Should i elevate my legs after sclerotherapy?

Answered on 23rd May '24

after sclerotherapy, it is advised to use compression garments like stockings or bandages to avoid venous stasis and take a walk with compression stockings on.

you can elevate the leg at night while sleeping id that is comfortable.

Do you treat wounds on skin?

Answered on 23rd May '24

hi! there are multiple ways to treat a wound on skin, it depends on type of injury, site of injury, infection or clean wound, size or wound and few other factors.

for a simple clean cut injury it can be sutured, while an infected cut wound should be cleaned daily and allow for self closure till infection is controlled.

larger wound needs specialist for wound management.

diabetic foot wounds can be managed by Vascular surgeon after the vascularity is restored if required.

My father, aged 69 years has swelling in his both legs since past few years! We consulted doctors but they said his one leg will have little swelling forever and treated the other leg by giving injections to clear blockage in veins. But still it is ineffective. Can you please suggest which specialist to consult for this problem?

Is sclerotherapy painful?

Answered on 23rd May '24

Sclerotherapy is not very painful. only the superficial veins that are injected can cause temperory mild pain. you will be given some analgesia to avoid this pain and can be kept very comfortable during the procedure.

Asked for Male, 80

My father ( age 80) is having varicose veins and later due to some jit to foot he got partial foot drop and toes are dragged. He is walking in that foot kid of limping way. At ine of toe finger hard blister formed which pains s bit when touched ground.Took Auyrvedic treatment which gave some relief but walking ability need to improve.

Answered on 23rd May '24

Not sure what your problem is exactly, but if there was sudden foot drop then should rule out stroke and ischemia also. can use custom made footwear for the foot to avoid injury to the dragging toes.

consult a good Vascular surgeon for the varicose veins and Plastic surgeon for the foot drop issue. remember we are treating only the symptoms here but the root cause needs forther evaluation.
