During a panic attack, you might feel as if you cannot breathe, have a racing heart, and feel shaky or dizzy. Your body can be in “fight or flight” mode when there is no real danger. You should do breathing exercises or other things that help you relax so these feelings don’t get too intense. Talk with someone you trust and consider talking to a counselor or therapist for more support if necessary.

Questions & Answers on "Psychiatriy" (406)

I am 31 year old living alone abroad. I am working here and going through a phase of getting married. I have had previous short term relationships. My fiance is living in India and will be moving with me after marriage. The biggest struggle these days is getting flashbacks of the good days from previous relationships and not liking many things of my Fiance. Since the recent past, I'm having multiple panic attacks and want to cry (somehow not able to cry). Also, I am getting suicidal thoughts which was never the case before. Sometimes I also imagine completely disappearing and start a life somewhere with new Identity and losing all the contacts with family and friends.

I am prescribed 0.50 mg of alprazolam as needed. I took my dose and do not feel anything and am still having an anxiety attack. It has been 2 and a half hours since I took that dose. Can I take 0.25 now or is it too dangerous? I have no health issues.

Female | 24

Don't take more medicine without going to a doctor. You may hurt yourself if you do anything harmful. At least attempt to find some other way besides taking so much Xanax all the time because that could end badly too, like speaking halfway or breathing deeply.  If these don't work then going to therapy would be great too.

Kya darbhanga me pagal ka ilaj hota hai

Male | 60

The treatment of mental health in Darbhanga is done in very good ways. There are often symptoms in depression, anxiety, or social failure. It could be all due to genetic or environmental factors. The best option is therefore that you should communicate with a mental health professional. After the doctor makes the proper diagnosis, he can suggest the therapy or medicine.

I'm 26 I have autism ocd Suspected ADHD and suspected fibromyalgia I'm taking 15mg of escitalopram It's making me fall asleep from 6 am to 8 am What should I do? I take it in the evening

Male | 26

Escitalopram might be making you feel too drowsy in the morning like it's the reason you are going to sleep. This case is more or less the same with some people. An example of one thing you might do is to consume it earlier in the evening, for instance, right before you eat. This way, you may later be tired but not in the morning. If the problem continues, bring it up with your doctor.

Depression is a mental health problem that can deeply affect a person and their life. Seeing a qualified therapist who is either a psychiatrist is essential. They are in a position to make a comprehensive assessment and to outline appropriate treatment approaches, including the prescribing of antidepressant drugs where necessary

My son aged 25 was learnt to be under your treatment.I neither know for what illness nor have his prescription. He is aggressive and wouldn't co-operate if I call him for consultation with you along with me and his mom although he said to have consulted you.The boy is confined to his room and is hostile towards me for reasons unbelievable. His mother, my wife was under Dr vijayakumar's treatment from 2000 for over a period of 10 years. Now she consults another psychiatrist as she was on a transferable job. I am 62 years old and my wife 56 years. She had taken VRS from Bank job six months ago. My son is only child and a pampered one.His behaviour isn't acceptable although he would appear normal. I am worried how I could manage to give him treatment through you as he is aggressive and may also leave home

Male | 25

Aggression and hostility may be symptoms of other problems such as anxiety or depression. It is very important to handle the situation with empathy and patience. Supporting him through the process like by advising him to reach out to a psychiatrist, can be helpful. The main approach to the matter is to allow him to freely express what he feels, thus he will be able to share his issues.

Sir early I was good student but now iam not good student and I can't concentrate accurately and I feel meaningful works difficult early I feel good to enjoy but now I don't feel happy to outside enjoy

Male | 17

It seems like you might be going through depression or anxiety. These factors may impair your capacity to focus and an activity you used to enjoy. I suggest seeking advice from a mental health professional to review your symptoms and to talk about the treatment options. They will work with you to design a plan that fits your needs, so that you can feel better and more active.

I am facing general depression issues , due to my stressed lifestyle at the moment. Do I need to speak with a psychiatrist?

Female | 50

One should consult a psychiatrist or counsellor for proper diagnosis and further treatment, i.e. you have depression or bipolar disorder, as treatment and outcome is different for both disorders, however let the psychiatrist decide what medications to take as per you r psychological condition, and have never personally used glutathione in bipolar.

Hello i need to ask about PEth test. This month i have been drunk 3 times. How long do i have to wait in order to pass a PEth test? Also i have been drinking quite heavily in all these 3 times. 2 weeks sober in between the drinking occasions.

Male | 25

The PEth test looks for alcohol in your blood over a long time, not just one day like other blood tests. It is very important to drink lots of water, eat good food, and not drink any alcohol to help your body get better. It's a challenging process, but staying sober and taking good care of yourself can help lower your PEth levels more quickly.
