We are aware of some types of intraocular lenses for cataract surgery as mentioned below:
- Fixed-focus monofocal: Characterized by single focus strength and only used for people with distance-based vision issues such as hyperopia or myopia.
- Accommodating-focus monofocal: Also characterized by single focus strength, but they give you the ability to shift focus on either near or distant objects by responding to your eye muscle movements.
- Multifocal: These are bifocal lenses, wherein different areas of the lenses will have different focusing strengths, thus enabling near, medium and far-sighted vision - they are customized to meet your specific vision-related needs, and wouldn't need adjusting.
- Astigmatism correction (toric): If you experience blurriness at any distance due to natural but uneven curves of the cornea of your eyes as well as its internal lens, then these lenses can help in vision correction.
Within the aforementioned lenses itself, you might find even more variations along the following lines:
- Material that they are made out of (plastic, acrylic or silicone).
- Ultraviolet light-blocking ability.
- Other features that can help in reducing incisions made to install these lenses, or which can also lower the number of stitches done so as to fix them
But with regards to this particular aspect, every hospital/clinic will have different options, so you need to enquire and find out for yourself - visiting hospital websites will help!
While not lens-specific charges, but the broader cost of this operation will fall somewhere in the range of Rs. 2,00,000 to Rs. 2,41,000.
We will advise you to discuss additional features and their impact on the overall cost of surgery, also their benefits as well as risks, with your doctor. But if you want to find more hospitals just to know about how they approach this surgery, then our following page might help - Eye Centers in Hyderabad.

my left eyelid twitches. Both of my eyes are so crusty that all eyelids are covered with a white, dry film like fine table salt (I have been suffering from dry eyes since 2011). I have been suffering from twitching eyes, namely the left eyelid, for almost 3 weeks. Do you recommend a specific ointment? I was about to order this (Terramycin Eye Ointment 3.5 g)
Male | 31
That crusty film on your eyelids could result from dry eye syndrome, leading to the twitch. Terramycin Eye Ointment might help with dryness and irritation, but double-check with your eye doctor before using new meds. Try a warm washcloth compress on your eyes and some OTC artificial tears for relief.

Female | 21
The results of eye surgery can be helpful for your vision. Generally, when your eyes suffer from cataracts, you may tend to see things more or less, have problems with color, and even have trouble with night vision. Cataracts are the result of the lens of the eye becoming cloudy. The surgery involves removing the cloudy lens and replacing it with a clear artificial one. This stuff can make you see better.

I have specs . My vision in right eye is 6/12 and in left eye is 6/6 . I have been wearing specs for 1 year, and now I have a doubt about it . Should I wear my specs full time ? Or should I wear them while reading, writing or using phone and TV? If I use my specs full time with a minor problem like this ( I think so) will it lead to a condition where I can't see anything without specs? This has been a concern for about a week now . Please help me with this.
Male | 16
According to your vision prescription, wearing spectacles every single day is the way to go. It enables your eyes to coordinate better and reduces the possibility of strain, which is particularly important when doing activities such as reading, writing, or using screens. The spectacle usage regularly you wear wouldn't make your eyesight worsen; it only allows you to see better. If you have any new symptoms or concerns, like headaches or blurry vision, reach out to an eye specialist.

The condition affects the eyes thereby causing visual problems which include difficulties in seeing at night, tunnel vision, and loss of peripheral vision. Instead, there are several treatments that can assist in the management of the symptoms and the slowdown of the disease's progression, such as vision aids, genetic counseling, and lifestyle changes. While working, a liquid splashed into my eye. I am unsure of whether it was water or liquid bowel movement. I have no pain or discomfort in my eyes. Is there any need to worry at this time?
Female | 23
It's important to rinse your eye with clean water immediately to remove any residue, even if you're not feeling pain or discomfort. Sometimes, even harmless-looking liquids can cause irritation or infection. To be safe, I recommend visiting an eye specialist who can examine your eye properly and give you the right advice.

I am 19 years old and I have little bit pain in my eyes since 3 days ago. In the morning i washed my face with cold water and after that I'll get some relief but then again it stated pain in my eyes
Female | 19
Eye issues can be challenging, especially when you are young. At 19, eye pain may seem unusual, but there could be simple reasons behind it. One reason may be dry eyes from cold water exposure. Another could be eye strain from too much screen time. Staring at screens for long hours can make your eyes tired and sore. To take care of your eyes, take breaks from screens often. Look away every 20 minutes for 20 seconds. Blink frequently to keep your eyes lubricated. Use eye drops for dry eyes to keep them moist and comfortable. If the pain persists, visit an eye doctor. An eye specialist can examine your eyes, identify the root cause, and provide proper treatment to relieve discomfort and prevent further issues.

Hello I am looking for a treatment for an eye whose nerves have stopped functioning.
Male | 60
You might be affected by a disorder of the eye, where the nervous cells in the eye are not working properly. This may be due to aging, high blood pressure, or diabetes. Nevertheless, it also might be that a person exhibits signs of blurred, partial, or total vision loss. Treatments for that might include taking special eye drops or doing procedures that will be put in place to protect your nerve endings that are situated in the eye. Your optometrist can prescribe eye drops or other medications to improve your vision.

I have amblyopia, one of my eyes are lazy, I want to know if it can be treated by patching ?
Female | 21
Lazy eye, also called amblyopia, makes one eye see poorly compared to the other. It leads to blurry eyesight, doubled vision, and trouble perceiving depth. Children frequently experience this condition. One treatment involves patching the stronger eye, forcing the weaker one to work harder. This may enhance vision in the lazy eye. If symptoms occur, seeking an eye doctor's advice becomes crucial for suitable treatment.

Drop of alcohol got into my husband's eye washed it but he has some discomfort what to do
Male | 56
Your husband got alcohol in his eye by mistake. Irritation often happens then. Alcohol bothers eyes, making them sting, redden, and water. First, rinse his eye with cool water for around fifteen minutes. Have him blink repeatedly to flush it out thoroughly. If discomfort remains, try over-the-counter artificial tear drops to soothe irritation. However, if discomfort persists despite these measures, visit an eye doctor.

Eye twitches can happen for different reasons. Stress, fatigue, and too much caffeine can cause this issue. To find relief, try relaxing, getting proper sleep, and limiting caffeine intake. Additionally, eye strain may contribute to twitching. Taking breaks from screens and using warm compresses could help. However, if the twitching persists or becomes bothersome, it's recommended to consult an eye doctor.
