Is there a possibility of heart disease if ECG is normal?

Patient's Query

My mom who is 70 yrs old has high BP and at times feels too dizzy and has pain in her hands starting from shoulder to fingers and gets palpitations. Her ECG report is normal. Is there a possibility of heart disease if ECG is normal?

Answered by Dewangi Newaskar

Your mother is 70 yrs old and is also having blood pressure. Considering her age definitely you must rule out cardiac component even though her EGG is normal. Secondly, after ruling out cardiac component please show to an orthopedic to check for spondylosis as she is complaining of pain in both the hands. So you must first consult a cardiologist and then an orthopedic. Hope our answer helps you.

I’m a 55 year old female. Have undergone bariatric surgery in 2014. I weigh 70 kgs now (earlier 92kgs). I do not have any diabetes or blood pressure. My heart rate is always on the higher side. Especially since a year. I’m taking deplatt cv 10 since October 2020 once daily as prescribed by a cardiologist. My angiogram shows 40% blockage in the LAD. KINDLY ADVISE.

Female | 55

Please have a healthy lifestyle like eat healthy, do exercise daily, sleep well ,stop smoking and drinking if you do etc. Stay away from stress and tension to reduce your heart rates. You can also go to a cardiologist for discussing more treatments that can work for you. I hope this answer proved useful.

Female | 37

It is possible that a more serious underlying condition causes the pain that you are experiencing. For this reason, it is important that you continue to follow up with your doctor to ensure that the pain is not caused by something more serious. Your doctor may recommend further testing, such as an MRI or CT scan, to better understand the cause of your pain. It is also important to watch for any other symptoms that may have developed since the pain began, such as shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chest pain, or palpitations. These symptoms may indicate a more serious problem.

Male | 35

If you have a level of cholesterol that is way higher than normal, a cardiologist consultation is a must sooner rather than later. They will, therefore, be able to prescribe medications as well as recommend lifestyle changes like taking a balanced diet and exercising.
