What medicine for 6-day fever?
I am suffering from fever for 6 days which medicine should I take.
General Physician
Answered on 6th Sept '24
It is necessary to identify the underlying cause of the fever. Fevers are a clear indication of your body fighting an infection. Frequent causes of it are a cold, flu, or, in rare cases, a disease caused by a bacterium. To help relieve fever take acetaminophen or ibuprofen just make sure that you have an adult who is supervising you. Never forget to drink lots of fluids and sleep. If your fever does not go away or you start experiencing other new symptoms, seek medical help.

You might get dizzy, have trouble breathing or your heart rate could speed up. Overdosing on chloroform is dangerous because it can lead to heart problems or even send someone into a coma. One should not waste any time seeking medical attention in such a case.

Hello. I want to ask about the risks of taking a free blood glucose test in a health fair. How high is the risk of transmitting a disease from it? Thank you.
Other | 15
The chance of carrying a disease from a free blood sugar test taken at a health fair in most cases is small. However, it is of utmost importance that hygiene and sterilization be observed in the testing process. If you have any concerns about symptoms after a test or, in the future, visit an endocrinologist for guidance and treatment.

Hii i had cough and cold 6 months back which lasted for around 2 months. Back then i noticed a swelling in the posterior part on the side of neck. Post antibiotics the swelling went down but still a small part remained. it is around less than 1/2 inch in size rubbery doesnt move and no pain or tenderness.
Female | 25
It could be that the swelling at the back of your neck is the enlargement of the lymph node due to your description. Lymph nodes may become enlarged due to an invasion by an infectious agent, including that persistent cough and cold you endured about 6 months ago. You should visit an ENT specialist who can do an additional examination and will advise you comprehensively on how to treat the swelling.

Vertigo due to indigetion
Female | 45
Dizziness or spinning sensations are vertigo's symptoms. Indigestion sometimes triggers vertigo. The room appears spinning, though stationary. Stomach upsets disrupt inner ear balance. To relieve vertigo, consume smaller portions, avoid spicy cuisine, and hydrate adequately. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor for guidance.

You've provided information about a fever lasting for three days, noting that a temperature of 100.8°F is considered a mild fever. Suggestions include increased water intake, adequate rest, and the use of over-the-counter analgesics like acetaminophen or ibuprofen to control symptoms. However, you advise contacting a healthcare provider if the fever persists or if other symptoms emerge. This guidance aligns with common recommendations for managing mild fevers but emphasizes the importance of medical attention if needed. If you have specific questions or if there's anything else you'd like to discuss on this topic, feel free to let me know!

Excessive hiccups is troubling me too much. Please give some remedies.
Male | 25
Hiccups are annoying, but there are things you can do. The diaphragm muscle contracts suddenly, maybe from eating fast, gulping air, or getting thrilled. To help hiccups stop, inhale slowly and deeply, sip cold water, or hold your breath briefly. These easy fixes usually work!

Some problems possible accessing me
Male | 42
One method of discovering if your body has difficulty or problems is by knowing what the most common symptoms are and then having them checked out. These may result from different causes such as overworking, lack of water, or some health issues that may lurk. In order to address these issues, consuming the right number of liquids, practicing certain techniques to achieve relaxation, and avoiding unhealthy food items can help a person. If these symptoms, however, remain or even get worse, then in this case, I would advise reaching out to a general physician for proper advice.

Moving to a new country with different environmental factors can expose you to various health challenges. Recurring throat pain and sore throat may be due to climate change, allergens, or stress. While it's common to experience more illnesses during initial adjustments, it's essential not to ignore persistent symptoms.
