Lower Left Abdominal Pain When Sitting: Causes & Relief
Pain in lower left abdomen when sitting but no pain when standing or laying down
Surgical Gastroenterologist
Answered on 11th Sept '24
You have discomfort in your belly's left lower area. This happens when sitting down. Little pouches in your colon may be inflamed; that's diverticulitis. Other signs: bloating, hard or loose stools. To ease the hurt, eat foods high in fiber and drink lots of water. But, if pain persists, it's wise to consult a gastroenterologist.

My sister have annal issue.. A tail like structure comes out partially. He is suffering from partial pain..
Female | 34
Anal fissures cause a tear in the anus lining. Bowel movements become painful. A small piece of tissue sticks out too. Keeping clean, eating fiber, drinking water prevents constipation. That helps a lot. Over-the-counter creams provide relief too. Your sister likely has an anal fissure condition. Symptoms match what you described. Proper care is important for healing. Fiber, water intake, and hygiene make a big difference. Medicated creams also ease discomfort and promote healing.

I have stomach pain after a two day water fast it comes and goes. It can start up if I lay down on my left side.
Male | 26
Gastritis, an irritation of the stomach lining, seems likely. Fasting may have contributed to this issue. The pain is usually a dull ache that comes and goes. Lying on your left side might worsen it because of your stomach's position. To manage this, try eating small, frequent meals for a while. Avoid spicy or acidic foods for a few days. If the pain continues, consult a gastroenterologist.

I am 24 years old , female , weight around 49 kg , height 5'2" . Past three days I am extremely experiencing loss of appetite, I suffered through runny nose then blockage of nose after which I spit mucus through my throat and for which I always feel like I am going to vomit also not feeling at all to eat anything which in turn making me more tired and fatigued by the end of the day . What I should do to increase my appetite or so that some interest I would get to eat something.
Female | 24
A common cold can make you lose your appetite. Typical cold symptoms include a runny or blocked nose, mucus in your throat, and nausea. To improve your appetite, drink plenty of fluids, stay hydrated, and eat light, easy-to-digest foods like soups, fruits, and yogurt. Give yourself time to recover and rest. If your symptoms don't improve or get worse, contact your doctor for further advice.

I eaten good health capsul for health gain but now i am fasing heavvy gasto problam i cannot eat anithing . day by day i lose my weight plz help me
Male | 23
The health pill you took made your stomach upset resulting in a lot of gas and food not going down. It may be a side effect of the pill. The best thing to do right now is to discontinue using it and concentrate on mild, easily digestible foods such as crackers, rice, or bananas. Make sure you take a lot of water to keep yourself hydrated. If the condition persists or worsens, seek medical advice from a gastroenterologist.

I am 22/F having a symptoms of stomach bloating. What should I do now
Female | Priyadharshini
If you have been experiencing stomach bloating, there is no need to worry about your digestive health. This often happens when you feel bloated when your stomach is full or swollen. It could be due to eating too fast, swallowing air, or eating certain foods. The best way to avoid this is to slow down at the table, avoid fizzy drinks, and refrain from eating anything that causes bloating, like beans and broccoli. Otherwise, you can consult a gastroenterologist for a thorough check-up and proper treatment.

I am55 years old lady suffering from upper abdomen pain after having meals my stomach feels floating i cannot eat properly . and always i am having short essay of breath Last five months back i was admitted in the hospital for stomach pain and severe animea i took 4 unit blood since my hemoglobin was 5 that time the dr did endoscopy and colonoscopy but my colonoscopy swas ok but endoscopy Hiatus hernia grade 2 was diagnosed but still I facing the same problem
Female | 55
The grade 2 Hiatus hernia, which you were diagnosed with earlier, could be the causing the symptoms. This is a situation in which your stomach part is being pushed back up into your chest. Making changes to your diet, eating less food, and steering clear of your trigger foods can make your symptoms go away. Your gastroenterologist needs to keep checking you to make sure your condition is being managed properly.

I am 42 year old male, having acidity and mild pain on upper side of abdomen,I am using antacid but after 2-3days relief, today it again started.
Male | 42
It sounds like you're experiencing severe acid reflux, which can cause pain in the upper abdomen. This happens when stomach acid backs up into the esophagus, leading to discomfort. To help manage this, try avoiding spicy and fatty foods, eat smaller meals, and remain upright after eating. You might also consider taking antacids or acid reducers. If the pain persists, it's best to consult a gastroenterologist.

Female | 42
You may be gaining weight because of a stretched stomach pouch or an enlarged gastric sleeve opening. Other causes, including hormonal changes or lack of healthy diet and physical activities may also play a role. I suggest contacting a bariatric specialist to address the problem and determine possible solutions.

Hlo mam I'm 19 yrs old I'm having abdominal cramps in lower right abdomen, left, sometimes back, also having mucus along blood in stool sometimes, fatigue this happening not continues for weeks
Female | 19
You are likely enduring some digestive issues. The cramps in your lower abdomen, which transfer from right to left, and even to the back, as well as the mucus and blood in the poop and fatigue, can be signals pointing to the fact that your gastrointestinal system may be out of balance. Such symptoms may appear in conditions like Crohn's disease or an infection. It's crucial to undergo a thorough physical examination with a gastroenterologist who can identify the cause and provide the treatment.

My mother is experiencing stomach ache in the lower abdominal portion . The pain is neither to fast nor to slow, but it happens continuously. Whenever the medicines given the pain goes away. Otherwise no symptoms were notified. What should I do now?
Female | 58
This type of pain may occur due to many reasons like gas or a digestive problem. The fact that it disappears after taking the medicine means that it is related to the stomach. To help her heal have easy digestion foods, and drink enough water. If the pain does not stop or becomes unbearable, it is important to visit a gastroenterologist to find out the specific issue.

Hlo ma'am mai 3 may ko unwanted 72 tablet Li thi aur kl se mere pet me drd h aur loose motions h kya kru
Female | 25
I understand you’re feeling sick after taking Unwanted 72. The pain in your stomach and diarrhea can be due to the side effects of the drug. This happens because it contains hormones that affect your body. Drink lots of water so that you don’t get dehydrated. Eat light meals such as bananas, rice, and bread. Take a rest and do not eat spicy or greasy foods. If the symptoms persist then please visit a gastroenterologist.

Female | 22
If a person has ongoing diarrhea for a week without stomach upset or fever it can be a symptom of several conditions, like food poisoning, IBS, or IBD. Candidates should visit a gastroenterologist to diagnose the root of the problem and to get the proper treatment as prescribed by them.

I am ramesh. I have loose motions from last 15months. I was used some medications. When I am using medications, the problem comes down and after that the problem remains same. Some of the foods not digesting properly. Please suggest any solution. Due to loose motions high burfing is comming from buttock.
Male | 29
Several things can cause this such as infections, food intolerances, or underlying health issues. Since you haven’t been cured completely by any drugs, it’s good to concentrate on your eating habits. You should stay away from spicy or oily meals and go for those that are easy to digest like rice, bananas, and toast. Ensure that you drink a lot of water so as not to be dehydrated and think about including probiotics in your diet to help with gut health. If this problem continues then please seek medical attention from a gastroenterologist.

Male | 23
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease can progress to fibrosis, which is the scaring of the liver. Healthy weight loss through diet and exercise can play a key role in the liver's health. The liver is capable of some self-repair, but the damage from serious scarring is probably not going to be reversed completely. Following your doctor's advice, taking your medication, and lifestyle changes to support your liver health are essential.
