Why Do I Have Unhealthy Tongue with Purple Patches?

38 year old MALE, I am. Facing unhealthy tongue since last 6month. Purple patches on tongue, whitish layer also in morning. A slight overgrowth observed at right end edge. No medicine working, no relief from last 6 month.

Answered on 7th Nov '24

Oral lichen planus might often show up as purple and white spots on the surface of the tongue that may or may not include a covering. It might not be infectious, however, it might be very annoying. Due to immune system dysfunction or stress can be a contributing circumstance. Eliminate spicy foods or abrasive brushing to relieve the suffering. Gargling with the help of salt can also be a relief. If you do not experience any alleviation, consult a dentist for a proper check-up and cure.

My son is 17 now. We have noticed that his gum is becoming black. He doesn't smoke yet. Is it a kind of infection or disease? Can you please suggest a good doctor in Ankara?

it could be a periodontal disease, clinical examination is a must in such cases. after that maybe a deep subgingival scaling or a flap surgery on the gums would help solve this problem

I am 43 years old and I have toothache for past one month. While drinking water getting sensitive. Can you share how to cure this toothache

Male | 43

A toothache can occur when your tooth has a problem. The sensitivity or pain you feel when drinking water may be a cavity or dental caries. This can bring discomfort and at the same time make your tooth sensitive to extreme-temperature liquids. Advising patients to visit a dentist as soon as possible is beneficial to help manage toothache. They can investigate the tooth and give proper solutions which might involve filling the cavity or other pain relief procedures to improve the situation.

Swelling in one gum. And a very little bit of pain very little. Swelling is around from 14 hours.

Male | 21

SWELLING in one gum with slight pain could indicate: - Canker sore - Gum infection - Abscess - Gum disease. Consult a dentist immediately to avoid complications.

What is the best age to start orthodontic treatment?

Female | 22

The optimal age to begin orthodontic treatment is typically 7 to 9 years old. This is because at this time children have a combination of adult and baby teeth, making it easier to fix problems like crowding or an improper bite. Early intervention can prevent more severe issues as they get older. If your child has irregular teeth, difficulty biting or chewing food, or breathes through their mouth regularly, then seeing an orthodontist for assessment would be wise.

I have a mouth sore and it been a 2 weeks no sign of improvement, why?

Male | 21

If your mouth sore has been persistent for more than 2 weeks without shows of improvement, it is good to consult a dentist. A number of ailments, including infections, allergies, or autoimmune diseases for example can also lead to oral sores. The specialist can diagnose correctly and prescribe an appropriate therapy for your disease.
