When did conception occur after stopping birth control pills?

Hi - I am currently pregnant and need a clarity on my conception date. To give a bit of background- I was on combined contraceptive pills (Ovranette) until 9th of March, when I came off it after finishing a pill pack. I got my withdrawal bleeding on 12th March(which I consider as the first day of myLMP) I tested positive for pregnancy on 11th April when my periods didn’t arrive. I had two ultrasound scan so far - one on 2nd May when the gestation age was measured as 7 weeks 2 days as per ultrasound and the second one on 9th May when the gestation age was measured as 8 weeks 2 days as per ultrasound. Since I conceived the next month after coming off pill, I need some clarity on when did the conception happen. I had 2 times sexual intercourse during this time - one on 12th March (couple of hours before commencing my withdrawal bleeding) and the next one on 23rd March - would like to know which intercourse has resulted in the pregnancy

According to what you’ve said it’s more likely that the sexual intercourse on 23rd March caused your pregnancy. Typically, a pregnancy test becomes positive about 4 weeks after conception which matches the dates. Having taken the pill, you can easily mistake withdrawal bleeding for your normal period. Some symptoms such as positive pregnancy tests and ultrasound findings indicate that it happened after 12th March. The best thing to do now is keep seeing a gynecologist.

Questions & Answers on "Gynecologyy" (3993)

I used an emergency contraception about a month and a half ago, and found my self in a situation where I need to use one again now. In February I had a miscarriage and I’m just wondering how many times I can use emergency contraception, and if it’s okay to even after having a miscarriage. I have used probably about 6 in my life. Is there a limit to how many a woman can take? Will it affect my gynecological health?

Female | 21

Emergency contraception is intended for occasional and emergency use, not as a regular form of birth control. While there is no strict limit on how many times emergency contraception can be used, it's important to understand that it is not as effective or reliable as regular contraception methods.

Repeated use of emergency pills can disrupt hormonal balance in your body and cause irregularities in your menstrual cycle. It's recommended to speak personally with a gynec about more reliable and appropriate forms of contraception that can better suit your needs and provide ongoing protection.

I am a pregnant woman with 6 months,i have went for consultations and started the medication from 5th month starting, there is no risk found by the doctors, does it mean I will get a normal delivery or is it mandatory to have the reports of first four month

Female | 22

It is entirely possible to have a natural childbirth experience even in the absence of early prenatal reports from the initial four-month period. The diagnostic assessments conducted at a later stage can frequently provide crucial insights. Maintain adherence to the guidance provided by your healthcare provider. Continue taking prescribed medications as instructed.

Risk for fetal aneuploidy is low. What does this mean?

Female | 38

The "risk for fetal aneuploidy is low" means that the probability of the fetus having an abnormal number of chromosomes is considered to be low which is a positive indication.

How to induce menstrual cycle ?

Female | 21

Visit a gynecologist to get prescribed hormonal medications, lifestyle modifications, herbal remedies, or medical procedures based on your specific situation. Do not self diagnose as it can be risky.

Amar pregnency ar 3 mas hocce ..kintu amar buke cap dile dud ber hoi . Ata ki kono somossa .. kani baccar kono somossa hoice

Sometimes, women see little drops of milk coming from their breasts when pregnant. Because of the changes in your hormones, it is so. Do not be afraid. Normally, this phenomenon is not a problem for your baby. You can put on breast pads in your bra if you are concerned or feel uncomfortable so that things will be in order.

Hello doctor mera blood group O rh negative hai aur husband ka positive meri pregnancy ka 37 week chal raha hai maine ICT test karaya tha Kya aap mujhe report dekh kar kuchh bata sakte hai

Female | 26

The presence of O-negative blood in your partner who is positive may result in the necessity of an antibody check. Positive ICT test results indicate a possible reaction of your blood to the baby's blood which can lead to complications. Symptoms may include jaundice in the baby. Treatment can include monitoring the baby carefully and giving appropriate care after birth.

Hey doc started my periods early this month on date 17 and ended up on 20th then on had unprotected sex on 22nd am I safe

Female | 19

The 17th starting and the 20th ending period is a pretty normal cycle. Having unprotected sex on the 22nd might expose you to the risk of getting pregnant. So, watch for possible symptoms like nausea, fatigue, and breast tenderness. If you're concerned, think about using emergency contraception or taking a pregnancy test.
