  1. It depends on the quality of the braces, the type of braces and the amount of force applied.
  2. Usually, the pain only lasts for the first several days.
  3. Once you get used to the regular usage, you'll get used to it.

Pain from braces for every person may be different, but most patients note their pain level at 3 to 5 initially on the scale of one by ten and it usually subsided over time. Pain management and care should be discussed with your orthodontist as they can give specific advice on how to handle any discomfort you receive.

Questions & Answers on "Dental Treatment" (330)

I have a hole in my right upper molar with a large brow hole. The tooth has hurt for a while.

Female | 18

It seems you are suffering from a toothache that is leading to a cavity, which is a very frequent dental problem. This issue is caused by the decay of a tooth that is mainly due to bacteria. Symptoms like pain are the signals that might indicate the condition needs attention. Then the dentist will identify the area of decay and manage it with a filling or, in case of severe damage, a root canal. Along with taking care of the teeth by brushing and flossing daily, oral hygiene can help you stay healthy and away from other problems. Therefore, the treatment by a doctor will help you get the best way to your full recovery and also make your tooth comfortable to live with.

I have used braces for 10 months as I have gaps between my teeth and then used retainer for 1 year. And after one more year, now my teeth are moving same as previous and getting gaps between them. can you tell that you can fix this permanently ?

Female | 22

The retainer often causes this issue because it doesn't fit properly, allowing teeth to shift and gaps to reappear. You may need to see your orthodontist to determine if braces or a different retainer are needed. It's crucial to follow your orthodontist's instructions carefully to maintain the results of your treatment.

Yes, it is a fact that stem cell tooth regeneration is under clinical trials. On the other hand, participation in these trials is limited and meets the eligibility criteria. Hi can braces help me to align my teeth? Or are there other options too? See I am a college girl. My teeth are not properly set. I wanted to fix it. But also I have seen one of my cousins had to wear the braces for quite a long time and it is very difficult sometimes to eat. So is there any other way to align the teeth? To whom should I consult? I am from Silivri.

Female | 23

yes braces can align your teeth. You have to consult an orthodontist. other ways of alignment of teeth are Invisalign or aligners and ceramic braces. if your teeth correction are moderate then aligners can help but if too much complex then only option is braces. You can go for self ligation braces which is much more comfortable
