Can Famotidine worsen acid reflux symptoms? (Famotidine)

I'm 17 year old girl. I have been diagnosed with hashimoto's disease and take levothyroxine. Recently I got diagnosed with an ovarian cyst and I was told to take drosperinone birth control. However for the past few days I've been having really terrible heartburn and headaches and I can't lay down to sleep. My doctor said to it's a side effect of the birth control. I want to stop taking it because of the heartburn I've been getting. The doctor gave me famotidine 20 mg tablets to lower my stomach acid. From what I know, the acid reflux i have could also be from too little acid production. So will this Famotidine medication hurt me more? Is it safe to stop taking drosperinone and treat the cyst without involving hormones into my body?

Talk to your gynecologist before discontinuing Fluoridine 20 mg tablet. It is a histamine-blocker used to treat stomach acid problems and can be taken as directed on prescription without any harm. But uncontrolled discontinuation of drosperinone birth control medication may result in cyst complications.

I have my menstrual period due for 27th May, it is my Boyfriend's birthday, when and how should I start the medicine dose for delaying periods? How will that medicine work?

Female | 21

If you're considering using medication to delay your menstrual period, talk to a gynecologist first. They can guide you on using hormonal birth control pills.. Starting active pills a few days before your expected period and continuing as directed can help delay your period. Always follow medical advice for your safety.

I am a 26 year old female. I discovered fibroadenomas in my breast when I was 18. I have 8-9 lesions in each breast, not big ones. I get them checked every year. Is this something I need to be worried about?

Female | 26

It is good that you check your breast lumps every year. Fibroadenomas are growths in the breast that are not cancer. You may feel a lump or see changes in breast shape. These lumps happen when gland and tissue cells grow too much. Most times, no treatment is needed if the lump does not grow or hurt. Keep seeing your doctor each year, and you will be okay.

I missed my periods yesterday and took beta HCG blood test today. I turned -ve. Is there any hope for pregnancy few days after?.... Please confirm

Female | 25

Missing a period does not confirm pregnancy, there may be other factors involved; Beta HCG is reliable for early detection of pregnancy; A negative beta test indicates the fact that you are not yet pregnant during testing. Re-test if your period still disappears after seven days or so and seek out professional medical assistance
