Pulmonologist
Answered on 24th July '24
Your cough sounds very intense. A severe cough can signify illnesses like chest infections, throat infections, allergies, or asthma. Stay hydrated, use a humidifier, and take cough medicine if required. If it persists, see a pulmonologist. Severe coughing fits are difficult. Coughs sometimes indicate underlying conditions. Persistent coughing warrants medical attention. Remedies like fluids and humidifiers provide temporary relief.

Even though you've tested negative for Tuberculosis and have no symptoms, these markings might be due to previous inflammation or infection. It's important to follow up with your doctor to make sure everything is okay before going abroad for a job. Get a thorough check-up and any additional tests your doctor recommends.

I have played national matches in boxing and wrestling. I had severe chest pain in May. If I show in the hospital, in the x-ray, it will show water in the chest, after fluid tapping, Tb will be found in that water, I was under a lot of mental stress. Because I have to take care of my house. I have been taking the medicine given by the doctor since one month, I have started boxing and wrestling training, I am feeling a little better but I am not feeling any strength in my body, can I take creatine to get strength? Please help me a little
Male | 26
Pneumothorax (TB) might be the water inside your chest. This is due to the fact that the immune system, when it is weak, can bring on the symptoms such as chest pain and tiredness. While taking medications as prescribed should be your priority, do not take creatine without your doctor’s approval because it may worsen your condition. However, for now, make sure you are resting enough, eating properly, and gradually getting back into your regular training routine.

Experiencing difficulty in breathing and feeling unusually fatigued can be concerning. These sensations might stem from various causes, such as asthma, allergies, infections, or even anxiety. It’s crucial to rest and stay calm, as stress can exacerbate your symptoms. Ensure proper hydration and consider taking deep breaths to help ease discomfort. However, if these feelings persist or worsen, I strongly encourage you to consult pulmonologist. He can assess your situation accurately and recommend appropriate treatment.

I was smoking. But I quit smoking till 2 days. Now I'm facing difficulties of breathing.
Male | 24
Experiencing shortness of breath after stopping smoking is a typical occurrence. Your body is getting used to the new environment. This may be because your lungs are now getting rid of the waste that can be left after smoking. It is a positive indicator that your body is on the way to recovery. Attempt to resume the procedure by breathing slowly and drinking water. If the problem doesn't go away, visit a pulmonologist.

Irregular Fever and tonsilitis dry cough and fever feels at nighttime and in day whenever I used to sleep
Male | 21
It appears that tonsillitis with a dry cough and irregular fever which worsens at night might be the issue at hand. Tonsillitis often brings about a throat ache and enlarged tonsils. The fever could be a result of an infection. It is advisable to take a lot of fluids and soft foods as well as resting. Gargling using warm salt water helps to reduce the pain in the throat. If the symptoms persist, visit a pulmonologist.

I believe I was inaccurately diagnosed with BA asthma. Two weeks ago I had the flu and it was a bad episode as I was exposed to cold air. For the past year or so, it got difficult for me to exercise regularly as I used to do and while climbing the stairs as well. I have coughing fits that sound strange like it's deep from the lungs. I don't think I have wheezing but I got a whistle like sound whenever I'm exhaling through my nose not mouth. The doctor prescribed to me the circular purple inhaler yet I use the blue one called vintolen as I'm concerned. The spirometry test results were normal. I want to know whether I have asthma and should use the inhaler or not as the fits increase by being exposed to smoke and so on.
Female | 23
It sounds like you've been experiencing significant respiratory symptoms that can be concerning. Coughing fits, especially when they worsen with exposure to irritants like smoke, can suggest an underlying condition, potentially including asthma. While your spirometry results were normal, it’s essential to discuss your ongoing symptoms with your pulmonologist. They can reassess your diagnosis and the appropriateness of your inhaler.

I had intranasal MRSA and my doctor prescribed me mupricion. It actually made me contagious, why did that happen? Is it common
Female | 34
You could be handling MRSA bacteria which normally causes infections. When contracted, a drug known as Mupirocin is prescribed for treatment. The bacteria may become resistant if not used properly for a long time such that it even stops working, thereby rendering one more contagious. Take note of any symptoms such as increasing redness, swelling, or pain, and consult your physician. They might need to change your therapy to assist you in feeling better. Whenever you are using your medication ensure that you adhere to what your doctor has instructed or else you may encounter some complications.

I am immune compromised and currently have Bronchitis. Today I've been using my pulseox seeing my O2 is mostly 82%-92% is this normal? My O2 has been 98%-100% until today.
Female | 32
Normally your normal B02 saturation level shouldn’t be bouncing between 82-92%. This is, in particular, a troubling case for someone whose immunity is compromised and who has chronic bronchitis. I advise you to seek help from a pulmonologist to carry out further evaluation and suggest treatment options.

Male | 24
Your packed cell volume (PCV) of 43% is within the normal range for most adults. Shortness of breath and difficulty swallowing saliva can be caused by various conditions unrelated to your PCV level. It’s important to consult a pulmonologist for your breathing issues and a gastroenterologist for your swallowing difficulties to get a proper diagnosis and treatment.

Hi doctor, my name is KALLOL Mondal, and I am 22 years old and my weight is around 65 KG. So, it's been two years since I have been smoking cigarettes, but for the last two months, I have stopped smoking. So my question is, how do I recover my lungs like a normal healthy person from the damage so far?
Male | 22
To aid lung recovery, focus on a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables, which contain antioxidants that help repair lung tissue. Engage in regular aerobic exercises, such as walking or cycling, to improve lung function and stamina. Stay hydrated to help clear out toxins. Additionally, practicing deep breathing exercises can enhance lung capacity. While many experience improvements over time, if you notice any persistent symptoms like coughing or shortness of breath, please consult a pulmonologist for personalized advice.
