Yeah I was experiencing uti at the month of October 2024 then I went to a gynecologist she gave medicine that time it cured but later in month of dec 2024 it happens again so I take the medicine what my gynaecologist prescribed early and the yesterday after 10 days it happened again so I went to a urologist Dr he said it is because of entrococci bacteria so he gave some medicines and told me to eat curd So I want a second opinion from another urologist
Female | Diya
The fact that you have Enterococcus bacteria in your urine means that there is a special type of infection that needs to be treated with a special antibiotic. You must medicate as per the urologist's advice and introduce some substances like curd which are sources of probiotics to support your gut health. A different urologist might provide you with some guidelines or a different type of therapy just meant for you. It is vital to always seek the advice of medically licensed professionals so you and your loved ones have the greatest chance of recovery.

I am the 17 year old male who just asked about phimosis , what cream would you recommend to me to deal with this instead of surgery and also thank you for your fast reply.
Male | 17
Phimosis is a medical term that one uses when describing a condition where the foreskin is so tight that it can't be drawn back. It is possible that it can result in pain or it can be difficult to urinate. There is a wide range of treatment options for this condition, but using a steroid ointment advised by a physician is one of the most effective ones. Follow the doctor's insistence if you want to use this cream. The final option will be the operation if the cream therapy doesn't work out. You should have a conversation with a urologist about this.

Blood in urine requires medical evaluation - promptly see a urologist. Testing, like urine analysis or ultrasound, identifies causes. Don't delay seeking professional medical help.

Mam i had an un protective exposure before 8 months with a married person after 6 months from the exposure i had a penil discharge and pain while urinating symptoms found and i tested all std panel test its all showing negative results but still i have pain on penis please help me with this concern
Male | 30
If you have pain and discharge from your penis, that might be due to an infection. Sometimes those infections (like urinary tract infections or prostatitis) don’t show up on STD tests. It’s important to have a full check with a urologist and maybe some other tests to work out what’s going on. Once we know what’s wrong some treatments work well.

Male | 26
Experiencing discomfort during urination can occur for various reasons, such as urinary tract infections, inflammation, or kidney stones. It’s important to listen to your body and consider additional signs like increased urgency or changes in color. Staying well-hydrated helps dilute urine and may ease symptoms. Over-the-counter pain relievers could provide temporary relief. However, consulting an urologist is vital to determine the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment.

I'm 23 years female who keeps getting uti even after taking an injection or antibiotics now I'm suffering again from it for almost 2 days if I drink lot of water it stops if I don't it comes back pls assist
Female | 23
A UTI can bring along symptoms such as frequent urine, a burning sensation while peeing, and urine that is cloudy or has a strong smell. The bacteria invade the urinary tract, thus causing the infections. Drinking more water, on the other hand, can help to displace the bacteria. In addition to drinking enough water and urinating after sex, wiping from front to back can help keep UTIs at bay. In the case of recurring UTIs, the doctor may suggest additional tests or long-term antibiotics.

My newborn sons mom has a sti called mycoplasma and ureaplasma. I have Ben checked for all stds and this has been a ongoing issue for her where I'm accused of adultery because she has it. One doctor said a man can not transmit this to a woman. I just want a definitive answer and if so how can I be checked for this and treated.
Male | 40
Mycoplasma and ureaplasma which are classified as sexually transmitted infections necessitate concurrent treatment of the partners. Men also can transmit these infections to women, and the test for these infections can be done through a clean urine sample or swab. I suggest you go and have yourself tested and treated to prevent the problem from becoming more severe.

Hello, my mom went to the doctor for UTI symptoms. After checking her, the doctor prescribed her Ciprofloxacin. After reading the severe side effects it has, my mother is uncomfortable in taking it. Would Ciprofloxacin (antibiotic) be the first option to treat a UTI? Are there other antibiotics with less severe side effects? She hasn't taken the antibiotics as she's not been feeling well. The past two days she had chills and feeling warm. They also sent my mom her culture test a few days later after the doctor visit. They determined she has a UTI and provided a list of other antibiotics

From last three days there is so much etching and swelling in my private part I think it's urine infection so plz guide me and suggest me the treatment
Female | 39
This happens if germs invade your urinary system which then irritates. Some of the symptoms are itching and swelling in the private parts as well as a painful or burning sensation while passing urine. Drinking water can however help in washing away the germs. Proper diagnosis and treatment must be sought from a urologist who may put you on antibiotics.

Urine infection and prostrate
Male | 42
Urinary infections often present with symptoms like a frequent urge to urinate, discomfort during urination, and cloudy urine. These infections can arise from bacteria, sometimes linked to an enlarged prostate, which may cause additional issues like difficulty emptying the bladder. To address these concerns, it's essential to stay well-hydrated and consider over-the-counter medications to relieve symptoms. However, persistent issues warrant a consultation with a urologist to explore appropriate treatments and rule out any underlying conditions.

A urinary tract infection (UTI) could have spread to your kidneys. UTIs happen when bacteria enter the urinary tract. They can make urination burn. You may have to urinate often. There can be abdominal pain too. Kidney infections bring severe stomach pain and discomfort. To prevent complications, drink lots of water. Take all your prescribed medications as directed. I have been feeling the urge to urinate frequently since yesterday. It feels like it will come out in my pants. I go back after urinating and it feels like it will come out in my pants
Male | 33
It appears that your urge to pee has intensified, and you are peeing more often, which is very uncomfortable. Key contributors are urinary tract infections, which result in bladder inflammation, and other factors, e.g., anxiety, can be mentioned. The best way to gain full hydration and avoidance of caffeine helps the illness. It is necessary to have a careful sense of your own needs. You can also consult a urologist if the symptoms persist or get worse.
