What you are describing is a dry mouth, which is not a disease in itself, but a symptom.

  • This symptom either signal towards some underlying disease, such as:
  1. Diuretics,
  2. high blood sugar,
  3. Cancer of the salivary glands,
  • Or it can also be a resultant side effect produced by the following:
  1. Dehydration,
  2. Stress,
  3. Nervousness,
  4. Sjögren’s syndrome (an autoimmune disorder),
  5. Antidepressants,
  6. Painkillers,
  7. Sinus medications,
  8. Diabetes medication,
  9. Cancer treatment

This doesn't give us enough insights into how raised it is, what shape it is, in which part of mouth is it located, when did you notice it, whether any recent even took place which could be tracked and linked with this, and what other signs may have gone undetected, and such things can be learned with personal evaluation only, so seek advice from a dentist, our page will help you find them - Dentists in Mumbai. get the dental x-ray done & then we can see what has to be done. one could try to save it with a root canal with a post & core , if not then extraction & implant

Hi
if you want a quick treatment you can go for tooth colored composite fillings or pircrksin veneer .
But bothe these treatments have to be redone after few years
Long term treatment would be braces but more permanent.

Answered on 23rd May '24

Depends on whether your Root Canal Treatment is properly done or not first; is there any secondary infection? You have got crown fitted or not after RCT? if not then it should be done because the load will increase and will cause a pain if no crown.so lots of reasons might be the reason for the pain .Consult a dentist n get a x ray done

First and foremost, for proper dental hygiene you should focus on preventing plaque buildup by following the tips that we have given below:

  • Brush twice a day, two minutes during each session.
  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush to cover corners between teeth as well as gums, where plaque can hide, and also use your toothbrush on those areas where your teeth meets your gumline.
  • Use a fluoride-based toothpaste.
  • Floss once every day and also clean your tongue regularly.

Above steps are crucial for preventing tartar formation, but for tartar removal you need professional clean-up which only a dentist can do.
We will also advise you to get it done periodically as a part of your routine schedule to prevent tartar formation, at least once every month.

This procedure will cost a minimum of 1000rs, but can lead to greater amount depending on how long your session will last, value-added services that the clinic will provide, and location of clinic.

Hi Doctor, if you can check about below periodontist related treatment in Mumbai: LANAP Surgery Splint teeth Grafts

S

Samruddhi Bhartiya

Member of team ClinicSpots.

Answered on 23rd May '24

LANAP:

  • This procedure can take anywhere between 1 to 2 visits depending on the severity of concern, wherein laser will be used to target and destroy infected tissues.
  • Risks:
    • Incorrect heat or wavelength settings during treatment can damage gums,
    • Cracks on tooth or roots,
    • Surrounding tissues of the treated area can experience cell death.
  • Recovery process:
    • Should complete within a week's time.
    • During your recovery phase, avoid brushing/flossing the affected area, rinse regularly, consume soft foods, and avoid caffeine/nicotine.
  • Common side effects include: Post-operative bleeding, discomfort or pain.
  • Cost of this procedure:
Will come around to 10,000 Rs to 40,000 Rs, depending on insurance provision, location of clinic, experience of the doctor, and extremity of concern, even number of sessions, or other value-added services.

Splint teeth:

  • As far as splinting is concerned, you have following options:
    • Occlusal (Bite) Adjustment: Involves minor reshaping of the biting surfaces of teeth, so that they don't experience a lot of force during your bites.
    • Splinting: If some tooth is loose, then it can be splinted or joined together with other teeth, so that the biting force is distributed amongst a group of teeth rather than an individual loosened tooth.
Can either be done using splinting materials to bond teeth to the enamel, thus making them more rigid, or can be done by inserting a rigid metal splint inside your teeth, followed by bonding and cementing.
    • Permanent Or Fixed Splinting: This permanently “fixes” loose teeth by crowning them together.
    • Occlusal Splints Or Guards: Bite guards will protect teeth from the consequences of strong biting force.
    • Orthodontic treatment: Repositioning teeth in such a manner that they receive bite forces in a proportionate manner.
  • Common side effects are: Discomfort and pain which will affect your seech and eating pattern.
  • Treatment cost:
2,000 Rs to 40,000 Rs depending on the procedure used, extremity of concern, the experience of periodontist, clinic location, as well as number of visits and duration of the session each visit.

Grafts:

  • This is done when there is a loss of bone observed in your jaws.
There are 4 kinds of grafts depending upon the source from which the grafting material is acquired:
    • Autografts: Bone taken from your own body parts, such as your hips or jaws.
    • Allografts: Bone taken a different person.
    • Xenografts: Bone derived from other species, such as a cow, pig, or coral.
    • Alloplasts: Artificial material such as calcium phosphate.
  • Side effects: Pain and sweeling
  • Risks: clotting, nerve damage, anesthesia-related complications, your body not accepting the graft.
  • Treatment cost:
Depending on procedure, periodontist experience, value added services, location and infrastructure of clinic and severity of concern, the cost range will come around to Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 30,000.

To prepare yourself for any of the above surgeries, please enquire with doctor regarding:

  • your medical history and current problems, and how they will impact your experience and recovery,
  • pre-operative measures and post-operative care,
  • risks as well as compensation.

Hi

It's generally recommended to get bimax corrected with extraction .It's better that you consult an orthodontist to get more clarity.

Damon is a type of braces and not  necessarily indicated to correct bimax without extraction !
