I have itching in my hand and leg please prescribe some medicine for the same

Answered on 11th Jan '25
Itching can be caused by various factors, including allergies, irritations, or skin conditions. It’s important to identify the root cause for effective treatment. Over-the-counter antihistamines may provide temporary relief, but they are not a substitute for professional evaluation. To soothe the affected areas, try applying a cool compress or a fragrance-free moisturizer to reduce irritation. However, if the discomfort persists or worsens, please consider scheduling a visit with a dermatologist. They can offer a precise diagnosis and appropriate treatment options tailored to your specific needs.

My private part as been itching me for the past two weeks now and it’s beginning to swell up what can I do now?
Male | 18
You may have an infection in your private area that has resulted in itching and swelling up. It can be caused by either a yeast infection, a skin reaction, or an STD. The most significant thing to do is to keep scratching to avoid more irritation. Try using unscented soap and wearing non-tight clothes. A proper diagnosis by a dermatologist is needed to get the right treatment.

Had a cream that I used, I got home and started using my family cream which gives me reddish small bumps, they said it’s an allergy, I stopped and started using my cream, but the reddish bumps still showing for like a week now , what’s happening. I’m noticing new reddish bumps too.

Skin reactions are possible after using products. Allergies often lead to reddish bumps appearing. Even when stopping the cream's use, bumps can linger. Keep your skin moisturized and clean during this time. If symptoms persist or worsen, consulting a dermatologist provides valuable guidance.

I recently got Botox, and after that, I started losing a lot of hair. Even though I had hair loss before, now I am losing a lot more. Is this related to Botox side effects?
Female | 26
Hair loss after Botox is uncommon but can occur in some individuals. A reassuring fact is that it is generally temporary. Stress or the discharge of hormones can be responsible for hair loss, which medicine indicates can be Botox injections. In addition to hair loss, it's important to stay on a healthy diet, and cope with stress, and your hair to give extra care, if you want to help with hair loss. If the hair loss continues or worsens, consult a dermatologist for further advice.

Hello! I'd like to consult on a medication called Doxycycline I took 2 doses wrongly by accident (2 pills 2 times a day instead of 1 pill 2 times a day) Should I wait 24 hours and take the next dose in the morning? or should I take my next dose now? also, could I check the effectiveness of doxycycline? (I have taken doxycycline before and I'm concerned it might not be effective) Thank you!
Male | 24
Overdosing on doxycycline can lead to side effects such as queasiness or throwing up. If you took extra doses by mistake, do not take another one immediately. It is recommended that you wait until your next scheduled dose. Doxycycline might not be effective if you have had it before especially if it was not prescribed to you. If you are worried about anything, ask your dermatologist for advice.

Dr I am suffering from acne face, my face has excess oil, Dr tell me the medicine I can take
Male | 23
Acne occurs when you have these red spots on your face caused by your skin producing too much oil. It's super common, especially during the teenage years. To help, you can use a face wash with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. These can clear up your skin by unclogging your pores.

Face pimple and itching and spot
Female | 23
Pimples are a result of pore closures on the skin due to the plugs made of oil and dirt. Itching might be a symptom of your skin being inflamed. To relieve the problem, gently clean your skin with a mild cleaner, don't pick or squeeze the pimple, and use a spot treatment with ingredients such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

Hlw sir .my face is black head problem
Male | 24
It may be a case where you have a lot of blackheads on your face, but it's not the case. Blackheads are little, dark lumps that come to the skin when hair follicles get clogged with too much oil and dead skin cells. You may realize that they are small, black superficial bumps. To solve this problem, cleanse your face regularly with a mild cleanser and use salicylic acid products to open your pores. Also, avoid squeezing or picking as it can cause more problems on the skin. Instead, if you have a problem with them, you should consult a dermatologist for a solution.

I have blisters on my perineum for 4 days. No discharge, no bleeding . The pain comes and goes . I have never had this before please assist
Female | 26
Blisters can be due to friction, an allergic reaction, or even a viral infection like herpes. No discharge or bleeding has been reported, therefore, it is more likely that it is not an infection. Keeping the area clean and dry and avoiding tight clothes will be the simplest way to do so. However, it is still better to consult a dermatologist in case the blisters persist or get worse.

I woke up with black spots on my two legs then my skin start to peel
Male | 28
It seems like you are undergoing skin alterations that could come from varied reasons, such as allergies, irritation, or even a skin infection. The presence of dark spots and flaking might be a sign of inflammation or rather a hypersensitivity to a substance your skin has come in contact with. Besides being clean and moisturized, stop the itching. Observing the developments is crucial. Should the symptoms stay the same or get worse, we would kindly suggest you consult a dermatologist for a thorough examination of your condition and a personalized treatment.

Male | 23
Seems like the problem is fungal in the intimate area. This is what's causing the itching and the pimple-like bump. The most important thing is to keep the area clean and dry so the healing can take place. Avoid rubbing or scratching the area as it can make it worse. You can try using an antifungal cream to help clear up the infection. Make sure to wear loose-fitting underwear and don't wear tight clothing as this will result in faster healing of the area.

I have like red dot on my ball looks like wart now sore
Male | 43
You probably have a red dot that resembles a wart on your private area and is now painful. This might be due to a viral infection known as "genital warts". It is very necessary to not scratch it as this will make the infection spread. Both diagnosis and treatment should be done by a dermatologist. Warts can be removed with medicines or procedures such as freezing or laser therapy.

i’m a 23 year old male and i’ve been suffering with itchy red bumps on my stomach for a while now. it started the day after i returned from my thailand trip on 24th august 2024. i immediately went to a dermatologist as i was afraid if it’s any STI but my dermatologist assured me and suggested me Clobetasol Cream IP 0.05% and told me it would be fine. i used it for a couple days and the red bumps on my stomach were gone for a few days but it started itching again and they were back after a few days. whenever i use that cream the red bumps would go away and when i don’t they pop out again.
Male | 23
Eczema can cause itchy red bumps on the skin that come and go often. The Clobetasol Cream which your dermatologist recommended can relieve the suffering by reducing redness and itching but it is not a permanent solution. For the best management of eczema, you need to keep your skin moisturized, avert irritants such as severe soaps or rough materials, and stick to a mild skincare regimen. If the symptoms do not go away, it is better to see your dermatologist again for more advice.
