The report based on an AST/ALT ratio test result shows a liver enzyme ratio of 1.77 units which is slightly higher than normal and indicates the presence of possible factors e.g. liver damage, drinking alcohol, taking certain drugs. Elevated AST and ALT levels may alert the liver damage. You can ascertain the precise state of your liver by retesting your blood after you get sober and getting the necessary advice from a hepatologist.

I have continuous hiccups from morning..can't control it
Male | 21
Hiccups are caused by a muscle under the lungs called the diaphragm getting agitated is the main reason behind it. This may be caused by the fact that you eat faster, are stressed, or swallow a lot of air. To deal with the hiccups, you can try holding your breath for a couple of seconds, then sipping cold water, or gently scaring yourself. If they persist for more than 48 hours, you should see a doctor.

My child always have a bloated stomach whenever he eats
Male | 8 years
A bulging stomach after a meal can be a result of their food choices, swallowing air, or having an allergy. Like gas from certain foods such as beans or dairy, excess calories may also be one of the main causes of such discomfort. Try smaller meals, thorough mastication, and no carbonated drinks would be good ways to address this issue. Keeping a diary of what you eat may help you find out what causes the problem. In case this problem does not go away or gets even worse, consult a gastroenterologist. They will give you tailor-made instructions and make sure that your child is not only in good health and comfort.

Back pain can be triggered by the lifting heavy objects or inappropriate posture. Stress caused by stress or some drugs can lead to the formation of ulcers. The back pain is characterized by a painful feeling and discomfort. On the other hand, ulcers bring about the stomach ache and bloating. You can soothe your back by gentle back exercises and avoiding strong spices or sour acidic foods for the wound of your stomach for bland food. Female | 26
Pain in the lower abdomen that radiates can be linked to several conditions, including complications from your previous endometriosis or ongoing abdominal tuberculosis treatment. Persistent low-grade fever may indicate inflammation or infection. It’s crucial to monitor these symptoms closely. I strongly recommend reaching out to your gastroenterologist, who can perform necessary evaluations and adjust your treatment if needed.

I will be having gall bladder operation but because of high blood sugar my operation is being delayed...my general physician gave me insulin...thus my blood sugar level decreased however my sugar level again increased...so please can you recommend me a diet chart and other measures to be taken.
Male | 52
My advice would be to see a registered dietician, who could develop an individualized nutrition plan based on your needs and high blood sugar levels. Moreover, you should adhere to the doctor's directions about insulin dosage and timing as well as accurately measure your blood sugar level. In case of any doubts concerning your gall bladder surgery, consult a gastroenterologist

Redness after poo, too much pain and lump on anus
Male | 17
You might have an anal tear that could be the cause of this issue. It might result in redness, pain, and swelling. Increasing fluid intake and consuming high-fiber foods may aid in softening stools. Prevent straining while you use the toilet. A small, warm bath for your bottom is good to use too, as a means of healing. In case of constant pain, consult a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.

Upper right side stomach. Regular it occurs. Basically in mid night
Male | 40
Recurring upper right abdomen discomfort, mainly during nights, is connected with different ailments such as digestive issues, gallbladder malfunctions, or muscle tension. Watching for related symptoms like sickness or food preferences is very important. In this respect, besides keeping a food diary to determine affecting factors, take in water and relaxation techniques near sleeping. If it persists consult a gastroenterologist.

I am 17 years old male. Had fever 10 days back, then a swollen piece on my left side of neck at backside (i think lymph nodes), also having swollen gums from 2 days. last night i had a swollen thing on upper right side of stomach, pressed it gently, some squash sound came as if some liquid popped out, after a few seconds felt burning sensation on that area. It moved to the right side when i slept on right side, moved towards upper part of navel when slept towards left side. Had cold milk but nothing felt better. What could it be?
Male | 17
Fever, swollen lymph nodes, swollen gums, and sudden swelling with a liquid sound on your stomach may be signs that infection is taking place in your body. Timely medical assistance is necessary to find out the correct cause and to treat it. Infections can be treated with antibiotics prescribed by a doctor.

Weakness tiredness anemia headache fever vomiting stomach pain
Female | Aastha
Your symptoms resemble those of a gastroenteritis infection, which is a complex term for a stomach bug. These may leave you feeling lethargic, and drowsy, and you might also experience a headache and fever. Besides these, vomiting as well as stomach aches are quite common. The most likely culprit that causes this bug is a virus or bacteria. Adequate water, rest, and the consumption of unseasoned foods are useful treatments for the illness. However, if the condition worsens, you should visit a doctor.

Mild stomach pain. Bites after a while. At last I ate chicken and fish in the afternoon
Male | 25
You seem to have food poisoning. Food poisoning symptoms may consist of mild belly upset followed by throwing up or diarrhea after some time. Emissions of undercooked fowl or fish may result in stomach pain only. To cure the situation, get enough rest, drink lots of water, and forgo eating for a couple of hours. If it so happens that the symptoms you have become more severe or remain, it would be better if you visit a gastroenterologist.

Hello doctor can I take esomeprazole whenever I get symptoms on and off for example only for a day
Female | 26
If you are having symptoms like heartburn, digestive laxatives, or acid reflux on and off, it is advisable to avoid esomeprazole as a self-medication. The possible reason for these symptoms is the malfunction of your stomach acid. However, talking with a gastroenterologist will enable you to arrive at the appropriate treatment alternative. Taking esomeprazole without appropriate consultation may not eliminate the actual cause of your symptoms.

Hello I am 13, and I have been suffering from acid reflux for about a month. I have talked to 2 doctors. I have been prescribed pepcid about 2 weeks ago. So my 2 week trial is over. But still I suffer from it. All pepcid was able to do is ease the symptoms a bit. How do I ease my anxiety and get rid of this illness forever?
Male | 13
Acid reflux can be caused by stress and anxiety, as well as dietary and lifestyle choices. You can manage stress and anxiety through relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, yoga, or meditation. If your symptoms persist despite medication and lifestyle changes, your doctor can recommend additional testing or referral to a specialist.

Female 50 years old Ogun state Sango Ota Yesterday I was having continous stomach pain accompany with back pain Today I'm no longer feeling the back pain but I'm still having stomachs Pain and anytime I go to the toilet to urinate I pass some fluids from my anus like a watery faeces. The fluid is hot.And I'm coughs a little bit Doctor please what is wrong with me?
Female | 50
You may have a tummy bug, or gastroenteritis, which makes you feel sick. It can cause a tummy ache, a thin watery bowel movement, and even a cough sometimes. The hot liquid coming from your anus is most probably diarrhea. This can happen when your stomach and intestines get irritability, usually, because of viral infections like norovirus. Staying hydrated with water or oral rehydration solutions and getting enough rest are vital. Eating light foods like bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast might settle your stomach. If the symptoms persist or worsen, it's best to consult a gastroenterologist.

Hi my name is Rachael and I recently cought the stomach flu and I need to know what else to take besides peptobismal
Female | 31
The symptoms are pain in the abdomen, vomiting, and diarrhea. Viruses are the main culprits that lead to this issue, so antibiotics are not suitable. Besides Pepto-Bismol, drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated and rested. Hands-on, dry bread like crackers and rice can also make a difference. If the symptoms get severe or last longer then consult a gastroenterologist.
