White Spots on Testicles: Causes and Concerns
I have white hard spots on my balls. They sometimes itch. Do I need to be worried?
Cosmetologist
Answered on 26th Sept '24
Fordyce spots are common, small, raised white bumps on the genitals. They're harmless and don't require treatment. However, if they become itchy or bothersome, you can try using a mild lotion for relief. If the itching worsens or persists, see a dermatologist. Otherwise, there's no need to worry.

"I am 22 years old and have noticed a small, painful lump on the right side of my chin. I've been smoking for the past two months, and a few days ago, I was in an accident where I landed on my right side. The lump is painful when I press on the bone side of my chin. Could you help me determine whether this might be something serious, like cancer, or if it could be related to the recent trauma from the accident ?
Male | 22
Your doctor might be right when he says you have a painful lump on your chin that is a manifestation of the recent trauma from your accident. The fact that it hurts when you press on the bone side of your chin suggests that the impact you experienced is the cause of it. Given your young age, it's less likely to be a malignant tumor. To be safe, try applying a cold compress to help with the pain and swelling. If the lump doesn't improve or worsens, you should go to a dermatologist for another opinion.

I got a bump on my finger, it's pretty large, redish in colour, round and it has a small black point in the middle, it doesn't hurt or itch but it looks concerning. I don't know exactly when it got there but it's been less than 2 months. When i asked Mr Google, it obviously showed me cancer-related links like always haha, i don't usually take Google seriously but the thing is cancer runs in my family and my grandma is a triple-cancer survivor, including skin cancer, i'm also a smoker and i enjoy tanning during the summer, which adds to the problem. Should i be concerned or is it just medical anxiety and it's only a normal bump?
Female | 19
The bump on your finger could be a common situation called a wart. Warts are mostly painless and can sometimes have a black dot in the center. They are due to a virus which is not usually dangerous. But, if you are in doubt, the best thing is to get a dermatologist to check it.

I am 15 year old female and my lower face is darker than my upper face. It's not pigmentation or pimple patches. It's totally darker than my upper face. It starts from my chubby chicks to jawline
Female | 15
You might have a medical condition named acanthosis nigricans. It can sometimes cause the lower face to be darker than the rest. It's not dangerous but could be a sign of something more serious, like insulin resistance, that is happening inside your body. You can fix this by eating cleaner, being active, and maintaining skin health. Furthermore, consume a lot of water.

I have acne issue i was on medication azikem i took one month dose now mu dermatologist has suggested me to take accutane for 4 months, i dont want to take accutance what should i do can i have azikem for a month again because that safe than taking accutane for months
Female | 19
It's hard to get rid of acne, but Accutane can treat the serious cases. Azikem and Accutane have different mechanisms of action. Azikem targets the bacteria causing acne, while Accutane works by decreasing oil production. If your dermatologist recommends you take Accutane, they believe it is the best course of action for you. Their qualifications and experience should be your guiding principles in this matter if you want to have the best results.

from 1 week i have swelling and blisters on my penis and some sores ,Not much pain, just occasional burning and itching.please tell me what should i do in this situation
Male | 24
You may have a common virus known as genital herpes. They can cause redness, blisters, sores, burning, and itching. The most crucial thing is to abstain from sexual relationships until you talk to a doctor at a hospital or a clinic. As before, they will give the patients antiviral medication to control the symptoms and to stop the onset of the outbreaks in the future. It is important to first visit a dermatologist to verify the illness and be prepared for the treatment.

I have iron deficinicy.. my iron serum is 23. I have pigmentation on my face. I have treat my pigmentation by microneddling and prp. But i hv still dark spots on my face. When my iron deficency will be better then my skin will be clear or not???
Female | 36
The appearance of pigmentation on the face is a result of iron deficiency but not the only case. In case you still have dark spots after microneedling and PRP, make sure you consult a dermatologist. Improving iron status as a part of skin care may add to pigmentation treatment, but the key is not there.

Hello, I have a wart/verucca for a few years now, a couple of days ago it was painful and i noticed that it was all yellow around, like it was inflamed, so i tried to drain it and i cut the inflamed part to the point where all 7 layers of my skin was gone and it left a hole, the dimensions of the area is about 1.5cm and it doesnt hurt anymore, should i be concerned or will it heal on it own?
Female | 18
Cutting or draining a wart at home can lead to infection and other complications. Since you've removed multiple layers of skin and created a hole, there is a risk of infection, scarring, or delayed healing. A professional can assess the wound, provide appropriate treatment to prevent infection, and determine whether any further steps are needed for healing

External haemorrhoids without pain . But has some mass that doesn’t itch or makes it any hard for bowel moment .. suggest me some cream
Female | 21
If it is true that you have external hemorrhoids, then it means those swollen blood vessels around your back passage are the ones to blame. They may be harmless, but you feel that a bulging mass. This could be the case as well due to straining when having a bowel movement, pregnancy, or sitting in one position for a long time. To make your pain less severe, you can use the medication for hemorrhoids which you can buy without a prescription, or use ointments such as Preparation H. Spread it out over the affected area as the label says. Don't forget to include high-fiber foods in your diet, drink a lot of water, and try to be active. If the condition continues or worsens, go to a gastroenterologist for a thorough examination and advice.

I am having dull and dehydrated skin and dark spots.. Since 3 years I have pimple on nose later I poped it and it turned out to be a dark spot on my nose ???? ..
Female | 14
It seems like your skin is dry and lacks brightness; besides the pimple scars on your nose. Skin becomes dull due to lack of water in it. Spots get darker as a result of spots. Drink water and wash your face regularly using mild soap then apply lotion too. In addition, you can wear sunscreen to prevent the darkening of these patches further.

You might have contact dermatitis. It happens when something irritates your skin, like a cream or soap. The rashes, pimples on your thighs, and itching could be the cause. The swelling on your penis might be related too. Stop using the cream and gently wash the areas with mild soap and water. Keep it dry, don't scratch. If it doesn't get better, see a dermatologist.
