Can boric acid and Nextstellis aid Bacterial Vaginosis?
Hi! I was wondering what's your take on boric acid for reoccurring Bacterial Vaginosis And if Nextstellis birth control pills could help Bacterial Vaginosis as well? And what probiotics are best for Bacterial Vaginosis?

Gynecologist/Obstetrician
Answered on 8th Feb '25
Boric acid has shown some effectiveness in managing recurring bacterial vaginosis due to its ability to restore normal vaginal flora. Regarding birth control, Nextstellis may help by regulating hormones but isn’t specifically indicated for this condition. Symptoms include unusual discharge, odor, and irritation. Probiotics like Lactobacillus can support a healthy vaginal environment, potentially helping to prevent recurrence. However, it’s essential to consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and treatment options. They can guide you on the best approach based on your health history and specific situation.

I am a 17 year old female. I had had intercorse about 3-4 months ago and for some reason I had a weird period. I took an abortion pill after 11 weeks since that day but have experienced bloating for some reason
Female | 17
If you happen to feel bloating after the intake of an abortion pill, please keep in mind that bloating can occur right after that. Bloating is a sign of stomach fullness and swelling. Maybe, it is the after-affect of psychological and physiological forces that lead to it. One of the main methods to tackle swelling is to avoid overeating and drink water, and some alcoholic and carbohydrate drinks. If it doesn't go away or gets worse, you should probably go to the gynecologist to get checked.

Bleeding and spotting are the most frequent phenomenon during the menses. However, they do not necessarily signify that something is going wrong. Yet, attending a gynecologist is required to make a correct diagnosis.

I pregnancy test 12 days after sexual intercouse and it is negative. It's consider an accurate test or should I do another test?
Female | 24
A negative result 12 days post-intercourse can be accurate, especially if taken after your expected period. Early testing may not detect pregnancy due to low hormone levels. If you experience symptoms like missed periods, breast tenderness, or nausea, consider repeating the test a few days later for more clarity. It's also wise to consult with your gynecologist for personalized advice and support.

Female | 25
Irregularities in menstruation can stem from various factors, including stress, hormonal imbalances, diet, or changes in exercise routines. Symptoms may involve missed periods, heavy bleeding, or changes in cycle length. To help regulate your cycle, consider maintaining a balanced diet, reducing stress through relaxation techniques, and staying physically active. Keeping a menstrual diary could also be beneficial in tracking your symptoms. If these changes do not improve your situation or if you have concerns, I encourage you to consult a gynecologist for personalized advice and support.

Meri 1month mein 2 bar periods ho gaya h kya mein pregnant bhi ho sakti hu??
Female | 19
Sometimes having two periods in one month could be because of a change in hormones or maybe stress. It does not necessarily mean you are pregnant even though if you are sexually active there is a possibility thus pregnancy may not always cause it. Signs of being pregnant also include feeling sick in the mornings, tender breasts, and being tired most of the time. The best way to be sure is by taking a test or going to see a gynecologist.

i am a 20 yr old female. i had my last period from 9-13 june, on 16th june i had unprotected sex and took an emergency pill- Unwanted72 within 2 hours. I have not yet gotten my periods, 2 days ago a pregnancy test which came negative. Although i’m 10 days late and have not yet gotten my periods. Should i be concerned? or is this normal?
Female | 20
The pill can sometimes interfere with the menstrual cycle, leading to a delayed period. Stress, weight, and diet changes, as well as hormonal problems, can also cause menstrual irregularities. You do not need to worry right now, you were not pregnant and it was less than a week ago.

If you're considering using medication to delay your menstrual period, talk to a gynecologist first. They can guide you on using hormonal birth control pills.. It’s good that you’ve been taking pregnancy tests but they may not always detect pregnancy at its early stages. There could be many things that may make you feel something strange in your abdomen. The ball and beat feeling could be connected with muscles or other organs. Late or irregular periods can also be caused by many different reasons. You need to have a scan done so that you can know what is happening.

Me and my partner have sex today, but the condom is teared. I ate the loette tablet after 2 hours of the intercourse. But in the strip there is 21 tablet. I m little confused. How many tablet I have to take to avoid pregnancy. Here after we can't do sex.
Female | 21
It’s understandable to feel concerned after a condom failure. Since you took the emergency contraceptive pill (Loette) after two hours, it’s important to follow the instructions on the packaging. Typically, you should take one tablet as soon as possible, with another dose after 12 hours if the instructions indicate. Keep in mind that some side effects may include nausea or changes in your menstrual cycle. To ensure proper guidance, I recommend discussing your situation with a gynecologist for personalized advice. They can offer the support you need and help clarify any questions.

I am 28 years .I want to concive for 2nd time . I am trying for 2 months .
Female | 28
Trying for a sibling and not getting pregnant immediately is completely normal. Two months isn't a long time, so there is no need to worry too much yet. To increase your chances, you should track your ovulation period, have sex during that time, stay healthy, and avoid stress. Additionally, the partner should be healthy as well.

Hoping for a kind reply. I have period July 2. I had sex July 27 My period started 6th August . And get 2 pregnancy tests 29 days and 31 days after sex. Both are negative. And September 4 to 8 I had bleeding. I'm not pregnant, right? I know that it is not possible to get pregnant after menstruation. But I am always afraid of getting pregnant. I am an over thinker. Oh, can you tell me to make up my mind, I'm not pregnant, right? I'm depressed.
Female | 24
Considering the schedule you provided and the negative pregnancy tests, it is improbable that you are pregnant. Bleeding in the early September period could be caused by factors like hormonal changes, or stress, for instance. If you are still feeling anxious, maybe talking to a gynecologist about it would help you.

After how many days can a mother drink milk after baby delivery?
Female | 30
Milk can swiftly be consumed by most mothers right after childbirth. Milk is nutrition-packed. The milk might be hard if you feel gassy, bloated, and experience a fussy baby after breastfeeding it might be hard for you to digest your milk. If lactose intolerance is suspected, you can switch to lactose-free milk or alternative dairy-free products. Listen and always get an opinion with your gynecologist if you have any concerns.

Hi my period miss 3 days very light spotting 3rd day but periods is not come
Female | 24
Light spotting can happen when you skip periods. Don't worry too much! It might be caused by stress, hormones, or lifestyle changes. Eat right, exercise, relax. But if this continues, it's smart to log details about your cycle. Share that info with a gynecologist to put your mind at ease.

I have missed my period what can i do last month my periods isi in 19
Female | 20
If you miss your period, there can be several reasons for that. The most common explanations are stress, weight fluctuations, or an irregularity in hormone levels. You should also consider the option of pregnancy if you are sexually active. Trying a home pregnancy test is one way to ease the potential stress of the pregnancy situation. In the case of a negative test and your period not coming a gynecologist's appointment is advisable to rule out any underlying conditions.

I am a girl aged 21 the previous night l noticed slight virginal bleeding l wore a pad in the morning l noticed the bleeding wasn't much as usual. The following day the bleeding was kinder normal without cramps however this morning l noticed my night pad doesn't even have a drop of blood. Upon calculating my cycle was supposed to start 5 days from today. I had unprotected sex 8 days ago l took emergency contraceptive just a few hours after sex.
Female | 21
It's understandable to be concerned about your symptoms after recent events. Light bleeding can occur for multiple reasons, such as hormonal fluctuations or the use of emergency contraception leading to temporary changes in the cycle, which is a very common one. Since your period is expected in a few days, it’s possible that what you experienced was an irregularity. If the bleeding doesn't stop or if you have other concerns, I recommend that you see a gynecologist who will perform a comprehensive examination.
