentist or an ENT specialist to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Tooth Cavity and now blood from gum is coming out , what should be the solution?
Male | 20
If a tooth is decayed, it is the result of a hole in the tooth formed by bacteria. This can cause the gums to bleed. Look out for signs such as discomfort, sensitivity, and bad breath. If you see blood from your gums, make sure to brush gently twice a day, use mouthwash, and see your dentist to treat the cavity before it gets worse.

Iam having throat pain and earache and found some black patches in my gums
Female | 19
You might be dealing with a throat and gum infection, especially considering the symptoms. The black patches on your gums could indeed indicate gum disease, which often stems from bacterial or viral infections. To alleviate your discomfort, you can try gargling with warm saline water, staying hydrated, and consulting a dentist for their assessment of the black patches on your gums.

It sounds like you might have a problem with your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) or a dental issue. It's best to see a dentist or an oral surgeon for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Avoid hard foods and take over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen. Please visit a dentist soon for accurate care.

Frenulum tear pain and irritation ............
Male | 28
A broken frenulum occurs when the gentle piece of fabric fastening your tongue or in another part of your body gets pulled or torn apart. You may experience pain or irritation, primarily when moving or moving your tongue or doing activities that affect that area. Occasionally, it may bleed slightly. Don't irritate it further to help it heal and clear it with salty water.

black and white patch inside mouth developing and shapes like a hole
Female | 17
The white and black patch in your mouth that looks like a hole is scary. A possible reason could be a condition known as oral thrush. Usually, oral thrush will seem like white patches that sometimes can change to black color. This is due to the proliferation of a fungus in your mouth. It can come about if you have a weak immune system or are taking some medications. To treat it, you may require antifungal drugs that a dentist can prescribe for you.

I have operated my teeth from a orthodontist at the age of 14 .I had crooked teeth . After investing my 1 year my teeth were aligned. I had braces these year. Now at the age of 24 I can see my teeth are aligning back to their original spaces they are getting crooked again. I want to know about what to do next.
Female | 24
It sounds like your teeth are going back to their original positions again. This is possible to happen in the case that you do not use your retainers according to the plan of your orthodontist. The deletion of the braces, and retainers are useful for keeping teeth in their new position. They are the ones responsible for the extraction of teeth which in turn migrate back. The first and the most important step to stop it would be to rank shifting to acutely wearing the retainer again. Be relaxed, talk to your orthodontist, and ask for instructions.

Dark pigmentation on mouth gums
Male | 31
Dark spots show up on gums sometimes. They're often no big deal, caused by regular things – smoking, certain medicine, extra iron perhaps. Or it may signal a condition called oral melanin pigmentation. But no need for undue worry. Simply get checked by a dentist to confirm everything is well, and obtain proper guidance.
