Why does sexual thought cause semen release in teens?

I'm a 16-year-old boy. I have a question. One day, I had a sexual thought and my semen came out, which is causing me anxiety. Now, I'm afraid that whenever I have a sexual thought, my semen will come out again. Why does this happen? Please explain in detail.

Answered on 11th Jan '25

It's completely normal for adolescents to experience spontaneous ejaculation, often linked to sexual arousal or thoughts. This is a natural part of puberty, as your body undergoes various changes. Such occurrences can happen unexpectedly and are typically nothing to worry about. To manage anxiety, consider directing your thoughts towards activities that engage your mind, like sports or hobbies. If these feelings continue to cause distress, it can be helpful to talk to a sexologist who can provide reassurance and guidance.

Am i at risk if i smoke with someone who has genital herpes

Male | 27

Herpes simplex virus leads to genital herpes. However, smoking with someone infected won't transmit it. Blisters, itching, and genital pain indicate infection. The virus spreads through skin contact during sexual activities.

2 weeks back me and my wife were sexually active. I did not enter her and i did not ejaculate next to her vagina. but she had rubbed her vagina on my penis for 10mins during the activity. Will the pre ejaculation fluid from my penis around her vagina (not much at the entrance) get her pregnant? Its been 2 weeks and she has not had any symptoms but her periods have been delayed for almost a week. Should i be concerned?

Male | 25

The risk of pregnancy from pre-ejaculation fluid outside the vagina is very low (but not impossible). The sky-high record for the lower cases of late periods your wife is facing could be of various reasons like mental stress, hormonal imbalance, or many other factors. Diving this into a regression, I recommend a pregnancy test to take a break from the worries. Be sure to use contraception methods in the future to avoid any troubles.

I've been struggling with frequent urges to masturbate and I'm not sure how to overcome this habit. It's becoming a daily struggle, sometimes happening multiple times a day. Does anyone have any advice or tips on how to manage or reduce these urges ?

Male | 22

This feeling is common; don't worry. However, if it's really troubling you, it may indicate stress or other issues. Try discovering new hobbies or workouts to occupy your thoughts. Confide in someone trustworthy about your emotions. Engage yourself – perhaps read, draw, or take a stroll to divert your mind.

Can hiv be transmitted to my partner while I'm on pep medication

Male | 23

If you take PEP drugs, you can still transmit HIV to your partner. The medication reduces risk but doesn't prevent transmission completely. Symptoms like fever, body aches, and swollen lymph nodes may occur with HIV infection. Using condoms consistently during sex is crucial for prevention.

I am 50 year old hypertensive patient with diabetes 2. I had a brain stem stroke in 2012 and recovered. Now i am taking following medicines : Blood pressure: Azilsartan 40mg , Blood thinner : clopitab 75mg Diabetes : Stigliptin phosphate hcl 50/1000mg Depression: Sertraline 50mg My question : can i take viagra as i am facing erectile dysfunction.

Male | 50

Erectile dysfunction can stem from various factors, including your medical conditions and medications. Viagra may help alleviate this issue, but it's essential to consult a sexologist before starting it. They can evaluate your health history, including your stroke and hypertension, and ensure that there are no potential interactions with your current medications. Open communication with your doctor is crucial for safe treatment options. Remember, many people experience this, and there are solutions available.

Dear Doctor, I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to discuss some concerns that have been affecting my mental and sexual health, specifically related to my use of pornography and its broader impact on my life. I am a male, 26/27 years old. No health issues. I've noticed that my consumption of pornography and engagement in cybersex have escalated to a point where they negatively affect my life and relationships. My need for increasingly explicit material to achieve sexual arousal has grown over the years (a phenomenon called "Desensitization" i believe), and it's become apparent that this pattern is not sustainable. I've observed that this habit has not only affected my ability to enjoy real-life sexual encounters but has also contributed to the deterioration of my previous relationship. At times, I had found myself needing to think of pornography to maintain an erection during sexual intercourse. In an attempt to address this, I've tried to quit watching porn, only to experience a significant drop in my libido and desire for sexual activity. This "flat line" phase, as it's often referred to in various forums, has left me feeling worried and uncertain about the path forward. Of course, i started watching again, just to make sure that everything is normal. The first couple of times, the erections were weaker than usual. I understand that the body of scientific research in this area is still evolving, and there seems to be a lack of definitive guidance on dealing with these challenges. Given these complexities, I'm seeking your professional advice on several fronts: 1- Is the "flat line" phase a recognized scientific phenomenon, and what does current research say about it? 2- Considering my concerns about the long-term effects of abstaining from pornography and reduced masturbation, what guidance can you provide? I'm particularly worried about maintaining sexual function, including erectile strength and ejaculation control. 3-Could you suggest any scientific, medical research articles or resources that could offer more insight into these issues? Your expertise and any evidence-based recommendations would be immensely valuable to me as I consider my next steps. Many thanks for your time and consideration. Kind regards,

Male | 26

It is crucial to realize that gaining an excessive amount of pornography and cyberspace ultimately results in being desensitized, and it has a negative impact on sexual encounters with real living partners and relationships.

The "flat line" effect, that you brought up, is also a commonly displayed problem where former porn addicts may experience a drop in their sex drive and arousal. But for now, the findings are not substantial, more studies are required to distinguish porn effect on sexual function from its own.

With regard to facilitation, many people have found it immensely helpful to consult a professional mental health care provider, such as a therapist or a counselor, and avail their expert help in dealing with this problem and addressing any underlying psychological factors. A sex therapist may possess skills in counseling individuals with sexual dysfunction or enhancing sexual functions.

Your well-being is of top concern and seeking the help of a mental and sexual health specialist can provide you with the needed information when making a decision about your next step. In this connection, I suggest you talk to a psychologist or sex therapist, whose main professional concern is the issues you are experiencing, for more help and support.

Best regards,
Dr. Madhu Sudan

My new girl tested for hsv2 igg. Her result was negative 8.0u/ml. Under 20 is negative. When i tested myself, my results always under 4.5. She had an oral outbreak in the moment of testing from hsv1. Could it affect her hsv2 result? https://ibb.co/sjfCf9N . Can we safely have sex? I'm worried about that 8 number although is in negative range.

Female | 36

It is recommended that you consult a specialist to clarify these issues. There is an oral lesion from HSV-1 upcoming, so it could affect the HSV-2 test results. I will advise going to a doctor who deals with sexually transmitted diseases for an accurate image.

I am 43 years male l have Erectial dysfunction and i have diabetes from Last 8 year now I lost total erection I used viagra 100 mg but no response

Male | 43

This trouble can occur in diabetic males. This is due to damage to blood vessels and nerves. The prescribed treatment will depend on how severe and resistant your condition is. Besides Viagra, your doctor will inform you of other remedies that you may want to use together with Viagra to see whether there is any improvement. They can also advise you to try counseling or other psychological treatments that can be helpful for you and your partner.
