Could Dark Brown Blood Spotting Mean Pregnancy?
I am 23 years old and having dark brown blood spotting since few days. I’m expecting my periods next week. Is it normal or it can be pregnancy.

Gynecologist/Obstetrician
Answered on 12th June '24
This could happen when there are hormonal changes before your period starts. Stress or a change in diet may also cause it. However, if you are concerned about being pregnant, take a test to make sure. Should this not help calm you down or if the blood flow increases then seeing a gynecologist would be wise.

You may be experiencing pain because of prostate infection or a UTI. I advise you to visit a doctor for proper diagnosis. He may suggest some antibiotics for your problem. Also, I suggest you take lot of liquids like cranberry juice etc. to remove the bacteria and toxins from the system. I hope this answer proved helpful.

Taking an unwanted 72 within 8 to 10 hours after unprotected intercourse can reduce the risk of pregnancy, but it is not 100% effective. Talk to a doctor for professional advice and discuss other contraceptive options for the future.

Experiencing brown discharge can be common and may occur for various reasons, such as hormonal changes or leftover menstrual blood. However, it's important to monitor your health. If the discharge has an unusual odor, is accompanied by itching, or persists, a consultation with a gynecologist is advisable. They can offer personalized insights and determine if any further evaluation is necessary.

My sister is pregnant ..she is 38 weeks and her cerebroPlacental ratio is 1 is that normal
Female | 23
The cerebroPlacental ratio of 1 at 38 weeks gestation is within normal parameters. This measurement evaluates the rate of blood flow to the baby's brain. A low ratio could potentially indicate complications such as fetal growth restriction. However, in your sister's specific situation, the results are reassuring. It's advisable for her to maintain consistent prenatal care appointments with her gynecologist to ensure continued monitoring for a healthy pregnancy outcome.

Is it okay to be pregnant the same month you have treated UTI?
Female | 36
It's generally safe to conceive after treating a urinary tract infection (UTI), as long as you feel well and have completed your medication. UTIs can cause symptoms like burning during urination, increased frequency, and lower abdominal pain. After treatment, it’s essential to stay hydrated and practice good hygiene to support urinary health. If you experience any lingering symptoms or concerns about pregnancy, please consult your gynecologist for personalized advice. They can ensure you’re in optimal health for conception and provide support tailored to your situation.

I'm a 21 yr female I have question that if I'm taking ethinylestradiol and cyproterone acetate tablets and had unprotected sex is there a chance of pregnancy and before sex I have been taking this pills from 2-3 days
Female | 21
Contraception is the most common application of ethinylestradiol and cyproterone acetate tablets. Almost always, if you are taking the tablets in the indicated manner, you won't get pregnant. However, if you made love without putting on a condom during 2-3 days of pill usage, you might get pregnant. Other signs of pregnancy are headache, shooting pains in the abdomen, and swollen feet. In addition to the tablets, identify other birth control and ask about it from a gynecologist if you want to be on the safe side.

Good day! I have had spotting / breakthrough bleeding for 11 days now. Much less bleeding than a normal period, but still bleeding. Will Tranexamic acid stop the bleeding ?
Female | 24
It is rather typical to notice spotting or bleeding between periods sometimes. In some cases, it can be a result of hormonal changes or stress. Tranexamic acid can help to curb the bleeding by making the blood clot better. Consult with a gynecologist before using any new medication. Stay hydrated, get rest, and watch for your symptoms.

Female | 25
Your period is late, yet the pregnancy test says no. That can be puzzling. Stress, hormone shifts, or sickness may cause this delay. You might feel anxious, crampy, bloated, and get headaches. Eating the right foods, resting enough, and managing stress helps. If your period doesn't begin, it's wise to consult a gynecologist for guidance.

Women can miss their menstrual periods due to different factors such as stress, hormonal imbalances, or lifestyle changes. It's common for women to steer off to unsettled paths at a young age or before big events. Even though you may feel scared, don't skip your health as it is the most important thing you have. Your overall health mustn't be neglected. I suggest talking to a gynecologist to understand if there is a hidden issue to the problem and get guidance that is specific to you.

Hello, I am a 26 year old female. Last month, I noticed a strange vaginal discharge. It was not slimy and transparent as it usually is but it was like a white thick ball that breaks when I try to grab it. It still persisted to this present month, but I have been having some itching too. At times, when i put on my underwear. It seems to have become worse because I had a serious itch around my clitoris area, and I kept scratching till I felt like I had injured myself. What do I do?
Female | 26
You may have a yeast infection, a common condition in women. Thick white discharge, itching, and irritation are typical symptoms. Yeast infections are often due to an overgrowth of the fungus Candida. You can try an over-the-counter antifungal cream or suppository, wear cotton underwear, and avoid irritating soaps. If symptoms persist, be sure to consult a gynecologist.

I did urine pregnancy test but it came negative However I feel nausea and vomittng and there is clear vaginal discharge. I am worried. I am 21 years old. What should I do?
Female | 21
Nausea and vomiting together with the missed period can be signs of pregnancy, but the negative test result is reassuring. The clear discharge may be normal vaginal discharge. Stress can also contribute to these symptoms. Keep an eye on your symptoms and if they continue or if your period still does not come along, consider talking to a gynecologist for further advice.

Sometimes stress, weight changes, or hormones cause this delay. Being pregnant is possible too. If concerned, try a pregnancy test. Don't worry; stress impacts your cycle.
