Hamid Alam was only 34 years old when he began losing his voice. He was struggling to make peace with the fact that he had been diagnosed with throat cancer. He was overwhelmed and felt everything was getting out of control.

On March 2nd, 2020, Hamid arrived in India with his brother. However, after reaching Mumbai, he directly went to Tata Memorial Hospital to begin his treatment. However, the cost of treatment at Tata hospital was too high for Hamid to afford. He connected with ClinicSpots again, and this time decided to follow our lead for his treatment. Hamid was very weak by the time he arrived in India. He also lost his voice entirely by then. Dr. Behl admitted him to Fortis Hospital immediately. The chemotherapy and radiation therapy were tough on him, but eventually he started to see results. He stayed in the hospital for 6 days and could sense some improvement in his health.
He was so relieved and happy with the outcome that he decided to stay in India for another 2 and a half months to complete his treatment plan. A machine called Electrolarynx was installed in his throat, which helped him regain his voice again.
After 4 cycles of chemotherapy and 10 weeks of radiation therapy, Hamid was as healthy as before. His PET CT scan after treatment showed no cancer present. He took all the medicines he needed and flew back to Bangladesh, cancer free.
Hamid came back to India with his wife after a year for his follow up treatment. Dr. Behl removed the electrolarynx from his throat. To everyone’s delight, Hamid’s voice was back to normal without the support of the machine. A PET CT scan also showed that he had no traces of cancer.
