I have a cold or flu or covid and my asthma is a lot worse than it has ever been. I am wheezing constantly and my reliever inhaler is not reducing the wheeze at all. Wheezing may be due to the mucus in your chest that is obstructing the air passage. The coughing may not be enough to dislodge the mucus. Adherence to your inhaler prescription is crucial. Sipping enough fluids and taking a humidifier can ease the mucus. Get medical help from a pulmonologist if the situation gets worse.

I’m on a medication that causes hyperkalemia if I take NSAIDs with it. I have very high inflammation, Doctors have prescribed Naproxen, Ibuprofen, Toradol and Meloxicam. They all made me ill for days. Is there any medication for inflammation that won’t interact with Hyperkalemia?

Female | 39

You are having’ medications that are causing issues with your potassium levels. You need to avoid NSAIDs such as Naproxen, Ibuprofen, Toradol, and Meloxicam because they can aggravate your high potassium levels. You may discuss with your doctor the possibility of using Acetaminophen or Celecoxib medications, as they usually do not affect potassium levels. Consult your doctor before making any changes to your medication routine.

Why is my cough somewhat black in colour...idid smoke in my past.

Male | 22

The tar and the other chemicals from smoking that are trapped in your lungs may cause you to have a black-colored cough. This means that the top layer of your lungs, which is trying to push out the harmful substances by coughing, is functioning properly. It's an indicator that the natural healing process of your body is working. To improve the condition of your lungs, it is critical to stop smoking and utilize water to clear out the tar that causes your cough.
