I've been having knee pains for a few years but never very bad. Last year, I hyperextended my knee and ever since I'll have someday where I almost don't feel any pain, and other days where I feel like it's ready to just give out. Is there any advice on what this could be or how I could treat it?
Male | 15
Persistent knee pain along with hyperextension injury should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. It could be due to ligamentous injury, meniscal tear, or patellofemoral pain syndrome. Some rest and pain medications can provide temporary relief.

Male | 43
It appears that you may be suffering from sciatica. Sciatica can lead to a burning sensation down your right leg and along the lower back region, which feels similar to icy-hot. When the discouraging thing happens, either a slipped disc or tight muscle arrays often irritate the sciatic nerve. Essential things to remember include getting enough sleep and using ice packs or heating pads while doing mild stretches every day until the problem resolves itself. Persistent pains require consulting with an orthopedist for further treatment.

Neck dry and pain, left chest pain, gas form, back pain, and legs also
Female | 28
You might have a mix of signs that result from different problems, including tight muscles due to stress, gas in the stomach causing discomfort, and maybe even acid reflux. At times these may lead to you feeling pain in various parts of your body like the neck, chest, back, or legs. To prevent too much gas build-up eat slowly as well as steer clear of foods that could trigger heart-burning sensations. Take some time out for yourself each day and gently stretch your body while doing so. If these symptoms continue unabated or get worse, visit a gastroenterologist or orthopedist.

Hi, I'm a 22 year old male with back pain, I've been to doctors loads of times for the past 7-8 months but all they been telling me is to take pain killers and exercise, ive had a MRI scan which showed L5-S1 left subarticular disc protrusion and L4-5 facet joint arthropathies is that right for them to keep telling me to exercise?
Male | 22
The MRI scan reveals a disc disorder, along with an ache from the facet joint. Workouts can make your muscles healthier and render them more flexible, which is very helpful when managing the pain. You really must stick to the exercise plan of the physiotherapist without fail to reduce the damage caused. Painkillers are one way of pain relief, but the long-term solution comes from exercise, and maybe a few more such treatments like physical therapy depending on the severity of the problem.

My son got kneeinjured while playing tennis. mRI shows high grade ACL tear. Does it necessary to do surgery. Also report showing bone marrow edema. Does it serious condition. His age is 25 only
Male | 25
A high-grade ACL tear can cause instability and pain in the knee, impacting activities. While surgery is often recommended for young, active individuals like your son to ensure full recovery and prevent long-term issues, conservative treatment may be an option depending on his activity level and symptoms. Bone marrow edema indicates inflammation but can improve with proper care. It's important to work closely with an orthopedist to evaluate the best course of action, whether that includes surgery or rehabilitation. They can provide a tailored plan for your son’s needs.

I am a 25 year old male who's had back surgery. I have numbness and burning pain in my legs and I'm not getting any relief.
Male | 25
It is not good to feel numbness and burning pain in the legs after back surgery. These feelings happen because the nerves get irritated. This could happen because of swelling or pressure on the nerves. It is important to tell your surgeon about these feelings. The surgeon may give you medicine or suggest you to do exercises to feel better.

Your experiences of discomfort and irritation in the hip and back can arise from various issues, such as muscle strain, arthritis, or nerve irritation. While tumors are one possibility, they are less common causes of these symptoms. It’s essential to seek a thorough evaluation from an orthopedist, who can provide a precise diagnosis and appropriate treatment options. I’m 50 yrs old and have been suffering with planters fasciitis for years. It started after working at Home Depot. I seen an orthopedic back in 2002 ish, got an injection and was fine. I then left HD and came back yrs later. Now it’s back and I believe I’m also dealing with Achilles tendonitis. My mother who drove a bus for 30 yrs has also dealt with this for a very long time. She can barely walk and I’ve started limping. I don’t want this to slow me down but the doctors here in Wichita Falls are not much help and my mother hasn’t been able to get any relief in California or now in Arizona. My question is is there anything we can do. I have 6 kids, 3 of which are still in school. I can’t just slow down. And I hate seeing how miserably mother is. We are both taking Duloxitine, which helps sometimes. Besides surgery is there anything we can do?
Female | 50
Plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis can be quite bothersome, but there are several ways to ease the pain. Try stretching exercises for your calves and feet, wear supportive shoes, use orthotic inserts, apply ice to reduce inflammation, and take over-the-counter pain relievers. It's also important to avoid activities that make the pain worse.

I have been suffering from stiff elbow post injury.. no fracture but ligament tear. I have been advised physiotherapy and have been undergoing it since 4months. But no improvement. Should I consult a neurologist for this?? I have consulted number of orthopaedic doctors
Female | 37
The challenge posed by a stiff elbow following an injury can be daunting, particularly when physical therapy fails to yield substantial improvements. A pinched nerve sometimes occurs, which is hard to admit. If your arm is still hurting and you want to find a solution, a neurologist is one of the doctors who could offer the right advice in addition to your treatment plan. They can view the problem and also find an effective way to release your tension.
