what are ovaries attached to after hysterectomy?

What are ovaries attached to after hysterectomy?

  • The fallopian tubes connect the ovaries to the uterus and abdomen (suspensory ligament for connecting the abdomen).
  • But after uterus removal (hysterectomy procedure), your surgeons reattach your ovaries to the fallopian tubes itself.
  • Post hysterectomy, your small and large intestines, will move to occupy most of the space that your uterus once occupied.

Hope this answers your question!

Since hysterectomy tends to leave your abdomen hanging, thus you can combine this procedure with a tummy tuck as well!

For more information, you can call our helpdesk, or connect with surgeons listed in India and Turkey specific pages.

After a hysterectomy, the ovaries may or may not be removed depending on the type of hysterectomy. If the ovaries are left in place, they remain attached to the pelvic sidewall and are typically connected to blood vessels called the ovarian vessels.

After a hysterectomy, if the ovaries are preserved, they remain attached to the blood supply and supportive structures within the pelvic region. Specifically, the pelvic sidewall through ligaments such as the ovarian ligament and suspensory ligament. These ligaments, along with blood vessels, provide the necessary support and connection for the ovaries to continue functioning and producing hormones.

The ovaries may or may not have been removed after a hysterectomy-an operation in which the uterus is taken out but it depends on what type of this procedure was. If the ovaries are kept, they stay at the inner side of pelvic cavity or on its wall. They are generally linked by ligaments and vessels that supply them with blood, providing a stable location in the pelvic region. These ligaments hold the ovaries in place and supply them with blood. If ovary is also taken out during the operation (oophorectomy), surgeon will andingly detach ligaments along with blood vessels to keep area attached for avoiding any complicacy. The particulars vary, depending on the surgical approach and specific patient factors talked about by a health care professional with the deciding individual.

If a surgery stitches is broken and how long should keep ,after broke and what caring medical attention we should we give?????

Male | 33

A broken stitch can cause redness, swelling, or tenderness. This might happen due to the strain on the area during the moving. To take care of it, keep the area clean and dry. You can use a bandage to cover it. Seek medical attention immediately if you find any symptoms of infection such as pus or increased pain.

A nurse wiped the arm with alcohol and then touched the arm to check the nerve with bare hands and then injected the needle to collect blood. She didn't even sanitized her hand as I saw her drawing other patients blood. Could it transmit HIV or hep b?

Male | 23

The risk of HIV or Hepatitis B infection from the scenario you told me about is extremely low. HIV and Hepatitis B are primarily transmitted through the infection of the blood of the infected persons. The symptoms may include being feeble, jaundice, or flu-like symptoms.

I had a gallbladder removal surgery and my scrotum is swollen and filled with fluid after that. Is it normal or I need to take some treatment ?

Male | 33

It’s common to feel concerned if your scrotum enlarges after gallbladder surgery. This condition, known as a hydrocele, occurs when fluid accumulates around the testicle. It happens because your body needs time to absorb the fluids used during the surgery. Fortunately, most hydroceles resolve on their own within a few weeks. However, if the condition persists or causes discomfort, consult your doctor. They can recommend treatments such as draining the fluid or surgery if necessary and will guide you to the best option.

Mera laparaotomy karwane ke liye doctor ne bola hai per mujhe ye bho bola jaa raha hai ki is operation me mere pait ko beech se poora khola jayega. kya ye sach hai?

Male | 37

Laparotomy is a type of surgery where the doctor makes a large incision in your abdomen to see inside and fix any issues. It is done for serious problems such as a blocked intestine, organ health issues, or tumors. During the operation, the doctor opens your abdomen and carefully checks and treats the problem. Following your doctor's advice is the best way to achieve the health results.
