Which are the best hospitals in India for breast cancer treatment?
Hi, my mother has been diagnosed with a suspected case of breast cancer. The initial biopsy and a CT scan has been conducted. The CT scan suggests some lesions in retropectal lymph nodes too. And a PET CT scan is scheduled for the 25th of Jan. We need some guidance on which hospital to pick, and what should be ideal line of treatment. My mother lives in Kochi.

Hello Anju, Your mother's breast cancer is curable. In this case, surgery will be required in this case and the retro pectoral lymph nodes will be removed surgically by the Surgical Oncologist. If you live in Kochi, then it will be better that you get treated in a bigger metropolitan city like Bangalore or Chennai. In Bangalore you can either go to Government/Charitable or Private Hospitals according to your preference the benefits being government hospitals will provide free/ affordable treatment but will have a long waiting queue and on the other hand Private Hospitals will have a premium but you wont have to wait and will have the best of facilities. Government/Charitable Hospitals in Bangalore:
- Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Mariagowda Road ( Government Hospital)
- Shri Shankara Cancer Hospital
You will find more hospitals on our page - Cancer Hospitals in India.

Does they treat for last stage of Cancer
Male | 38
The end-of-life phase cancer therapy focuses on symptom management and quality of life enhancement instead of cancer treatment. Symptoms may be severe pain, weight loss, fatigue, and difficulty breathing. The causes of cancer are different but can be genetic, lifestyle factors, or environmental exposure. Treatment may include palliative care such as pain management and supportive therapy for the person to be more comfortable.

There are many government schemes and programs in India that provide financial assistance for cancer treatment like the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), also known as Ayushman Bharat. You can check if your aunt is eligible for this scheme, and if so, she can avail cashless treatment for cancer in any empaneled hospital. I’m female, 17years old. I found that there is a lump in my left armpit, it has been there fro about two years. It doesn’t hurt when untouched but can hurt alittle tiny bit when pressed on or squshed. What is it? Cancer?
Female | 17
I would suggest that you consult medical expert in the field of breast health or oncology for further diagnostics. There may be a swollen lymph node, an infection or benign growth in your left armpit and these all should not have malignancy. Don’t wait and visit your doctor immediately.

Worried I have cancer to many systoms
Male | 57
Some symptoms like losing weight, lumps, and feeling tired often make us fear cancer. But lots of other factors can also cause these signs. Weight changes, lumpy areas, constant fatigue – these might be worrisome, yet they don't necessarily mean cancer. Sure, cancer remains a possibility if symptoms persist. Many other reasons exist for such symptoms. If concerned, consult a doctor – they'll provide guidance.

I have no lumps, no changes in breasts etc. But I have pain in my armpit. It isn't there all the time, but I feel it throughout the day. Has anyone else had this? Is it just hormonal or could this be a sign of tumor and breast cancer?
Pain in the arm pit can be due to many reasons, infections and breast pathologies being most common. Hormonal changes are also associated with some pain in the arm pit areas. But it is always wise to get yourself examined by a Surgical Oncologist to rule out any pathologies associated with breasts. Self examination is the key to early diagnosis and management of Breast Cancers. Undergoing a simple Mammography can rule out any queries regarding breast lumps or tumors.

Female | 20
It is possible to diagnose breast cancer by self-examination in that you have a look and feel for any lumps or other abnormal changes in the tissue. However, please note that breast cancer can also be symptomless, so a person needs to have examinations by an endocrinologist or gynecologist once in a while.
