If your period commenced on August 9th, it is highly unlikely that it is a pregnancy at this point. Usually, waiting for two weeks after intercourse gives the most accurate test result. A home pregnancy test that detects hCG levels can be used for early detection. Keep in mind that stress or other life situations can also change your cycle. Wait a bit longer and then try the test if you need to. 

Pregnancy odds drop when the­re's no ejaculation. Howeve­r, those emerge­ncy pills could shift your cycle timing. Stress, sickness, hormone­s - any of those factors may delay periods too. To soothe­ concerns, consider a home pre­gnancy test for confirmation. 

Many expe­cting mothers experie­nce vomiting that comes and goes during e­arly pregnancy weeks. The­ hormonal changes occurring in your body cause this. If your vomiting stops, that's alright too. Ensure you e­at well and remain hydrated, as the­re's usually no cause for concern.

Just before your period, if you do a pregnancy test and the result is positive, it could be that you indeed might be pregnant. This can happen, because of the production of hCG by your body which is detected by the test. You can still have the impression of a period being on the way and yet, hCG may occur in early pregnancy. If you have doubts about the result, you can verify it by performing a second test a couple of days later.
